  1. There's a saying never trust a man with two first names and boy does that ever fit here. This whole indictment is a horrible and crazy read. I've never been to Schlitterbahn but I went by the park and saw the ride from the highway. I'm not normally intimidated by rides but I'm honestly not sure I would ever have gotten on this thing.
  2. I absolutely love Verbolten, I had no idea it even had a drop track the very first time I went on it. It was awesome and I wish I bought that video for our reactions lol The view near the water is still awesome and I've never had any issues feeling uncomfortable when it comes to riding it.
  3. the park is gonna be dead. everyone is heading over to KD for the opening of a RMC, Twisted Timbers. Whats the point to go to SFgadv for nothing new. you know NYC and Philly are full of people who don't give two sh*ts about Twisted Timbers or Kings Dominion right? It might not be that far fetched. I don't think that the Basic B---- GPer is going to be bothered to make it for opening weekend in cold temperate anyway. The most likely guests are the diehards. So they might be willing to make the drive. I think it's pretty far fetched to assume that more than a very small percentage of people are getting in there cars and driving 4-7 hours depending on where you are around here just to go ride Twisted Timbers. I'm extremely excited to to down there but in my group of friends who just enjoy going to great adventure here and there haven't even heard or Kings Dominion let alone know about their new ride lol
  4. Love the report! I absolutely love SeaWorld, I highly recommend doing some of the animal encounters if you get a chance next time. We did a penguin encounter and the behind the scenes tours and it was amazing. I'm trying to get back down there soon and definitely plan on doing some more of the encounters.
  5. Some people aren't happy unless they are complaining about something. I'm not going this weekend but I think it looks absolutely amazing and a total blast to ride. I got the skip the line season pass this year and plan on riding the hell out of it when I go. I'm hoping to get there sometime in April.
  6. I'm pretty sure I had read that most people aren't even aware of the other six flags parks because they are so regional so the name thing doesn't mean anything to them to begin with. A lot of people go to their local park, get on the rides, have some fun and go home. They don't nitpick everything like most enthusiasts do.
  7. I'm really curious to find out where the merge point is as well. I got the all season fastlane pass last year and loved it so I got it again this year. The price went up quite a bit but with twisted timbers being added I figure I'll get my moneys worth out of it.
  8. Nice report, I really enjoyed Adventure Island when I went. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. It wasn't a huge park but the slides they have a great and the lines weren't very long for any of them the day I went.
  9. If someone buys a refillable cup instead of the Cedar Fair drink plan with paper cups for the same price then they deserve to pay extra because they're stupid. This is an entirely avoidable charge. It's been commonplace at a ton of Cedar Fair parks for years (decades even). Why the sudden outrage? It's not like it's the Great Adventure policy. It's entirely reasonable. I love the paper cup drink plan and I wish six flags would do the same. I don't drink a ton of soda as it is so being able to just get a small cup of soda or whatever other drink I want without having to carry around that huge souvenir cup is worth it to me. There is no reason anyone should be drinking that much soda a day anyway, we all know it's terrible for us but I will say I do understand it for the families that share 1 souvenir cup amongst themselves.
  10. The hard hat concept is definitely interesting, I'm curious to see how that goes with people dropping them and general wear and tear. I'm looking forward to checking this out, it looks great.
  11. I logged in to try to upgrade my platinum pass online to a premier membership since it's only $1 more per pass for me and apparently you can only do it over the phone or in person. It's 2018, this should be an easy thing to do on the computer.
  12. I haven't done it at Valleyfair but I've used Uber for several other parks and all the drivers knew where to drop off and pick up. Worst case scenario if they can't find you they will call you to figure out where you are, which I've had happen before using their service. When you first sign up there's usually a promo for a large discount./first free ride too. I almost always rent a car too but Uber is perfect for the food and drink festivals in Florida and Williamsburg lol
  13. Awesome report, Charlie Brownies look amazing lol This event seems like it would be a great idea to have at other cedar fair parks.
  14. There's nothing wrong with El Toro. I'm looking forward to getting out to the park more this year. This whole year on the east coast is going to be a blast. Can't wait to get down to Kings Dominion a bunch of times too.
  15. I could see them just using that space for another haunt trail / attraction.
  16. I haven't been to the park since September and didn't go a lot this year but I still renewed my passes cause it's still an amazing deal, just didn't find time this year. I'd say today is most likely the last day, I can't see them opening tomorrow if it snows.
  17. I think thats the first time I ever remember seeing anyone say "that ride is excellent" when talking about green lantern lol
  18. Anyone been to the Halloween event yet? I'm trying to make it down there for it this year.
  19. I went the first weekend and enjoyed them all, I thought the new house tourist trap was pretty well done too.
  20. Great reports as always, I've never really paid any attention to Great America just because I haven't had the time to get out that way for a trip but reading that you think Raging Bull is way better than Nitro has me really curious and wanting to plan a trip now just because I love Nitro so damn much. I've also loved every B&M hyper that I've ever been on though so maybe I'm just not that picky lol
  21. Just chiming in a bit on my experiences last year with El Toro because I went to the park so many times and I witnessed so many people on the ride take out their cell phones. I have ended up just sitting towards the front of the train lately because I got tired of covering my face up in the back of the train cause I could see some selfish moron with their cell phone out a bunch of times. At least if I'm in the first few rows it lessens the odds of this happening plus I can actually yell at the people to put it away. The park was sued last year because someone said they were blinded in one eye from a cell phone hitting them on El Toro. I think thats the major reason the park put this policy in for this year but it's still half assed because I've seen people with their phones out this year as well on the ride and I've easily been able to walk into the line with stuff in my zippered pockets just by telling the guard I didn't have anything. I don't like the current policy but it's becoming a real problem because some of these people are just selfish morons that only care about themselves and taking shitty videos on the ride. Personally I would like to see stiffer penalties for people being caught with their phones out on the rides, from what I've seen and read the park doesn't really do anything. These people should be thrown out and banned for a few years. Maybe if the parks would start setting examples out of people it would wake some of these idiots up. It's a shitty situation and I agree I don't like paying money to go to a park just to be treated like I'm an irresponsible moron but I just don't know how you fix it since there are always going to be stupid people.
  22. I went to the Fright fest trails last year and they really aren't worth the crazy high prices they are at now. If you got them when they first went on sale at least you could some what justify it but definitely not now that the prices went up.
  23. This thread is the perfect example of why a theme park review awards that we all vote on would never work. It's impossible to weed out all of the morons.
  24. I don't get why everyone says that El Toro is the greatest wooden coaster on earth. When it's really not. There are several wooden coasters out there that are far superior than El Toro. . . I mean, El Toro isn't "bad" but it really isn't the "greatest woodie on earth." That's why it's called an opinion, if you're riding El Toro and you get off and go ah geez *this coaster* and *this coaster* is so much better than El Toro then you're doing it wrong.
  25. Universal doesn't own it but seeing the Bourne posts makes me wish they had the rights to do something for James Bond.
