  1. Are you a platinum pass member? One of the benefits is the reserved seating for the shows, we showed up for the shows 10 mins before and got seats dead center every time. That feature alone was worth the passes.
  2. Justice League is awesome, I had only been on it once before but it really is such a fun ride. The lines weren't too bad today, I waited probably an hour but I expect the lines to be insane once it opens to everyone else. They did a great job on the theming around the area too with the addition of the bridge and the conversion of the restaurants and stores and bathrooms in the area. Great job by the park giving season pass holders exclusive access today and handing out free Dippin dots to try as well.
  3. I just spent 2 days at the food and wine festival over the weekend. I love this park. It has no chance of happening but I wish my home park of great adventure was owned and run by the same people. Once they worked their magic it would be absolutely amazing. All the food and drinks we had were fantastic. Definitely going to go back next year and I'm already looking forward to our next trip down there.
  4. There would be nothing to even look at if they built it in that location. Something like that overlooking the safari like Busch Gardens Tampa Bay would work but either way it would never happen lol
  5. These folks run two successful malls, gasp, that's right successful. We can complain about their way of doing business but it's getting done and with a hell of a lot more included than the original plans had. Our plan is to leave from New York for a month long trip to Europe in Summer 2019, maybe I'll get to check it out. This place broke ground in 04 and was supposed to originally open in 06 so it's hard to blame anyone for being skeptical about this place actually open in 2019 lol The NHL NJ Devils who use to play at the Meadowlands when this first broke ground left after the 06-07 season and will now have been at their new arena for over a decade before this disaster opens lol
  6. So we did the 6PM version, and lucked out, we were the only ones on the cruise(Wine on the Rhine). You get two servings of beer or wine, and a nice cheese, fruit, and chocolate sampler. The only difference by times is the earlier(4,5,6PM) ones aren't 21+. I thought it was relaxing and you do get a tour guide for the cruise. Awesome thank you! Thanks to everyone else for the comments too. I'm going this weekend mainly for the food and wine festival so was thinking of doing that as well. Figure I'll get some rides in as well but the main focus will be as much food and drinks as possible lol
  7. Has anyone done the Rhine river cruise? Debating doing it but was curious to hear some feedback about it first. This is what it says... "Date Night on the Rhine There is nothing nicer than a cruise along the Rhine River in the heart of the World's Most Beautiful Theme Park - unless you add a sampling of food, various wines and beers. ADULTS ONLY cruises available at 7:00PM & 8:00PM during our Food & Wine Festival"
  8. Great report! I'm curious to see how they get all the kinks worked out for this. The place looks awesome though!
  9. The weekday price is eh but I can at least justify going once this year to finally ride the cyclone and I wouldn't probably ever go back unless something new I actually wanna ride opens. Agreed on the weekend price though, you can get a season pass at six flags for that price lol
  10. Finally!!!! And same, I usually go and ride Thunderbolt and Cyclone a few times and leave because the prices are too high for more than 4 rides. Every year I say I'm going to go but when I end up looking at the prices I go meh and just go to great adventure instead which can actually be a quicker drive than going to Brooklyn most days anyway lol I need to get on the Cyclone at least once though so this would be the perfect way to do it.
  11. Very curious to see the price. Their prices are the main reason I've never bothered going there.
  12. You probably could but if something comes out and hits someone in the face or you simply just lose something that's on you.
  13. I was more just curious cause I haven't seen anyone talk about it much since they first started it. I carry as little as possible on me and never have any issues with zippered pockets otherwise I'd just use the locker. I've been going to other parks a lot more this year even though great adventure is the closest so I still haven't been to the park this season.
  14. Great report and glad you conquered your fear and ended up having a blast! Have you been on any of the tall skyscreamers? The 400+ foot one in new england is one of the few things I ever got a bit nervous on lol Did you tell them yes when they asked you if you had something in your pockets? If you have zippered pockets you should easily be able to tell them no and just keep walking.
  15. So whoever writes the emails for great adventure clearly is on this website, from today lol.... "Why You Need to Ride El Toro in the Front Row Where you sit on a coaster can affect your ride experience. Our guests told us El Toro is more extreme when you sit in the front row. As you approach the top of the giant lift hill, the front car will slowly creep over the hill for a moment of heart-pumping anticipation before plummeting down. The weight of the rear cars will push the front riders down, making your drops feel heavier and faster than the 70 miles per hour you're actually going. While dropping down 176 feet and racing around the track, the front row will also get to see the action coming up ahead. You'll have a clear view to better prepare for the steep drops and banked curves in front of you. Presented by your local Kia dealers."
  16. Great to hear. When were you on it last? I was there opening weekend and it wasn't working correctly.
  17. I haven't been to the park this year yet but last year I would always put the photo numbers in my phone cause I would have several not show up for whatever reason, either user error by the workers or the system not working. I would just add them to the card at the end of the day near the photo booth at the fountain at the kiosks where you could do it yourself. I'm not sure if that's still possible with the new system. I have a cedar fair photo pass for the first time this year and it blows away the system that six flags had in last year. They have self service kiosks and you can just scan your card, select your photo to add and that's it. So much easier and it worked every time.
  18. To me I have no problem with metal detectors at the front of the parks, I actually think universal has the best setup and I've found it to be the quickest. Sure something bad can still happen if people really want to make it happen but I don't see anything wrong with trying to prevent knives and other preventable items into the parks. I had actually just posted this in the Busch Gardens Williamsburg thread but I was surprised going in there because there were no security checks whatsoever unless you had a bag. I'm actually more surprised when parks don't check especially just in case something does happen they look bad for not having measures already in place.
  19. The line still won't be that long because most people are too damn lazy to walk all the way over there for the ride to begin with. I love Zumanjaro, the view is absolutely amazing and I haven't experienced a virtual reality ride that I've enjoyed so far. The one at fun spot was the best one and even that I could have done without. I might give it a shot just to see how it is on a drop tower but meh. I'm ready for this fad to go away.
  20. Nice report! Glad to see someone else loving dolphin days as much as I did. I was down there for the first day of the new show and got to see the very first one and my gf and I both enjoyed it more than blue horizons. We both really loved the food festival as well, we ended up doing the 15 item deal and it lasted us for 3 trips since we didn't spend the whole day any of the days.
  21. Most people that dislike L&B, don't like any Sicilian slices at all. Comparing the taste of L&B to Ellios is like comparing forces on an Intamin to a Pinfari. I wouldn't compare the taste of the two, just the look. I'll have to snap some photos of the Sicilians I normally order. L&b doesn't have enough cheese for me and the sauce is meh
  22. I've lived in NYC my entire life and I've never understood the love l&b gets, if I poll the people I know results are 50-50 when it comes to people liking and disliking them so it's always interesting to me lol to me it reminds me of this...
  23. I'm still really curious to see how they end up trying to hid i-4 from when you're inside the park. I really didn't realize how it's directly next to it until I actually drove by.
  24. I had a great day at Kings Dominion on Saturday. I ended up buying the fast lane plus all season pass when they had go on sale. I figured I'm probably only going to go on Saturdays for the most part. Thrilled with my decision as we saved so much time. I don't know what the wait times actually were for some of these rides but most of the queues had pretty long lines. This was my second visit to the park so I had only been on intimidator 305 two times previously and was really blown away at how intense the ride was as I felt like I could barely keep my eyes open in the front or back row. Now in the past month I went to Carowinds to ride fury 325 and enjoyed it so much that I couldn't wait to get back on intimidator again. I don't know if it was the heat but I really didn't enjoy it, maybe it was just Fury has ruined me or maybe I'm just getting old but I felt like I had my ass kicked. I sat in the second row since the fast lane plus puts you into the station with no way of getting in the front row line. I'm definitely going to give it another shot, maybe at night when it's not so hot. I saw all the hurler work going on from the other rides but I don't know nor care enough about the details to even comment other than I can't wait for it to open since I've loved the 2 RMC coasters I've been on(wicked cyclone and new Texas giant) My one complaint about the park since it's been such a topic over in the great adventure thread is that on my first ride on grizzly during the day someone took out a cell phone on the lift and they stopped the train and the operator was saying sir put your phone away. This selfish idiot took a few minutes before actually listening and putting it away. I couldn't see who had it out but nobody was talked to after the ride ended. All parks need to get more strict about this and just start throwing people out. Make some examples out of people so at least some will think twice about it. That being said I also had my first night ride on grizzly and that was so much damn fun. It felt so much faster than during the day and it was so dark that both factors just increased how much damn fun it was. Overall an amazing day at a really enjoyable park.
  25. I was at the park yesterday, this was my second visit and my first time with a Busch Gardens platinum pass. I really enjoy everything about this park. One thing I found odd especially cause I was just at 4 other parks in their chain in the last month(Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, adventure Island, SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica Orlando) was that they weren't using metal detectors to get into the park. I just simply walked straight in cause they were only checking bags. I just found it strange since the other 4 I went to all made everyone go through a metal detector. Wait times weren't so bad yesterday, I expected to wait for Invdr and ended up waiting about 80 mins. I really enjoyed the ride but I wouldn't wait that long again for it. My only complaint is that the overflow line queue really needs some shade. I enjoy Verbolten so much, might be my favorite ride in the park. I can't wait to get back down there for the food and wine festival.
