  1. ^^^ Best of luck. These things have a way of working out but I'm still sending good mojo your way.
  2. I love your trip reports, so thanks for posting. I'm now hearing "Apple Zapple B*tches" in Miss Vangie's voice and it is giving me life.
  3. ^Glad you had a good time at SFoG - I've always really liked the park and am glad to call it my home park. You are right about Scream Machine - it is BRUTAL this year, but underneath the spinal readjustment you can see the amazing classic woodie that is still there.
  4. Great report! Thanks for posting it
  5. This thread might be kind of crazy, but it is also just awesome fun. David
  6. That one is pretty amazing Hanno! Love the facial expressions David
  7. This is awesome! Thanks a bunch for posting! I've also checked Britt's thread and the fact that both of you are writing these and you are both very good at it makes me happy. David
  8. This was awesome! I, also, always thought you would be the quite and calm one. Glad you aren't!!! David
  9. What a great day that was! Thanks Hanno!!
  10. I find that there are two different types/personalities of "coaster enthusiast" that I've encountered. There are the ones you encounter online that are just awful, whiny, pissy, insert-insulting trait here, that I have rarely ever actually encountered at parks - then there are the rest of us that probably know more than we need to know about the hobby, but can laugh at ourselves and generally enjoy it. on another note, I may or may not have resembled the high school students you were referring to I was the master of being "tragic and misunderstood," but in my defense - it was the 80's. On the Kings Island front - good for them! This will be yet another reason why I need to get back there (as if nighttime Beast rides were not enough.) David
  11. Awesome! Thanks for posting this. I know it takes some work to get them done and you do them well so it is appreciated.
  12. I was able to attend the Member Event for Pandemonium yesterday. Such a fun ride and a very solid addition to the park. Rode Scream Machine for the first time this year. The plus is that it was flying and there was abundant airtime - the negative is that there are some planet sized potholes at the bottom of a couple of the drops that were pretty brutal (still rode it twice though ) David
  13. I miss the flat rides in the elaborately themed boxes that were at Miracle Strip in Panama City Beach. There was one that the entrance was a huge Devil's Head and another that was an Abominable Snowman. Super cheesy, but fun.
  14. ^ Agreed! Mindbender...
  15. Me and my favorite little person! Awesome kid and budding coaster enthusiast at the ripe old age of 3
  16. Just caught up from the weekend. Amazing photos as always Hanno!! So glad you are posting them again.
  17. Awesome pictures. I love the first drop reactions. Looks like there is a full range of emotions there David
  18. I totally read that in her voice!! Thanks for the laugh
  19. You eluded to it a bit, but this isn't as good a deal with season passes and meal plans already. The only thing you're getting is the overnight camping and a few hours of ERT for $60/person. I wonder if they'd ever thought about a cheaper package for season pass holders to account for the tickets and meals, similar to the break in price for concerts there. Thanks! I'll be going at open - don't need to hit Nighthawk as I've ridden it and didn't particularly care for it, don't need the mouse or Hurler (as I really dislike it.) TOTALLY looking forward to Fury and Copperhead Strike though! Those will be new to me. Also totally looking forward to the Flyers, Afterburn and Intimidator as well.
  20. ^ This is true. The ops used to actually tell you how to get them to snap. So I have a question, I'll be headed to Charlotte for work later this week. I've scheduled things so I can go to Carowinds on Friday before driving back to Atlanta. I see that it is an "education" day. Does anyone have experience with these? Is it going to be a s*^tshow? I'd like to know so I can plan accordingly. David
  21. I've never been to Darien Lake, but I have to say - the bright red looks great in the shot with the water and the grass. That makes the place look nice.
  22. Thanks for the coverage and the report. It looks amazing.
  23. I'm kind of surprised that there aren't pictures of the construction and supports floating around. I'm unfamiliar with the park, is the area for the new ride kind of out of the way or are they still really just moving dirt? David
