  1. Nicely done, though it should come with a disclaimer: WARNING - Contains Scenes From The Satanic Horror Known As "It's A Small World"... dt
  2. These photo updates are kicking more ass than I thought possible! I think Robb needs to caption all photos when he's really tired, as the captions are so much better! I was sort of sad to see that it was a coaster and not a dolphin fantasy, though. I can only imagine what a "dolphin fantasy" ride in Japan would be like. Looks like you guys are having an awesome time. Can't wait for the next update... dt
  3. Symphony X - King Of Terrors dt
  4. That first picture of the castle with the mountain behind it cracked me up. I know it's supposed to be the same size, but it looks smaller! The pics so far have kicked much ass. Looking forward to the next set... dt
  5. Please tell me you got footage of that Walking The Dog game. That looked like a huge pile of awesomeness! dt
  6. I'm sure it will be the usual "Fall Asleep On The Couch Before Midnight" extravaganza that it always is here on NYE. We always stay at home, as dealing with drunken jackasses is, um, not fun. And as always at this time of year, I'd again like to propose my constitutional amendment that the words "Dick Clark" and "rocking" should not be permitted to be used together ever... dt
  7. Yeah, back in the day the motion simulator at the Luxor was the best around. I haven't been to LV since 2000, but even back then, the Luxor sort of seemed a little run down and not as impressive as it was when it opened. I need to get back to Vegas... dt
  8. I liked the other one a lot better... dt
  9. Last show I saw was Kamelot at Jaxx in Sprinfield, VA last month. Going to see Trans Siberian Orchestra tonight. And will be seeing Anthrax early next month. That will be fun... dt
  10. The Screaming Squirrel is not really comfortable, and is a pretty sucky ride. If they did something with the idea, it might be a bit more fun, but the whole "invert/not invert/invert/not invert" thing just makes for a pretty boring ride. dt
  11. First coaster of the year: Silver Bullet, KBF, February Last coaster of the year: Space Mountain, WDW, October Highlights: Visiting LA for the first time in five years Visiting the Dells Going to seven different parks in one day Finally getting to Halloween Horror Nights (which more than lived up to the hype) Getting to WDW and IOA/USF twice this year (Mummy rules!) I cracked the 400 coaster barrier, for a total of 402. Oh, and that whole trip to Europe thing... Seriously, three weeks in Europe with four other cool people = best trip ever. So many great rides (Expedition GeForce, Goliath, Balder, Katun, Starflyer), so many great parks (Europa Park, Liseberg, Walibi World, Tivoli, DLP), so many cool people (too many to name, though Soren and his brother rock), so many trips to McDonald's (OK, perhaps that wasn't the best part) and of course, seeing Robb get smacked by a giant inflated broccoli. It was hot as hell at some points, and sometimes exhausting, but I'd do the whole thing over again in a second. Mary and I look forward to a bunch of trips next year, including her first trip ever to WDW... dt
  12. Good pics. And it's impressive that at age 11, you are able to put together words in a far superior manner than many corporate executives... Dave "and I would know, considering some of the stuff I've had to edit!" Thomas
  13. If that's true, I'm pre-ordering one. dt
  14. It totally depends on what services are available in your area. Our Comcast service here is pretty good, and you get a decent discount on cable internet with cable, so that's what we have. I used to have DirecTV, but to get a similar package for what I get on cable (especially HDTV stuff), it would cost a lot more. We also have a DVR in the Comcast box, which we didn't have to pay for, which is really cool (HDTV Tivo's are about $900 right now, and no way am I spending that much). I'd say go for cable, especially if you can get a good deal on cable and internet. dt
  15. I hope all the McDonald's in Asia are closed for inventory over the next month... dt
  16. I fell down and ripped a giant-assed hole in my leg at Bobbejaanland. And I have POV of it. Add that to your stat sheets... Dave "injury prone" Thomas
  17. Congrats! That's cool that you got your first choice. dt
  18. ^Yeah, Elissa is not kidding about the food selection. I think there are about 1000 restaurants near that hotel. You'll have no trouble finding food... dt
  19. Good job. Breakdancing and Huey Lewis gave me some '80's flashbacks, though... dt
  20. I clicked on this thread, hoping to be entertained. And I was. Wes rules. dt
  21. I still think 41190.com needs a blog... dt
  22. I'd really advise people having trouble viewing videos to download the VLC media player. This thing plays every damn video I've ever thrown at it, and pretty much never crashes (unlike windows media player). You can find it at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ dt
  23. Congrats! Get prepared to get really familiar with your local Home Depot, as you'll no doubt be taking up all sorts of improvement projects. We're always doing something to our place. We're looking at having an addition put on here. Had an architect out to do a survey and preliminary plans and all that. Owning a house rules. Enjoy! dt
  24. I still plan on doing a 20+ minute salute to SLCs and/or kiddie coasters using Opeth's "Black Rose Immortal". dt
  25. That was a badass idea. In full resolution, it would probably be stunning. I'm digging the contest entries so far. I'll have more comments for people tomorrow when I'm more awake... dt
