  1. Long ago when I was bored I made a quadruple racing coaster in RCT2. I used the looping coaster design, because I've always had a soft spot for Revolution, tidal Wave and other Schwarzkopf coasters. I remembered though that I never got it to work quite the way I wanted it to so I tried to reconstruct it in RCT3's sandbox mode to tinker with the idea of a working quadruple racer a couple of days ago and this time I was able to complete it. Now The thing about a somewhat compact (38 x 22) quadruple racer is that you can never (especially in RCT3) get rid of all the head choppers, but as a fantasy coaster I think I did pretty well. I just arbitrarily called it the Four Horsemen because it was the first thing to pop into my mind. Track color code: Death = Black/Blue Pestilence = Green War = Red Famine = Beige/Yellow Just an overhead photo for now to give you the idea of how many crossovers there are. Yes it actually works as a racing coaster. More pics to come soon. Oh and by the way it is also a mobile coaster, yep that's all one track.
  2. Speed at Oakwood is very smooth as well. the only real instance of head banging happen in the sudden transition from the mid course brakes to the heart line roll.
  3. Good luck an hopefully you won't find boot camp as bad it's made out to be in the movies. Who knows, if the army has a newspaper they circulate among the troops you could try to be their comic artist.
  4. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation Just about everyone I've shown this too thinks this guy is one of the funniest video game reviewers out there. Not much else to say just check him out, there aren't many reviews because he's new at this but every review he's done is pure gold. Warning: It is probably not safe for work.
  5. Looks like a fun ride, I wonder how it will compare to Kentucky Rumbler which is currently my favorite GCI. I think that wooden coasters will be growing trend in the Six Flags Chain because they are more family friendly and much cheaper to manufacture and build when compared steel prices now days. I just hope Six Flags will give these new coasters the extra TLC they need to age gracefully.
  6. I just want to tell you that you could probably ride all the rides at Beech Bend in less than half a day, so you might want to give yourself more time at other parks.
  7. An extraordinary video. I nearly expected to see ghosts in he ballroom part of the ride. Hands down the best RCT video I've ever seen.
  8. When I was at Kings Island this summer quite a few od the ride ops said they hated to working for Cedar Fair. Though the reason why I can't quite remember. Bad sort term memory seems to be a running theme in my family...
  9. Looks like it from the photos. I've only been on Rita though so there might be some differences.
  10. Cue asshole jokes in 5, 4, 3, 2...
  11. Good to hear that you are not going to Iraq, but sorry to hear the the IVF didn't work, don't give up though. So will you continue to be stationed in Japan or have you already been moved somewhere else?
  12. I remember reading something a while back about this. I've tried seaching for the article but can't find it. It was about how both sides (the animal rights activists and the seal hunters/canadian gov.) tell the whole truth about what is going on, and the activists are by no mean totally innocent in their campaign to stop the hunt. In other words this has become political. I'll post the article if I find it. I'm not saying that the hunting is good or anything, I just trying to say that the activists methods against this are not white, just another (probably lighter) shade of gray. I always try to research before I put my name on anything. Do i want the hunting to stop? Yes, but I need to find out 100% about what is going on first.
  13. This is not a which is better thread, I'm just curious about the percentage of mac to PC users on the forums. Also I might as well combine two polls into one. What internet browser do you use to visit TPR? If you have both (multiple computers or multiple browsers) choose the one you use most often to visit TPR on. Again this is not about preference, this is about what you actually use. Other OS is for those people who run any other OS other than OSX or windows. Other Browser is self explanatory Really I'm just curious about the statistics.
  14. Alright, after a quick read through of this thread nobody seems to have a problem with these amusement parks: Best Children’s Park Legoland California, Carlsbad, Calif. Never been to the California one, so I can't really argue. Best Marine Life Park SeaWorld Orlando, Orlando, Fla. Again, never been so can't argue. Best Seaside Park Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Santa Cruz, Calif. No argument here, though I've never been to an east coast seaside park. If this were for best boardwalk Indiana beach would give it a run for it's money. But including parks outside of the United states I'm sure Blackpool PB would win this if more voters had been there. I'll give SCBB some credit, though, as being the cleanest and least grungy out of all the boardwalk/seaside parks I've been to. If only the actual beach were cleaner... Best Kids’ Area Kings Island, Kings Mills, Ohio A nice kids area definitely, but Disney should of had this one, and maybe they will once the Tom Sawyer Island remodel is done. Best Landscaping - Amusement Park Busch Gardens Europe, Williamsburg, Va. Again you'd think Disney would get this one, never been to BGE though so I can't really comment. Friendliest Staff Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, Santa Claus, Ind. They were nice enough, thought I'm pretty sure I've experienced better, I just can't remember where at the moment... Oh that's right, Liseberg. I won't get into the whole what rides are better arguement, because I think that is more of a matter of opinion aka exaggerated memory than actual experience. Though, I'll throw in my own two cents on the most contested ride category, my favorite woodie. Thundercoaster at TusenFryd in the rain. It was more insane and out of control than Voyage and yet beat me up less. Balder was great too, but it didn't seem all that out of control...
  15. It's not only that they are near the San Jose airport but also Moffett Air base. So basically they have an airport within a couple of miles to the north and south. Didn't Great America actually get approval to build a 220ft Intamin hyper called rebel rocket (or something like that) seven or so years ago, only to have the Paramount chain decide against it at the last moment. Talk about a rumor from the past... Great TR, I'm glad to see you finally visited Nor Cal's best amusement park (SCBB) and hope that next time you come to visit there will be something more here.
  16. I don't think its an issue of space. It's an issue of price. Since the iPod Touch uses Flash Memory (no moving parts) they could easily create an 128gb iPod touch and have the iPod no bigger than the ones out right now. The problem is that while a 120gb magnetic hard drive costs about $100 (give or take a few bucks) a 128gb flash hard drive is selling for $1000 (give or take a few hundred), last I checked. Flash Memory is faster and is much less likely to fail or skip. It's also a lot more expensive to fabricate the chips.
  17. Still it would be so much easier to be able to have 3 or 4 different views on the screen at one time. Oh well. maybe it'll happen in a future version of the program. I have version 1.60 is that the newest? Also I'm running on a Mac (and having no problems), but I would like to know how can I open up the .nlpack track files?
  18. I am very new at No limits and would love to dive into the program and start building, but as with any type of simulator it is just not that easy. I have perused other threads asking questions about how to do certain things, but my search did not turn up an official FAQ thread so I thought it would be a good idea to start one. First of all this thread was the one that answered most of my questions about making smooth inversions, so I'm linking to it for other NL newbies. My main question that I have right now is: Is there any way I can open up multiple windows in the track editor? I've used 3d compositing programs to add special effects to some of my student videos and I've always found it a great help to open up multiple windows viewing a 3d object from different angles. (usually one depicting the top view, one the front view and one the side view) it helps me immensely when trying to figure out an objects position in 3d space.
  19. If anyone remembers, the first generation iPods were only like 5 and 10 gb. So really it'll probably take the iPod touch a good 3 to 5 generations to get where the iPod video is right now in terms of space. And because it's flash memory the future hard drive sizes will probably be something like 32gb, 64gb, 128gb, and so on.
  20. Well first of all you'd have to have one hell of a heavy counter weight on the opposite end of the arm, that would take a lot of strain off of the motor.
  21. After much thought probably the best choice of coaster, if the boardwalk were to ever build another, would be probably be a custom spinning coaster. They could easily fit something built by Maurer Söhne in almost anywhere without upsetting the locals.
  22. I wonder if on the really crowed days does the Giant Dipper still close midday for the mechanics to walk the track? I know they walk the track three times a day normally. The one thing I wish the boardwalk would get is another coaster. The hurricane is fun and the Dipper is a classic but I can't help but feel that they need some thing with more intensity. Even if it is just a small shuttle coaster. it doesn't have to be big (if i recall correctly the park cannot build anything higher than the Dipper with the double shot being the only exception) just intense. Of course they might not want to do this because they are, in every essence of the word, a family park and probably want to keep it this way. Great TR, though all the blurry night shots made my eyes ache.
  23. If you crossbred a Pug with a miniature Poodle would the result be called a Puddle?
  24. I could see something as large as that being built in Las Vegas.
  25. If it is something private you want to tell them than yeah include a letter or an email. If it is just stuff like age and passport information (if you are planning on attending the Europe trip) they will give you a form to fill out for all that stuff usually after you send in the second non-refundable deposit in February.
