  1. What do I expect at a carnival? - Crappy rides - Near death experiences - Things being deep fried that should never come anywhere near a fryer - A wide variety of mutants wandering around - Drunken ride operators - Lots of mullets and bad tattoos. Mostly on the women there dt
  2. For me, as one is steel and the other wood, I really can't compare them. They're both in my top ten lists for their appropriate category, if that means anything. They're both kickass rides... dt
  3. I still think selling all the land around the parks is a bad idea, and one that will come back to haunt them. Oursoucing of food service is probably a good idea. Hell, it can't be worse, can it? "Clean, Safe, Fun" sounds good as a marketing slogan, but it will take a LOT of work to make it reality. Will Snyder have the strength to totally commit to a program like this, that will likely require extensive re-training of all management and staff? I'm not convinced that he'll be good for SF. Worse? Probably not. But I remain skeptical... dt
  4. People being polite to each other People not calling a lawyer if they get a papercut Parents that controlled their children in public People shutting up at the movie theater FM radio not sucking ass Dinosaurs dt
  5. ^100% agreement! The thing that really irritates me is a bag that is attached to a person by a clip or other device is NOT a loose article. It is attached to the person, and as long as it does not interfere with the restraint system in any way, it should be allowed on the rides. I've pretty much given up taking a video camera to US parks any more, as the insane bag restrictions have just gone too far. dt
  6. What fascinates me about this whole situation is that as annoying as Owens is, his agent is even MORE annoying! That press conference on ESPN was interesting. As a life long Eagles fan, all I can say is "goodbye T.O." and "GO STEELERS!" dt
  7. Kip never fails to make me laugh! Paris Hilton, like most vapid celebrities, bores the living hell out of me. Though I still sav "House Of Wax" would have been the highest grossing film in cinema history if they had actually killed Paris for real on camera... dt
  8. It's been my experience that the PS2 DVD player is very twitchy and unpredictable. I'd really recommend getting one of those cheap Cyberhome DVD players and using that to watch DVDs if you consistantly have trouble watching stuff on the PS2. dt
  9. From our experience at IOA/USF a few weeks back, seems like they were being more anal than ever about stuff. The guy at the Hulk was almost strip searching people. Not cool... dt
  10. Those were some great TRs, Mark. Thanks for posting. I'll admit I have not been totally following this story, but I thought one of the main reasons the park was closed was because they were going to be losing much of their parking facility. Was that not the case? Seems like if you have no parking, it's going to be tough to run a park. I never made it to SFAW, as I've never really spent any time in Texas. I guess I should have made the effort, just to have experienced the Cyclone... dt
  11. Wes41190 Hattuchili UsRoadTripper dt
  12. And the hot dogs at the park now have some extra "filler"... dt
  13. I might be related to that Wendy's dude... dt
  14. One year ago today, Mary and I got married. Why she continues to put up with me I will never know, but I will continue to enjoy it. We took a trip to Charleston, SC for our anniversary. I'll post photos later for those that like to look at pictures of old buildings. So happy anniversary to us. Feel free to send us cash... dt
  15. I'm thinking if you've never been to Mythos, it's worth stopping it. It's just for people that have eaten there a lot, the menu has changed so much and it seems like they've taken all the really interesting things off of it. I wasn't as happy with it as I had been in the past, but I'm sure I'll end up eating there again the next time I visit IOA... dt
  16. Wow, I had no idea they still did this. I haven't seen a show since '84 or so. Julie, your costume was great! Sorry you didn't have a better time... dt
  17. That was awesome. The King kicks much ass... dt
  18. Stuff I won't eat: Mac & Cheese Organ Meats Human Flesh Pretty much anything else is up for negotiation... dt
  19. X No Way Out is THE reason I'm going to the UK next year! Well, that and Fish & Chips... dt
  20. Those photos kicked ass. And those were the most confusing road signs I've seen. The coaster looks cool. And the name's not bad. I might have to visit this park some time... dt
  21. That's a damn shame. Back when we were there in 2001, it delivered some kickass rides, though I guess it did not age well. Ah well... dt
  22. You could put it around your neck and sit in a chair and not move, and it would be just like riding Silver Bullet. Or put it around your neck and lay down and take a nap, and it would be much like riding Patriot next year... dt
  23. All I can say is...OUCH! Hope you feel better soon... dt
  24. ^I'm flying out to CA now to strangle you. Perpare yourself... dt
  25. ^Now if they came up with a ride themed around the '70's Music Explosion, THAT would be a ride!!! "Take that, England Dan & John Ford Coley" BLAM! I have no idea what to make of this Hershey ride, as the whole concept doesn't seem to make sense. Then again, it probably makes about as much sense as Dinosaur, so it might be fun. At least there is shooting involved... dt
