  1. Colossos (Heide Park) and Grand National have the best first drops out of the woodies I've been on.
  2. Awesome update!! Nice to see everyone had such a great time and the park being so hospitable and overall good. Also I didn't know that the park had an ice bar, until I saw this update, that was really cool! Yeah, Balder or should it be called 'BaldAir' is simply fantastic (rode it two days ago). Also, I'm a annoyed that I didn't go on that UK add-on trip, as I could've done it quite easily... but, well I guess there's always a next time, right Joe?
  3. Lots of great photos Julie! and Yeah, Alhambra is a really amazing 'castle' (visited it two years ago). that Mc Donald's photo somehow reminded me of a meal we ate in Granada, where my sister got anchovies in her pizza instead of mushroom. Anyway, Nice memories, thanks for bringing them up! It's good to hear that you got a free round ticket, to kind of compensate the wait. This TR makes me want to get back to Spain.
  4. Balder - Liseberg yesterday. A TR will be up within a week.
  5. Arrgh!! I am either the green-eared princess pirate or Robb which is more scary?
  6. My screenname comes up with quite boring combinations like: hit mom, him tom, etc. My real name gets names like: airtimes mohalim, ham immoralities, momma hilarities, quite funny.
  7. My oldest ridden coaster is Rutschebanen at Tivoli Gardens, according to rcdb.com it opened" 1915 or later", somewhere I think I read that it opened 1921, but I'm not sure.
  8. ^That's a really great onride photo. Happy Birthday Julie!! I hope you enjoy 'your' day and have fun and a great time!
  9. This is my top 5 1. Teufelswässer - Holiday Park 2. The Flume -Alton Towers 3. Flumeride - Liseberg 4. Flume -BPB 5. Logger's Leap - Thorpe Park
  10. 1th. Some Big Apple coaster? or Cirkusexpressen- Liseberg or Jet Star - Särkänniemi. 25th. Megafobia-Oakwood 50th. Grand National or Avalanche or Steeplechase - Blackpool Pleasure Beach 80th. (not really a milestone, it's my last ridden coaster) Joyride - PowerPark I might hit 100 this year, I've still got two parks that I'll visit almost definately which (if every credit is open) would raise the count to 93 and then I also have a small West Germany trip in mind, on which I would ride my 100th coaster... Well I'll see what I can do.
  11. yeah not a great way to end a career...though I'm pretty sure Materazzi provocated him quite strongely by saying some really nasty things to him, also (Materazzi) he isn't the fairest player either, ie. got 6 or more red cards when he played 27 games for Everton... and Zidane has some temper, because I remember him being sent off before, when he just went forward and pushed down a player to the ground. I feel a bit sorry for Trezeguet when missed his penalty, as he hadn't played much at all in the tournament, even though he's good. Anyway, congratulations Italy!!
  12. ^ I look forward to that movie, especially after all your reviews, shame I still have to wait 3.5 weeks until it comes to Finland. Anyway, went to see some movies recently, first last Wednesday I saw the somewhat old Mission: Impossible III (3), because of a discounted ticket, that would very soon be out of date. The movie was quite good, better than the 2nd imo, there was lots of action, suspense, the plot was alright, and the acting was quite good. It was a bit stupid that they had so loud sounds in the cinema, loudest I've heard so far, even though it was a small hall with only four other people watching. I'd give it 7.5/10 Last Friday I went to see She's The Man, because my sister wanted me to come with her... (seriously!), as long as I don't need to pay for it, I'll watch about anything. The movie did surprise me, positively. It was actually quite good and funny for its 'genre', even though a bit steorotypical and cheesy, but still worth watching, I think. I'd give it 7.5/10.
  13. I usually visit Linnanmäki twice a year and Särkänniemi once a year and Liseberg once a year, because my grandparents live quite close to it. Then of course I (try to) visit atleast 3 new parks abroad every year. Usually I don't return to them for quite a long time, mostly because of lack of money and time.
  14. SimCity 4, after a 1,5 year long break I got intrested again.
  15. My favourite pizza is Thorpe Park's Pizza Hut, and Linnanmäki's Jarrumies (Brakeman) pizzas. Actually, now when I think about it, I haven't even eaten almost any pizzas at a park anywhere else, usually when I'm at new parks I'm always in a hurry and eat some 'faster' food or something else.
  16. ^ I see... Anyway, great photos, funny captions as usual , I haven't heard much about this park, so it was nice to see how it looks like. I think that the Cannonball Express/Enigma/Joe's another missed Schwarzkopf's trains look quite exactly like Lisebergbanan's, except for their length. Looking forward to the next updates.
  17. ^ I agree that would be nice to know. Here's my first (and maybe my last) entry: wee...
  18. I have an iPod nano 2GB. At the moment, there is still space left, though I have atleast 4 albums to squeeze in there, after that it might be a bit 'crammed'. Then it's time to delete stuff.
  19. Usually 'I fly' (I haven't yet flown alone/ without parents) with Finnair or SAS/Blue 1, they are both quite good, good, friendly service, decent food (it varies), highly uninteresting flight TV entertainment (sorry, I don't like Slovakian soccer movies with a boring plot, highlights being the 'scene' transitions when the screen was pitch black (movie pun-unintended). Anyway, my next 'own' flight will most likely be on a Ryanair or Air Berlin plane, because of their cheap prices and some nice destinations, I haven't yet flown with them so I don't really know what else to expect.
  20. Great TR!! Many good photos, looks like you all had a really good time. It was nice to see some Seuss landing photos, because I haven't seen so many yet.
  21. I'm sorry guys, I don't really know what's the problem, because the photos showed up in the preview window. Anyways I re-uploaded them, I hope you can see them now. If not, please let me know, and I'll upload the photos to webshots or something. Here are more Holiday Park photos: A Limited edition of EGF merchandise, the car 35 000$, a crate 120$, spade 75$, half pound of sand from the expedition 25$. Thanks for reading. Europa Park tripreport should be up soon. The drop tower, which was sadly without any free mint drops. The Holly Kinderland! weee!. not or actually never to be mistaken with the Holy Land. mouthful hairy corns, too corny for me. blue beans, happy mushroom etc. and green stuff. Oh, now I know where he got that wound from! Some strange temporare tattoo thingies in form of wounds, bloody stuff. Nice looking houses. Some tough warriors. One with a badass bloody wound. A mad bear holding up a guy, he's about to throw him on the laydee's, because he didn't get any plastic swiss cheese. The cool two and a half middle aged middle age men. -Aah oink!.. you smell fresh again Rüdiger, now what kind of dirt did you have for dinner? Some nicely themed houses. now onto a few random Burg Falkenstein photos. The entrance to the park, the last shot of Holiday Park I have.
  22. Holiday Park 5.6.06 Arrived: around 10:40am Departed around 4:30 pm Weather: sunny, around 17-19 degrees celcius. Who went: me and my sister Rides: Queues: 3 x Expedition Geforce 35 min/15 min/ 25 min Super Wirbel 30 min 2 x Burg Falkenstein walk on Teufelsfässer - flume 25min Donnerfluss - rapids 20 mins Free fall tower 3 mins would have been 15, if they hadn't needed a single rider to fill in. Kanalfahrt " Anno tobak" 5 mins Tour des Fleurs 5 mins Tanzender Pavilion walkon The park was more beautiful, better themed at places and bigger than I had expected. The park wasn't so crowded as I expected. I thought that the Germans would go to school on this day (Monday), but my mom had found out later that they've a 2 weeks holiday only in this 'state' in Germany, which was a bit dissapointing, but didn't really bother us in the end, when we still got on the rides we wanted. The highlight of the day was EGF, it was really great or more like fantastic, definately my favourite coaster so far. I can't really find out any part of the ride which they could've done better. They operated one and at times two trains that day, which explains the difference in the queuing times. The logflume, Teufelsfässer, which according to Holiday Park's site means Devil's Barrels, was a good ride and one of my favourite flumes, with an surprising element. Super Wirbel was alright, it was nice that its surrounded by there and that there is trees right next to the track, and you couldn't see what was coming. It was also too shaky, still a bit better than Alton's Corkscrew even though the car hurted my knee more. The Free Fall tower was quite intense, you did really get 'the stomach feeling', it was great. Burg Falkenstein was a random, nice, quite funny middle age themed darkride, but the sounds were too loud, and not really 'well balanced'. Donnerfluss, or 'Thunderriver' was quite lame and boring, one of the worst rapids I've been on. I didn't see a sign of their new 'Lighthouse tower attraction', which should've opened in Spring, maybe I'm blind or then its construction have been delayed for a time. Overall the day was good, it would've been nice to stay longer, unfortunately we couldn't as we had to make it to a train which was going to Freiburg later that evening. Here are some photos: The first drop, The last Double drop and the water, wasn't that poetic? No? Great. Soccer craze in Germany, go ahead see how many goals you pee. Quite cool. Super Wirbel, a yellow thing that makes you go oooch!! Aaargh!!! in the forest, no it's not a Cambodian yellow moose. The world's biggest beer or wine barrel, space for about 77 000 liters ~ 17000 gallons. Here is the Donnerfluss. Lame caption. Lame ride. Now onto something much better... Some banked turns, looking fresh n' cool, shame they didn't want to hang out. "More hills that kills with the airtime it between the seat and the riders a$$ fills." The mis-timed photo which sadly ruined this TR. Airtime hill and the camp kitchen, good combination ? I don't know! The great first drop. Put your hands up if you wanna have a great ride. Shame, rider on the 2nd row, on the right hand side, you'll soon experience our new ride enhancement called ejection seat, because you queue-jumped. The view from the station, orange airtime track, trees and hair, food stalls, what else do you need? This photo is for all the "sideways, a bit from below" lifthill enthusiasts out there. More photos will come soon.
  23. Many great photos! It's good that you're having (/had) a good time there . Spain looks very nice, Morocco looks... quite nice, shame about the annoying beggers everywhere. The food you ate did also look yummy! and Lanjaron is one of the best bottled waters I've had.
  24. Well said, I have to agree. Great updates so far!! I loved the caption about "Race-Control Thunder Rock Rally" . I feel a bit 'gutted' that I had my smaller UK-Tour last year (Alton, Chessington, Thorpe, Drayton, BPB, Lightwater,Oakwood), when I could've joined this TPR trip this year and have more fun, get ERT etc. and shorter queues, partly because of the World Cup, which I in the other hand wouldn't have wanted to miss much of, but still. Anyway, I hope all you guys on the trip will have a better time at the upcoming parks. Enjoy and have fun!
  25. Great update! It sure looks like your having a great time, at a nice park in almost the middle of nowhere. I'm a bit dissapointed now, that I visited Oakwood last year, when they've now got the amazing looking Speed also I wish Hydro would still have lapbars. Anyway, bring on the next update!
