I'll let you in on a little-known secret: There are other Universal parks that aren't in Orlando. Ssh, don't tell. Really? Is it that much different than DFW? SFOT has quite a few guests of the sort you've described, and they've made it work. And on intense rides too. Oh sh*t, that is gangsta. Leave your bag in a cubby, BAM. Sense of justice, gone, just like that. See you, desire to improve the world around me. Nice knowing you, kindness to strangers. Damn, Great Adventure is a rough place. If you've actually read this thread at all numerous people have said that pouches and cubbies don't prevent people from taking cell phones out on rides. That's why Universal Orlando(yes I know they have other parks but clearly pouches don't work here cause they have metal detectors) has metal detectors and that's why great adventure is trying this out.

That looks awesome, there was nobody walking through the gardens area when I was just there so this makes plenty of sense. Did anyone else get a chance to see Dolphin Days yet? I really enjoy SeaWorld, we ended up going 3 days with our Busch Gardens Williamsburg platinum passes. Might try to do another trip there next year and hit up Volcano Bay and some of the other new Orlando attractions.

Honestly, it's cause when someone is "kicked out" of a park, odds are they won't be coming back for a long, long time. They will view Six Flags in a very negative light and will share that opinion with others. Six Flags doesn't want to take the PR hit... It's no different then going into a retail store and basically being able to get away with murder if you threaten to call the "Corporate Office" and lodge a complaint. Same line of thought. I think kicking out people for endangering others makes them look good in the PR department. At least it does to me.

I agree with coasterbill, start actually throwing people out and people might start getting the message more. Unless they are using wands or metal detectors I'll just be responding with no when they ask if I have anything in my pockets since I put my stuff in zippered pockets and have never had an issue. I still can't imagine what this would be like on a bring a friend free day when the lines are ridiculous. There won't be enough lockers for everyone to even use.

I just saw the first showing of Dolphin Days, gotta say I really enjoyed it, even more so than blue horizons. It's more about the relationship that the trainers and Dolphins have together but all of the tricks and actually even more impressive ones are there. The trainers and Dolphins both look like they are having a ton of fun. The only noticeable issue during the show is one of the birds didn't want to fly but everything else looked on point. They pick a little kid out of the audience to help perform some tricks with the Dolphins and I'm sure that made the kids day. There was a lot of talk about how we can be inspired by our experiences here and how coming to SeaWorld supports great causes, I don't feel like conveying any of those messages is a bad thing. I just saw blue horizons the other day so in comparing I actually enjoyed this more. There is no story like blue horizons but I don't think one is needed either, I think most people are there to see the Dolphins do amazing tricks and there is plenty of that. Personally I'm not here to see some divers and acrobatics so I didn't miss that at all in comparison to blue horizons.

I'm really curious to see how volcano bay turns out, that picture above doesn't show I-4 at all. just from driving by the place these past few days I'm very curious to see how they try to cover it up. Just seems like you're going to see i-4 from most of the higher staircases for the different slides. The volcano itself is so much bigger than I expected. I can't wait to go there at some point but I doubt I make it back down here this year.

Actually, yeah! When we go to the water parks we actually like to go either the first couple of hours of the day or the last. Here's why... in those first couple of hours, people haven't bothered to get up and go to a park yet, and you can usually ride almost everything at the park in the morning before the crowds get there. (get there EARLY like 30 minutes BEFORE the park opens!) In the last couple of hours, people start to get tired and stop riding stuff. So I'd say pick a park to start at, get there for opening, spend a couple of hours there, take your time park hopping to the other park, and close that one out! It's totally realistic to be able to do! Just want to say thank you for this amazing tip, we had an awesome day today. Got to typhoon lagoon right as it opened and did everything numerous times. Hung out in the wave pool after finishing the rides, grabbed something to eat and headed over to blizzard beach around 1:30 and was able to do everything over there as well. Crowds were way lighter than I ever expected. Blizzard beach was also trying out the no queue system, I didn't bother trying it because there were basically no lines but it's interesting to see if they are going to make it a complete park thing. I believe it was only being tested on the taller body slide, I forget the name. They were giving out wristbands at the bottom of the steps for a time to come back and then you just walked up when it was your time and they would let you in front of the people in the queue. I would have tried it but I maybe waited 5 mins in the line so I didn't bother.

As many others have said I agree with the too many screens problem. Universal Studios slogan use to be "ride the movies" now it just feels like watching more movies instead of actually experiencing anything. I had gone to both parks in Jan 2016 and while I had fun I see no reason to go back anytime soon. I'm in Orlando visiting again now and I'm skipping those 2 parks and just going to SeaWorld, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Aquatica and fun spot.

Carowinds Discussion Thread

I got to ride intimidator and fury in the rain yesterday, holy hell did that hurt lol it was so much fun though. I'm pretty sure I felt the trim brakes at one point yesterday on intimdatior, maybe due to the rain? Carowinds has some of the best staff I've ever seen. The crew on fury gets trains out at an incredible speed. In the entire park everyone is so pleasant and happy to be there. -

I'm here now, I'm glad I searched this thread for tips before coming. Getting on nighthawk first was a great tip. The line wasn't even that long when we got on it but they take forever. For how nice the weather is plus opening day it's not as crowded as I expected it to be. Intimidator was a ton of fun. Saving fury for last. -
I drove by there on Sunday and there were a ton of cranes there. I'm not surprised but I didn't realize they have been just sitting there lol I don't even pay attention most of the time anymore when I drive by there. The whole thing is a disaster. They should just knock the whole thing down and the arena and just make it into parking for metlife stadium.

I'll be there this weekend for the first time, can't wait. The weather keeps changing but looks like there might be some rain. -
A new virtual reality simulator ride being added for 2018 in Ireland, replacing Europe in the air. I'm not big on virtual reality but I'm just glad they aren't putting VR on any coasters. Im curious to see what the storyline ends up being. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10154588315073315&id=18543728314

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
Satans Hockey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They added a dining plan, it's only for the summer season at the moment. I'm curious to see if they introduce a whole year one now. https://tickets.hersheypa.com/webstore/shop/viewItems.aspx?cg=HPTKTS&c=SPSPECIAL Purchase a Season Pass Holder Summer Dining Plan for one low price, and dine all summer long at more than 10 tasty locations throughout Hersheypark! Meal includes an entree and side. Valid for the summer public operating season 5/5-9/24/17. Must scan Season Pass ID to validate upon redemption. Limit of 2 uses per day per pass. Must wait 90 minutes between uses. -
Maybe Volcano Bay will add that tier system that Disney has? You only get to pick a time for 1 major attraction and than maybe 2 smaller attractions. At least that will help try to keep people busy besides just waiting around not in line. Especially if you can just keep picking attractions with less waits once you redeem them. I'm very curious to see how it all turns out but I'll definitely be waiting to hear reports from everyone here on how it turns out before going myself.

We are apparently getting killed with snow tonight and tomorrow so the end of the month can't get here quick enough.

I've never been to either of the Disney water parks but I'm looking to go to maybe both of them at the end of the month. It says you can go to both on the same day with 1 ticket, is this even realistically possible to do and get on the majority of everything? I'll probably just go to 1 or do both on separate days to not have to rush but I was just curious.

It appears that I won't be visiting the park in May or June. I used to love Sunday mornings at SFGAdv in May and June. Same here, I'll be avoiding those days. I decided to get cedar fair platinum passes and a Busch Gardens Williamsburg platinum pass this year so this makes it an easier choice as to which parks I'll be spending more time at this year.
