  1. I love SeaWorld so much, also can't recommend the tours enough and you get a discount with the season pass. We did the behind the scenes tour and the penguin encounter and both were fantastic.
  2. They have really done a good job at adding stuff into that area if they put a discovery there. I haven't been on cyborg yet but that justice league and possibly a discovery and it's really shaped out well. I do wish they would put some sort of flat rides over by the Zumanjaro path though, there is a decent amount of room there and would give people more of a reason to walk out that way.
  3. That's amazing, I wonder how many others bailed when they mentioned they had to pay to have a Sinbad show too haha
  4. Yup, and oh look the Sinbad show is closing, perfect spot for a potter hotel haha. Curious to see how long Poseidon's Fury lasts now, that takes up a lot of space between the building and the whole water area in front of it.
  5. You don't think they are going to have their labor day sales where you can get a membership cheaper than that? I'm paying $5 and change right now from last years labor day sale. I know they rolled out this new memberships after that but I'd still be surpised to see them not roll out their usual labor day sale prices.
  6. People tend to forgot how awesome these rides are for kids. I absolutely loved all these types of rides when I was young because all I ever wanted to do was be able to drive something. Of course when you get older and end up driving all the time and have to deal with traffic your interest isn't going to be there for something like this but this is still an awesome addition and families will love it.
  7. For me it's not the cost of the monthly payment that bothers me... It's more the "why pay for something I'm not really using" factor. We typically hit up SEVERAL Six Flags parks early on in the season, and then a few Six Flags parks late in the season. So a traditional season pass makes sense. Where as a membership it's like "Why pay every month for all these months in the middle that we never use it?" I'm sure I am in the minority here... But the membership just doesn't make sense for us. Personally. That being said, obviously they are doing great for Six Flags, or they wouldn't be pushing them as much as they are. *ding ding ding* This is my exact issue with them... Is I just can't justify paying a monthly payment (no matter how small) for months on end when I'm not even using it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's still the same money though no matter which way you look at it. You're either paying $65 or so up front or $5 and change a month so the membership doesn't bother me because it's not costing more. As long as you go more than 3-4 times a year it easily pays for itself. I'll definitely hit up the park more to get my money's worth and I'm going to great America for a day too so that makes it worth it too, I've just been busier this year and been going elsewhere. I'm only considering canceling come December and joining again in September 2019 simply because I have no plans next year to go to any other six flags parks and I can wait until September to hit up great adventure again cause even though it's my home park and it has great rides I just enjoy going to Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion more.
  8. I've never taken it but they use to have a shuttle bus going back and forth between the two parks unless they removed it this year.
  9. I would pay in full too but I don't see the monthly thing as a deal breaker, especially cause it's not expensive. I switched to a membership last year before they made the bigger changes simply because I didn't want to have to go to the park before October 31st to get my free upgrade to gold again. I've been debating canceling my membership in December though and waiting until next September to sign up again simply because I haven't been going a lot. I've been going to Busch and Kings Dominion more this year even though it's way further.
  10. Everything looks so fantastic, those frozen drinks look absolutely awesome. I wish I could sneak in a trip down for this but got too many trips planned at the moment.
  11. People go to Dorney for the water park, the rides side is just a bonus. They also put money into the Haunts which bring people in. I enjoy Dorney for what it is but people always try to spin Dorney into trying to be something more than it is and its just not going to happen.
  12. What an absolute moron, even more so cause he could have just paid $10 to rent a spot at the kennel that's conveniently right at the park.
  13. Looking back on it I booked the hotel in March so I don't think the calender was completely out yet. Not a big deal, I'll never complain about an extra day at Cedar Point! Lol I may just try to squeeze in a stop on my way home if possible.
  14. So I had a trip planned of Kennywood, Cedar Point and Six Flags Great America at the end of August... I go to double check the hours at Kennywood and it's not even open now for the last basically 2 full weekdays of August, including Fridays. I could be wrong but I could have sworn I checked the hours before booking my hotel a bunch of months back, it's not a big deal cause it's a free to cancel anyway but just disappointed I'll be missing the park when I'll be basically driving by anyway. Is their schedule always like this?
  15. I always take Ubers to and from the park when we go to the food and wine festival. It's never been more than $7 and change each way.
  16. Great report! You're spot on with the comparison between the safaris too. Disneys themeing is always top notch and easily wins in that area. I think I just focus on the animals more and I always end up on rides at GA where they get so much closer to the vehicles. The giraffes almost always end up sticking their heads into the vehicle lol Disney definitely has the superior ride aspects but I think I'd take GA if I really had to choose just because of the animals themselves. Either way it was just for discussion sake because I love both safaris and they are some of my favorite things to do in any park. I haven't been to animal kingdom since 2016 but your reports got me itching to hop on a cheap Frontier flight and get back down there. Just haven't been able to find the time to squeeze a trip in. I'm glad you guys had a blast down there!
  17. When you're in the Dollywood area definitely do one of the mountain coasters. It only takes a few mins and they are a blast. We only did the goats on the roof mountain coaster during the day and came back at night cause rerides are cheaper the same day. Awesome experience. I think you just hyped El Toro up in your head too much, it's an absolute amazing coaster and only setting some unrealistic bar would leave anyone disappointed coming off that ride. Did you get to try Justice League? It's really a great ride too.
  18. Great report as always, I skipped over the avatar stuff just because I haven't been back there yet since it opened and I've been avoiding reading or seeing anything about it but Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parks as well. Everything about the place is done so well. Can't wait to get back and I really want to sneak in a trip this year but I just don't see it happening. Did you get a chance to ride the safari for the next report? I'm curious to see what you thought of it and how it compares to great adventure. It's one thing I think great adventure actually beats Disney at because I feel like you get much closer to all the animals at great adventure. Both are still fantastic though.
  19. Delaware opened their's earlier this month and New Jersey opened their's 2 weeks ago.
  20. So I got an email from SeaWorld late last night, apparently they settled this class action lawsuit and some people are entitled to some free popcorn now lol.... This whole thing just seems like a massive waste of time and money of the court system just to get some free popcorn out of SeaWorld lol... This is from a Google search about it... https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/closed-settlements/832470-seaworld-customer-receipt-class-action-settlement/ And this is from the email I received... "Pursuant to the Settlement Agreement and final order of the Court approving the settlement in the matter of Diaz v. SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc., et al, SeaWorld has chosen popcorn as the free food concession item. Accordingly, if you have received this email as an entitled Class Member you may follow the steps below to obtain two (2) certificates each of which shall entitle you to one free bag of popcorn (2 bags in total) from any concession stand within a SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment theme park where such item is sold. Each certificate shall be valid for 2 years from the date of issuance. You will not be required to pay the stated purchase price for the concession or tax. Park admission is required in order to redeem this offer."
  21. This looks awesome! We enjoyed typhoon lagoon more than blizzard beach just because they had more tube rides and stuff we could do together. Both water parks are still some of the absolute best though and I can't wait to get back down there again, we would definitely give this a try.
  22. One bright spot which I'm hoping changes things here is that in Atlanta at the new stadium where the NFL Falcons play they lowered all their concession prices and brought in more revenue so maybe other stadiums and theme parks will finally follow suit and do the same... https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/01/25/sports/football/nfl-concessions.html
  23. Loving the report and finding all the information incredibly helpful as I'm looking to go to Japan in late December/early January. Haven't mapped out the whole trip yet as I've been debating just staying in the Tokyo area or going around to different cities as well. Definitely thinking about not bothering with Universal now but I'd like to go to Spa Land. I really need to get planning on it, probably gonna splurge and stay at one of the Disney hotels for a few nights at least too.
  24. Busch Gardens Williamsburg had paper straws when I went to the food and wine festival this year, they are awful. I ended up using about two straws per frozen drink because they kept getting clogged and end up looking like someone chewed on them when I didn't lol and it affects the taste cause it really does feel like you have paper in your mouth. I'm totally behind getting rid of plastic straws but paper straws aren't the answer for me. I'll just bring a reusable straw for myself next year.
