  1. WOWWIE! Looks awesome! I actually really like the name! And I love the color scheme! It looks really fresh and will fit well in that section.
  2. Wow! Track work looks like it is about halfway done. I wouldn't be surprised if all the track gets assembled by the start of the Christmas season! I'm so excited to ride this, even if it does make me vomit! It looks so insane! I think I'll actually be a bit scared to ride! I hope it has a strip of lights on it like on other Mack coaster trains.
  3. It will be. SDC always opens for Springfield's spring break, which this school year is March 12-16, 2018. Analogous dates for next school year would be March 11-15, 2019. Springfield R-12 is the largest school district in the state, so it's as good as guaranteed that they'll be open at that time. Keep in mind though that during the spring they have some staffing issues and so are open 8 hours a day for 5 days of the week. There's not a good way to predict which two weekdays the park will be closed until the calendar is officially released, and closing times of 5:30 or 6:00 are typical too. I feel super lucky because my school's spring break is always after Springfield and Branson's spring breaks so when I go to SDC during spring break the crowds will probably be light.
  4. Wowie! That looks amazing! And it seems like the themeing will be pretty great on it, too! I love that Cedar Fair is adding a little bit more themeing to their new coasters! I absolutely loved the theme of Mystic Timbers and this one looks like it will be great, too!
  5. After this, it looks like Route 76 will be one of my favorite sections at at Cedar Fair park. They have some really fun family rides (Scrambler, Tilter. Antique Cars, and Northern Lights), two GREAT thrill rides (North Star and Delirious), and a really fun, thrilling coaster (Steel Venom). Plus it looks like they will be adding more lights in the area and more trees. It looks like it will be great! I know a super loop may not be the most exciting announcement, but it will definitely add to the flat lineup and it will be a welcome addition in that section of the park. Plus the guests will LOVE it. I actually really like super loops.
  6. SO BUMMED Wildcat got those GCI trains. Ugh. Goodbye airtime, goodbye wild nature... I mean, sure the track may have been needing a replacement, but those trains!? Uck. And you can bet if GCI had ANYTHING to do with 'redesigning' or 'modifying' the profile at all, it ain't Wildcat anymore. GCI has a way of moving ledgers just a few inches here and there, and completely nuking any airtime in places. But I guess that's all a different thread... But it is relevant! As Legend is a top 5 woodie to me, and my favorite at Holiday World, we can look at the work GCI did to it. The first drop *pop* at the breakover is gone. It's still fun, but the airtime is almost completely gone in that spot. I will say that the rest of the ride, I have personally warmed up to, but did they really have to give their signature by removing the awesome pop of air on the first drop!? Thank the maker it didn't get GCI trains. The thing that ruins PTCs reputation, in my opinion, are those L-ratchet bars and seat dividers. So savor the few we have left with buzz bars and no seat divider! The number gets smaller every year. It's the times we live in... I'm not the only one who likes Legend better than all the other coasters at Holiday World! I love that it still has the old PTC trains, I was scared they were going to get new GCI trains with the retrack. I feel like if it got those new trains it wouldn't be as insane as it is. Part of the thing that makes Legend super intense is that it absolutely HAULS through the helix and those turns at the end so you are getting flung around, plus there are four or five places where I flew up against my lapbar. GCI trains are lighter so it probably wouldn't be as fast or intense. I would say the Legend is my third favorite wooden roller coaster behind Mystic Timbers and the Beast. I would like to see a park buy a couple of PTC 360 trains, just to see how they ride. If not only because they look amazing! I absolutely love the eagle train from IAAPA. I also want to add about those GCI redos. The one on Ghost Rider was great, the ride has a lot of airtime and is an overall great ride. And of course the one on the Legend was great. But as you guys said above it totally ruined the airtime on Yankee Cannonball. It also nuked the airtime on Timberwolf at Worlds of Fun. I've ridden it many times over the years. Before the retrack it was a *little* bit rough, I don't see what everybody hated about it, it wasn't that bad. But even though it was a bit rough, it had some ejector airtime in places. The last time I rode it was in 2015 when they had retracked about half of the course. It had little to no airtime. It was smooth but it wasn't very exciting anymore.
  7. RMC Mean Streak and Hurler are going to be amazing rides, but I'm more excited for this because 1. it is close to me and 2. this will be something truly unique and SDC says it will be something that has never been done before.
  8. I'm pretty much in the same place. Most rides that rock back and forth make me super nauseous except for Zamperla Discos and Giant Discoveries. But yeah. I hope they don't just remove the Tea Cups, they are always something that I have to do at a park if they have them. And I hope Buzzsaw gets moved somewhere else in the park, too. There used to be one at Celebration City (which was one of my home parks) and it was a ton of fun. It didn't do a whole lot of just rocking back and forth so I really liked it.
  9. My head hurts just reading that post. Holy crap! Speaking of record breakers, I think we have a new winner for "longest run-on sentence"
  10. ^^ YES! I love Zamperla Giant Discoveries. They are definitely in my top five favorite flat rides. I wonder where they will put it? Anybody have any good ideas on where it can go? I was thinking it could replace Tomahawk but something tells me they won't get rid of it considering Six Flags New England has back to back Boomerangs.
  11. On one hand, I hope it is something like a Top Scan, Giant Discovery, or Air Race, on the other hand I REALLY hope it is a super loop. And if they do get a super loop, I hope they call it a coaster.
  12. Those paths seem really wide in the Gotham City section, I'd love to see them cut circles in some of those larger areas and they could put a tree in the center and either some flowers or bushes around it. They could get medium sized trees like they did with Six Flags New Orleans so they will still provide shade even if they are just planted. It would be aesthetically pleasing and it would provide shade.
  13. Yeah. I saw the same thing at Mystic Timbers, except it was whole school groups. And of course there were some kids that would slip and fall while climbing over and then the grouper at the top of the stairs would yell at them.
  14. I absolutely love Wildfire's station. It's beautiful! I honestly don't mind waiting in longer lines on wildfire because I'm bound to find a new interesting detail every time. The theming is just so detailed! Yeah I have been tempted to walk behind there to the overflow queue to look at more of the theming. I think I have been thru there once or twice in the many years it has been at the park. Its unfortunate in the fact that Wildfire has the shortest coaster line in the park so most never get to appreciate the station theming. Not just that, but if the line is short, the lab scene with the animatronic door and science equipment isn't even lit up or doing anything. It's a shame that amazing theming gets hidden on slow, even some normal days. I feel they should just make the line permanently go by that scene as it tells a lot of the ride's storyline. On another note, a lot of the theming in Wildfires station has seemed to be touched up this year, including the mist when the train is dispatched. It has worked consistently every single visit I've had this year. I feel like if they had it so everybody had to walk through the switchbacks even if there isn't a line you'd have a lot of kids (and adults even, I saw it on Mystic Timbers) climbing over or crawling under the handrails and then you'd almost always have an operator yelling at people for doing so.
  15. I absolutely love Wildfire's station. It's beautiful! I honestly don't mind waiting in longer lines on wildfire because I'm bound to find a new interesting detail every time. The theming is just so detailed! Ain't that the truth. I went over spring break earlier this year and the line was so long that it was in the upstairs queue line. I didn't even know there was an upstairs queue line. I liked being so close to that airship thing. It was fun even if I did wait an hour and a half to ride. Lol.
  16. I hope they get maybe like a Zamperla Hawk and put it in between Firecracker and Hollidog's Funtown where the basketball game is. Maybe they could move that game to the Halloween section.
  17. I haven't found this leak. I've been seeing people talking about it online, but I've yet to actually find it. Lol. Oh well. I guess it will just be a pleasant surprise on Wednesday along with the six other announcements. Lol.
  18. It is nice to see that you did a photo trip report for Bay Beach! You don't see a lot of them! Seems like such a wonderful park, I just wish it wasn't so far away, especially since they have that awesome little wooden roller coaster and also one of my favorite flat rides: Falling Star.
  19. I do agree that Worlds of Fun definitely has the worst employees of any park I've been to. They are super slow, they look angry all the time, and they spend half of the time standing around talking to each other.
  20. Hmmm. I wonder who they sold it to. It was one of the only rides they didn't put up for sale online.
  21. I don't see what people hate so much about Timber Wolf. I love it so much. Last time I rode it (last summer) it was super fun and smooth! And I even rode in the back! I hope Worlds of Fun never decides to RMC it. I absolutely love the helix and the return to the station.
  22. Also ride the flat rides in the Grand Exposition. Plus one of my favorite things to do is sit on the back porch of the culinary school. Even before Time Traveler construction started it was still nice to sit back there and eat an ice cream cone or something.
  23. This is just a wild idea, but what if they got the old Roaring Falls chute the chute ride from Celebration City? I was driving into Branson the other day (my friend and I were parking hopping from SDC to White Water) and I noticed that it looked like Roaring Falls had been dismantled. Maybe it was just behind some trees or it was the angle I was looking at it from but you can usually always see it when you are driving in to Branson. Maybe Herschend finally decided to send it to another one of their parks. Wild Adventures already had something very similar, SDC is getting Time Traveler next year, maybe Dollywood could get Roaring Falls. They could slap a new coat of paint on it, put some nice rock work around it like at Celebration City, and call it new. It would be fairly cheap but still a new addition to the park.
  24. I'm so happy it won't be Wild Wings or Wild Mountain. Wild Wings sounds perfect for like a launched wing coaster or a flying coaster and Wild Mountain sounds like the perfect name for a zip line or climbing course.
  25. You are saying this about the people that to this day complain about the condor ride being removed and the rapids ride being removed a couple years ago. And did you see that one guy in the comments that was upset because Hersheypark removed a little scene from the train ride? The people of Hershey never forgive and never forget. A couple years? More like 9. Almost a decade and people still insist with every new ride announcement that the rapids is making a comeback. They hold a grudge like crazy
