  1. In Japan there was a TOGO stand-up that ran one sitting train and one stand-up one. What if that were done to B&M stand-ups?One ain could be standing, another would be sitting and BACKWARDS !
  2. I guess turning Hurricane Harbor into some sort of Great Wolf-type place is out of the question.
  3. SFA had one too back when it was "Wild World":It was called Cinema 180 and from my recollection it was where the entrance to Coyote Creek is now.
  4. While it does seem odd that Lakemont would close for the summer(especially since it's Leap The Dips' 115 anniversary),people are only missing out on Skyliner,LTD,and the miniature railway. PS-It would be hilarious if Lakemont got Knott's Boomerang!!
  5. How about WDW and SFA?Then we would finally have Disney's America !! And how about Knoebel's or Kennywood combined with Conneaut Lake?
  6. From my understanding the Maryland Great America was originally planned for being near Merriweather Post Pavilion/Columbia Mall but those developers raised a ruckus about it.Later on I heard that another location closer to Baltimore was offered, but Marriott was already looking to get out of the amusement industry.
  7. For me it's basically KD's Anaconda and SFA's Batwing. With Anaconda I sort of understand the hate-the midsection helixes can be jarring, but when Batwing is running properly it's a great ride!
  8. By the way, there's plenty of stories online about Eleanor,a little girl who supposedly was buried somewhere nearby(I've heard it was around either Wild One's or Joker's Jinx stationhouse). And I think Facebook has a couple of pictures of the inside of Hall Manor.
  9. Count me in on the Houdini fan club-it helps Great Adv. to have a dark ride. They just need to keep the preshow effects working properly. And since HITP looks like it's going to be an annual thing, how about a Christmas re-theme of Houdini just for December-like involving the Ghost Of Christmas Past?
  10. The main defunct park I'm intrigued by is Circus World-mostly because I got to go to WDW several times as a kid,but never got to try it. Other parks I would give an honorable mention to:Riverview,Old Chicago,Astroworld, the California Busch Gardens, the 1964/65 World's Fair,Glen Echo Park and NJ's Palisades.
  11. The only missed coaster on my list so far is KD's King Kobra;I was always too busy riding everything else(ex:Grizzly,RY & Haunted River)and I always thought "next time I'll do it" .....
  12. I've had plenty of ERT at Great Adv. over the years, and I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the area around Medusa/Bizarro and RMT.That whole area at night can get pretty dark and very quiet.
  13. For Kings Dominion: 1-Getting rid of The Haunted River. 2-Getting rid of a lot of trees & foliage around Grizzly. 3-Back-filling Lake Charles and building waterslides in the middle of a dry ride area.
  14. Of parks I've been to before but anytime in the last 15+ years:WDW and both Busch Gardens. Of parks I've never been to: -Anaheim Disneyland -Knott's Berry Farm -SF Magic Mountain -King's Island -Cedar Point -The parks in Pennsylvania I haven't ben to yet(I've only been to Lakemont,Waldameer, and Conneaut). After that I'd like to try all the European and Japanese parks.
  15. For SFA I'd say: 1-Wild One 2-S:ROS 3-Batwing 4-Joker's Jinx 5-Roar 6-Ragin' Cajun 7-Mind Eraser 8-The ghost of Two-Face 9-Apocalypse:The Last Stand
  16. My favorite sounds: -That B & M roar. -The overall sound of an Arrow:the old-school clicking of the OTSRs,the chain lift, and some Arrows(it mostly seems like the mega-loopers) seem to have a low rumbling sound(as opposed to B & M's roar). -The sounds of Premier launched coasters, mostly that popping "poof" before the actual launch(I'm not sure if it's the LIM's starting up or the brakes). -The rattling of Intamin Freefalls. And there is a sound I find annoying(but don't actually hate) is the metal-on metal screeching of some old woodies;Great Adv.'s Rolling Thunder was a serious repeat offender.
  17. For Great Adventure: 1-Getting rid of GASM and Rolling Thunder .RT was a unique racer and GASM helped make Great Adv. part of the "coaster wars". 2-Not building Hurricane Harbor as part of the theme park. 3-Not building a hotel-or at least allowing an outside party build & operate it. For SFA: 1-Not building around the train EX:Gotham could/should have been where the catering area is now. 2-Not keeping Python. 3-Not building Ultra-Twister.
  18. Is there any info in the Amusement Attic about a place called Laser World in Orlando,Florida? The place I'm talking about was opened in downtown Orlando around 1980/81 in an old movie theater;basically all it was was people doing sci-fi style dance routines to pre-recorded music with laser patterns projected behind them.I know I didn't dream this but I can't find anything online about it ....
  19. I would have loved to have gone on the ORIGINAL versions of SFNE's Cyclone,Fiesta Texas' Rattler, and SFMM's Colossus-by "original" I mean when they were first built(especially Cyclone's and Rattler's first drops). And although not exactly a "ride",I would have loved to been able to experience Terror On Church Street!
  20. You look up TV listings to see when the "Brady Bunch" & "Partridge Family" episodes at Kings Island will be on.
  21. I think it was a major case of "way too much way too soon".Premier Parks started out buying up small parks like Wild World/Adventure World and did ok,but then somehow bought the SF chain.Admittedly there was a coaster war going on-with parks building B&M and Intamin rides every year and the crowds were eating it all up-but Premier/SF bought & built their way into financial trouble.Just look at all the other parks that had been "flagged" and then sold off or closed:Elitch,Geauga,Astroworld, the parks in Europe...SFA has had tough times, but I think it's fighting its way to success.
  22. Speaking of solar farms-isn't NJ the only state where you can't pump your own gas or make left turns?
  23. Are you referring to the indoor park that briefly existed in Baltimore's inner harbor? Yes.I only got to go there once on Labor Day weekend 1985(its first summer). The Sensorium was the best thing because the word "4D" didn't exist yet.
  24. What if Dragon Mountain got converted by Vekoma with LIMs on the lift hill?
