Top Thrill Dragster is a gimmick. Sheikra has an actual layout that is more than just up and down, and is a lot more thrilling. Have you even ridden it?

Six Flags Magic Mountain Announces "X2"
DATman replied to Loco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^To be honest, I think the only remodel that resulted in a new credit of the same coaster was with DL's complete rebuild of Space Mountain. Lots of coasters have replaced trains and never remarketed the ride as "new". -

^I take it you haven't been on a B&M hyper coaster. The first drop is always amazing. -
Neversoft & Their Guitar Hero III should die..
DATman replied to Gnome's topic in Random, Random, Random
Should have bought the Wii version at Costco. It's 80 bucks instead of 90 or 100.A bit better. Though your review does make me want to wait a little longer for a bigger price drop, I doubt that one will be on the horizon any time soon, so I can only hope that the Wii version is a bit different (though I highly doubt it). -

^^What I like is that they use the Wiimote's functionalities to add a new dimension to the gameplay, but when it becomes annoying you can simply turn it off. If only they would start selling the damn mats, so I can get some people together to play. Other than that, it's classic DDR (minus Japanese music, which does make me a little sad) with some Wii twists. -

DDR for Wii is pretty sweet as well. -
^^Why are you waiting? You keep saying "one more thing, one more thing" and one more thing happens and you say it again! Go tell, because this jerk is not worth your time or stress. And complain that your school isn't really teaching acceptance when everyone is telling you that you chose to be gay when you quite obviously didn't.

Siam Park - Waterpark in the Canary Islands
DATman replied to Lincow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^^^There really aren't that many slides at the park. I count 3 bowls, a tornado, 3 tubes, a racer, a kiddie area, and 1 more tower with a small number of slides. I believe that, if not crowded, this is more of a 1/2 day to 3/4 day park, but not really a full day unless it were uber crowded and you wanted to ride everything. -
^To be honest, SFMM is a really hit or miss park. You can have a really great time there, where the staff is, for some strange reason, much nicer than normal. You can have a normal day, where the staff is either nice, rude, or indifferent (at the same time). Or you can have a crap day, where it's like a normal day but really crowded.

Roller Coaster on Moonlite
DATman replied to spaceace12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yeah, it isn't the most intense ride out there, but it's a great family coaster for a truly family oriented park. Though they do have the SICKEST Sea Dragon I have ever been on. -
Any sports fan who takes it upon himself (or herself) to lecture a complete stranger on what a good or bad team is, is a person that needs to find a new outlet of entertainment. I'm an Indians fan (not a huge one, but I've grown up in some ways with them), so I'm a little dissapointed. I do, however love that the Red Sox fans take it upon themselves to bash the Indians when they were almost taken out of the playoffs by a team that has roughly half the payroll they do.

Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!

^^^ From Terms of Service. Come on. You're in what, 9th grade? That means you've been taking an English class for 8 years now. Use the language correctly, as this isn't AIM. As for the coaster, it seems like they have a TON of work to do for a spring opening. I mean, it may be that Maverick was built so early, but it seems like such a big coaster should've started construction at least two months ago. -
Reread what I said. Utter crap compared to the park next door. DCA is not the worst park in existence, nor will it ever be. It is just about a thousand times less than what Disneyland is. Yet, TDA still insists on charging an equal amount for both parks. Is DCA worth 60+ dollars? Not at all. In fact, I'm sure it would draw more crowds if it were cheaper.

A few things. Disney didn't "make up" any of the characters. They were from a book called Uncle Remus' Stories (or Tales, I can't remember). All of these stories are from African descent, and they were written down by a white kid who listened in on the slaves telling these stories. He wrote Uncle Reums as the white perspecitve of a black man, showing him as an "uncle Tom" and someone who is generally unintelligent. Disney's version of the movie singlehandedly completed the separation of African Americans and their heritage. Not only does Uncle Remus tell only WHITE people the stories (which makes no sense as any self-respecting slave or African American would tell only other slaves or African Americans), but black people were segregated in the theaters and barred from the themed restaurant that was based on their own heritage. To call Song of the South a classic Disney movie is only associating the company with racism and the destruction of African American culture.

Hershey Hawaii [RCT3]
DATman replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
He's making a reference to Hershey's new ride. Expect some sort of puzzle followed by a new Intamin or large coaster. -
^^It would not ruin them in any way shape or form. If anything, not updating them is ruining them because the effects are obviously done and the technology is terrible compared to other places in the park. Guests can see what makes things work (like the bats in Snow White's forest) and this takes them out of the story, which is the last thing you want to happen, because once they notice one bad effect, they will notice them all. An update of the technology and effects is something that should happen in order to keep the focus on the storytelling and not on how cheap the ride's effects look. I have never understood the "keep the rides as they are" standpoint of Disneyland purists because never changing them is what brings them down. If Walt could update his classic rides with new technology, new effects, and new animatronics to further the storytelling, I highly doubt he would say "No, because it would ruin them".

DATman replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^No, it isn't. Fighter pilots can withstand over that amount without blacking out. Most normal people would black out, though, if a ride were held at a constant 7 g's for a while.
