  1. I went on a Saturday last year and I didn't get fright lane passes even though the lines were actually quite long for some of the houses but I was able to do all of the haunts. I waited at least 40 mins for bayou one and the one near the flyers, I think it was called urgent scare was around a 90 minute wait. Everything else was around 20 mins or so.
  2. There is more to do in the winter than ride coasters in 20 degree weather. April thru October is plenty. People need to diversify their hobbies. I actually prefer riding coasters in 30 degree weather than 95 degree weather in the summers. I actually don't go to parks very often, if at all in July or August. It's normally too crowded and too hot for me.
  3. I went to all the parks during the Daytona 500 week in 2011 and they weren't super packed from what I remember.
  4. I also love the Terminator movies but it really is dated, I would have loved to see a newer Terminator version but I'm curious to see what they come up with.
  5. Yeah, my guess is that they would put Gatekeeper on regular Fastlane and put Steel Vengeance on Fastlane Plus (though they could leave them both on Fastlane Plus if they want). I'm honestly really curious to know how many people actually buy the base level Fastlane. There's definitely value in it since a lot of the rides on the base level can get really long lines (especially Millennium Force) but I always found the price difference between Fastlane and Fastlane Plus to be too small to justify buying the regular Fastlane. If you spring for Fastlane, you might as well get Fastlane Plus. I don't feel the same way at Six Flags parks where there's usually a huge difference in price between the different Flash Pass tiers. Also at Cedar Point they offer a free upgrade to Plus if you're a platinum member and buy the regular fast lane. It seems to be only a Cedar Point thing though cause they didn't offer it at Kings Island.
  6. I've always loved this ride and seeing the pictures of the old queue reminded me of how awesome looking those dragons were. I'm a very casual Harry Potter fan, I've seen all the movies once and I enjoy the areas in both Universal parks but it's a shame that they couldn't find a way to keep the dragons since there's a few in the series anyway. A repaint of them to match the books/movies is something I'd like to have seen. I agree with the others about Poseidon's Fury and Sinbad being horribly outdated and I'd much rather have seen that space used up for something Potter related.
  7. The MF is a poor setup to me especially with the amount of money that they charge for the fast lanes. Unless it's completely dead I don't think I'd ever visit this park without one though. I wonder what customer service even does in a situation like this though if people are complaining about the fast lane waits.
  8. Are both trains red? I did a Google image search and only saw the red one.
  9. I love the Halloween events, if you don't like them it's basically a month and half at some parks. It's not like there aren't plenty of other times you can go to the parks when they are less crowded.
  10. I'd love to see the Six Flags parks give an option for a bottle free drinking pass. I did the Cedar Fair one this year and loved it, it's great not having to carry one of those big bottles around all day and I don't drink that much anyway so the smaller cups that Cedar Fair gives out are perfect.
  11. This looks awesome, I definitely want to try to go one year. I didn't even realize that they started it so early, my mind is not thinking Halloween yet lol
  12. I love Wicked Cyclone but it's over a 3 hour ride without traffic for me and there's almost always traffic heading up that way so it's usually closer to 4+ hours so no I don't consider that local for me at least.
  13. It's like 50 bucks for a season pass, that's like the cost of 2 real imax movies near me lol sometimes you have to keep your expectations at a realistic level.
  14. Watching that video I definitely don't think I can ride all the time lol I'll definitely give it a shot though and maybe I'll surprise myself by not getting sick on it lol I also agree about Old Country getting more love, hopefully they open up that path now with this and justice league being there. I don't mind the extra walking but if you're trying to get across the park quickly to get some more El Toro rides in that path being open would help big time. I wasn't expecting a coaster this year but I'm still hoping we get some sort of RMC in 2019 or 2020 because a local RMC would be amazing.
  15. I've never been to this park but this looks awesome, definitely going to try to plan a trip to get down there next year after this ride opens. Don't get me wrong we have great parks in my area that everyone would love to have but at the same time I'd absolutely love to have a local RMC. You guys should be thrilled with this!
  16. Didn't have a specific place to post this but Bill won't be happy... http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/2017/08/allegiant_dropping_flights_to_2_florida_cities_fro.html#incart_2box_nj-homepage-featured Looks like Frontier will pick up some slack though... http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/2017/08/frontier_expanding_some_routes_from_trenton-mercer.html
  17. I really need to make it back to Hershey Park. I've only been once back in 2014 and with all the talk about people not being able to keep their hands up on Skyrush I'm really curious to get on it again. I can't remember if I had them up the entire ride or not but I definitely want to try now lol I do remember loving the ride though.
  18. Just being honest here, I think that's actually dumber than not knowing how to use social media correctly. Someone who "deletes Facebook & Twitter" out of protest of the platform, IMO just doesn't know how to use the platform and at the end of the day will be more out of touch with the world than someone who does know how to use those social networks. They aren't bad tools, you just have to not be an idiot when using them, but deleting them makes you a bigger idiot. Sorry, just my personal take on things on someone who is 24/7 engrossed in social media. Agreed here, I follow a lot of things I'm interested in and do get a lot of great information from them. I can easily avoid the morons out there since I don't have to deal with them. I give you full credit for having to deal with the nonsense ya deal with because I know my patience would be lost really quickly.
  19. In case you haven't realized recently, there are a *LOT* of really stupid people on this planet! And it doesn't seem to be getting any "smarter" lately... There's no doubt about that lol I really try to avoid social media most of the time but every now and then I end up venturing over to it and I remember why I don't bother in the first place lol
  20. Word on the street is that the plan is to have a pilot program where they only accept credit for now, but will begin accepting dining passes later this year or early next season. That's great news. Hopefully it turns out well and they keep adding them to other spots.
  21. My favorite comment over there was a woman saying she wasn't sad the ride was leaving cause she rode the ride with her 6 month year old and was upset when he got shot in the face with water. It looks like she finally deleted it because she didn't like all the comments of people telling her that she was moron lol I don't even know how you get on that ride without clearly seeing that people are shooting water at one another.
  22. I'd also skip the safari at Busch Gardens, after looking into it when I was planning my trip I didn't think it was worth the additional money especially because like you great adventure is our home park which has a way better safari with no up charge. You can take the train ride or the sky ride for free and get a great view of the animals at Busch Gardens, the only thing you'll be missing out on is feeding the giraffes, which you can do at great adventure for 5 bucks anyway. If you decide to do anything animal wise that's an up charge I'd do one of the tours at SeaWorld that would interest you. The tour guides and experience were just awesome. We got to hang out with this guy for awhile.
  23. Funspot always runs deals on Black Friday, last year I bought two 1 park passes for 53 bucks including tax. I'm not sure about 2 park passes but I'm sure they will have a deal of some sort. I only bought a 1 park pass cause Mine blower wasn't open yet. I also second the Busch Gardens Williamsburg platinum pass. I did the monthly plan and it comes out to like 38 bucks a month for 2 passes. You also don't have to go to Williamsburg first, I had emailed Busch Gardens Williamsburg and told them I was going to SeaWorld first and they activated them for me and I put the pass numbers right into the app and that scanned me into the park. Once we were inside I went to guest relations and they printed us out card copies of the passes. It's also a great deal because you get 10% off everything in the parks, so if you're drinking and eating a lot you can end up saving quite a bit of money. Another huge advantage of the platinum passes is that it gives you reserved seating for all the animal shows, which is fantastic at SeaWorld. We would show up 10 mins before the show would start and get amazing dead center seats. It's an amazing perk that saves a ton of time. We went at the end of March and quick queues weren't needed at either park since everything besides cheetah run was 1 train waits or less. You can always buy them day off at 1 of the kiosks if you need too. Also the platinum pass gives you 10% off quick queues as well. I really think you'll get your moneys worth out of the platinum pass if you get them. Even more so if you try to get to Williamsburg next year as well. One more thing to add, we did some behind the scenes tours at SeaWorld as well, one was a deal as part of the platinum members perks and it was 2 tickets for a behind the scenes tours for 40 bucks total. We liked that so much that we ended up doing the penguin encounter as well which was amazing, especially cause we got lucky and were the only 2 on the tour. I believe we got 10% off the penguin encounter as well.
  24. Apparently the kiosks won't work with the season dining pass. Not sure why this is since you could use them at Cedar Fair. Hopefully they have the ability to add it at some point.
  25. I didn't even know about this until Saturday when I was driving back from my Cedar Point / kings island / dollywood trip and the local expressways here had the message of "keep lights on during eclipse" lol
