The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
BelizeIt replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like your ideas, though ToonTown is the area I visit the least when I'm at Disneyland.(I don't have any RugRats) But, looking at your satellite photo what I do see is tremendous amount of space for a new E-Ticket attraction. When I see some of the unique attractions that Disney has built (or is currently imagineering) I can only hope that Disneyland will at some point actually get a new E-Ticket. Sadly, I seems that the Disney Corp feels that they don't have to do anything to Disneyland. I would also like to see a major redo/facelift for Tomorrowland.(Which doesn't seem very futuristic anymore) I realise that Disney has allocated a lot of resources to DCA, but they shouldn't lose site of the original park that started it all. But, either way I'll keep renewing my annual pass every year, and hold out hope for the future. -

Well it looks like that cabin has seen some serious use over the years. Now did you say this cabin is located in up state New York? Because upon seeing your Frig on the outside patio, I assumed it was a little further south, make that wayyyyy south, like Alabama South! It must be great to have a nice track of land like that it the family. With your ATV's and good supply of .30-06 cartridges (for the local wildlife) I'm sure you and your friends have had many good times up there. -
Nerdiest Coaster/Theme Park thing you've done.

Well my cousin got me into Pin Trading at Disneyland, and now it's become a full born addiction. (It's a fun Treasure Hunt everytime I visit the park) I remember a while back that Elissa posted her opinion on 'Pin Traders'. -
It's all over! The Phils Blew it! Two straight home losses, ouch. I can only hope that Cliff and Pedro pull off a miracle comeback. The Yankees have loss the last two home games in the past, but this year their team is to dominant. I just hope that the Phils can avoid the Humilation of being swept at home. Go Redsox 2010!

Great Trip report! Your talk about the Fries reminded me of the opening scene from the movie Pulp Fiction when Jules and Vincent are driving in the car. Vincent: You know what they put on French Fries in Holland instead of ketchup? Jules: What? Vincent: Mayonnaise. Jules: Godd*m. Vincent: I've seen'em do it, man. They f*ckin drown'em in that sh*t. I'll have to look up a recipe for 'Belgian' fries, and break out the deep fryer! -
Great ongoing trip report! I agree with you about the Cafe Orleans 'Pomme Frites'. Whenever I visit the park (which is often) I always stop by for a basket of them, with an extra side of sauce. Hopefully Lauryn enjoyed her Mickey Ears. (especially considering that everytime she wears them in your presence, may cause you to involuntary scowl a bit)

Another always entertaining trip report from the Alveys. At what hour of the night did the drunken partner-swapping begin? -

That was great! There's never a dull moment on TPR. -
^^^Calm down Elissa. (To quote Rollerman 87) I'm sure you've paid inflated food prices countless times. (By the way, your response to Rollerman87 on the previous page made me laugh-out-loud) I went to Knotts for the first time in years a few months back. I enjoyed most of the rides, but what surprised me was that I felt like I was walking around a flea market. They had an odd bowl assortment to shops and stands to buy from, none of which seem very popular with the guests. But, I'll be back again for the Haunt!

I emailed Dan before I went to work this morning. I found some interesting information about him in the Urban Dictionary. (definition #7)

Excellent post! It must be amazing to see the Space Shuttle sitting on top of that 747 in person. I visited the Kennedy Space Center a few years back, and had a great time.

Well its been established that Moderators like Wes eat their own young. So naturally they can be a bit testy from time to time. But, if you have been on a forum that isn't as strictly moderated as TPR, you can see what a mess it becomes. One of the most common problems is that people often don't use the search function, or even bother to look over the front page. So the Moderators often see the same issues over and over again, which is tiresome for anyone. I've been posting on TPR since the beginning, and I've always been impressed with the way its run.

Good News! I'm sure they'll do a great redo of this attraction. It to bad that redo's are all that Disneyland ever seems to get. They redid Space Mountain, then the Submarines, and now Star Tours. Unfortunately they haven't added a 'New" E-Ticket attraction since Indiana Jones? (I believe) and that was way back in 1996? I remember reading in David Koenigs book Mouse Tails how he talked about how one of Walt Disney's directives was that the park never be complete and that it be constantly changing and expanding. But under the current leadership they seemed pleased with Disneyland being the massive cash cow that it is. I realize that there spending a boat load of money on DCA, but that was money they should have allocated when they first built DCA. In any case, I'll look forward to the updated Star Tours. I'll be living in Orange County for a while, so I'll hold out hope that Disneyland will continue to expand as Walt envisioned.

The Michael Jackson Web site announced that Disneyland will bring back Captain EO this January 2010. Disneyland originally wanted to bring the show back for it's Halloween Time celebration, but wasn't able to do so. Honey I shrunk The Audience will go on the back burner for the time being. www.michaeljackson.com/ar/node/200089

Fish tanks can be a fun project/hobby. The die hards get into the salt water versions, as you stated people can become a bit obsessive with them. As for a name, you could consider 'Kraken'. It the name of a Sea Monster, and its theme park (roller coaster) related.

Disneyland President Ed Grier and his TDA planners have held a few meetings to consider another element for this years 'Halloween Time' promotion; a return engagement of Captain EO. The article talks about what Robb and Elissa stated about the popularity of HISTA. "HISTA attendance at this venue has plummeted in recent years to the point where it only hosts a tiny fraction of its daily capacity." If they bring Captain EO back it would just be a short term run for the Halloween season. www.examiner.com/x-704-Pop-Media-Examin ... -Halloween

There are still some deals out there for an AP. At Costco you can purchase a Disneyland/DCA Deluxe AP for $260.00 (same price as at the park) but Costco includes a $50.00 gift card as well. So even if you want to buy the Premium pass, you can take the Deluxe pass + Gift card an upgrade it to the Premium. So on a family of four you'll save an extra $200.00, because of the extra Gift Cards. I've had a Disneyland AP for many years, I've always found it to be a great value.

^One would hope not! Clearly you are long overdue for a trip to 'Confession'. The Skeletons in your closet are starting to back up. Repent now! Ask (or perhaps beg) for forgiveness, before its to late. The Eternal Hell Fire awaits those who make these kinds of posts on TPR. Don't damn yourself to hell (like Wes already has) you can still be forgiven!

Oh My God! Blatant Pornography on TPR, I'm Highly Offended! I thought this was a wholesome site, dedicated to the pursuit of family values. Sure once in while a trip report from one of those 'European Parks' would display some risque images. But this isn't a trip report at all! I've managed to avoid Boob's on the internet for all these years, and now to have them thrown in my face on TPR is Shocking! I shake my Bible at you heathens, and pray for your souls. I'll never be able to eat pudding ever again, that is all.

Excellent trip report. Wild Rivers has always been a fun little water park. I live a few minutes away from it, and everyone who goes there seems to have a great time. It seems that every year they talk about 'closing' it for good. The Irvine Land Management Gods who own the property will eventually tear down Wild Rivers and build something else on it. I hope it stays around for a while, it's a unique little water park, that I would highly recommend for a visit.

I have no idea what I just watched for the last 2 minutes, but none the less thats still one more view towards your winning total. Best of luck to you!

^^So will you be attending the final home game for Halladay, before he's traded to the Dodgers? (or Yankees) The trade deadline is almost upon us.
-
Well the Yankees may be high up in the MLB power rankings (below the Red Sox of course), but they keep losing to the teams they might actually meet in the Playoffs. The Red Sox have swept them not once, not twice, but three times....IN A ROW! Also the Angels swept them just before the All-Star break. It will be interesting to see if Roy Halladay gets traded, I'm sure the Yankees are considering an offer for him. (Especially since the Mets have turned down Torontos trade deal for him) Go Red Sox!

This has been a great on-going thread, I'm looking forward to your future updates. So did you watch anything interesting on Kenya TV?
