Give yourself time to drive up there if you want to have a full day. It is about 40 miles north of LAX and the LA traffic will easily make that drive a good hour and a half, if not two hours, long.

I don't know, it looks a little like the Pinfari Inverted designs. Having a track design quite similar to the Bat Coaster that was located at Nigloland. http://rcdb.com/ig1482.htm?picture=2 <> I just noticed that they are located Italy as well. I wonder if they are made up of some Pinfari's former employees?

Wow. My condolences. I assume he was an animal lover as well with the donations going to the Humane Society. -
Sorry to hear about the park being so packed. Usually you can get all your rides done two hours after opening (that is if they are running more than one train on Roar and Kong) and then spend the busiest part of the day going to the shows and doing the interactive animal stuff, then, once the place clears out in the evening, get all the rerides you want. For Great America don't overlook the water park. It may be small, but the slides that they do have are really fun. Especially the one with the bunny hop. As for the coasters. If your are dead set on getting all of the credits I'd say head to the back of the park first (stopping by Invertigo along the way) and hit the low capacity stuff like the wild mouse and the kiddie credit. The park is one big circle so it's easy to plan out your day otherwise. Top Gun's line moves fast, but is always long. Vortex is down more than any other B&M I've encountered so be sure to ride it ASAP once it opens. The Demon rarely has a line longer than 10min. If you thought Roar was bad I can't wait to hear your opinion of the Grizzly.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Probably just a new maintenance shed. Like Holiday world, they are just showing pictures of the construction site for free press. If it is a flat ride, I'd say its probably a topspin, or a maybe a Disco like the one at (formally Paramount's) Great America. -
Maverick - Is it worth the wait?
darklingscribe replied to jason10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes. Just watch out for the spiders which haunt its queue and like to drop onto unsuspecting coaster enthusiast. Seriously we counted more spiders in that line than any other place on the entire Midwest trip. The ride itself is pretty good and the speed of the LIM lift hill is cool and very surprising on your first ride. -

Great memories. There are probably a number of pictures of the pink waterside incident, I think five or six people were taking photos as Robb & company came down, it's just a matter of finding them amongst the 44,000 Robb has collected. -
SFDK and Great America Help

I'd avoid both parks on the Saturday. Both will be packed. Maybe you should head out to SCBB for saturday as there are less rides there and crouds might be more manageable (though the traffic to the beach will be terrible). I'd suggest Discovery Kingdom on Sunday and Great America on Monday, as Great America's tiny water park draws insane crowds on the weekend. -

Today was amazing. The back seat of Cyclops is beyond anything I have experienced. It is, for me, the best coaster at Mt. Olympus. I've got pics, but am to freaking tired to post them. Going to bed. -

June 20th. When was the last time you were on a boat (theme park rides do not count)? -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
darklingscribe replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If Holiday World were to get a steel coaster in a couple of years I'd expect it to be something along the lines of the coasters made by Maurer Söhne or Gerstlauer. They're cheap when compared to most other steel coasters and fun. -
Happy Birthday, Lou. I hope your doing well, and will party hard.

Blood Rush...

Wow, I never knew this many hypochondriacs existed on the TPR forums. -
I've never been to Blizzard Beach, but I have been to Typhoon Lagoon. The wave pool can be very fun and there is a fair amount of things to do. But it is really a relaxed kind a water park which is a great place to lounge around at on days you need a little down time. The sheer amount of tropical plants is great and I remember the lazy river was amazing, really making you feel like you were in the center of a jungle. Blizzard Beach does have more stuff to do though.

Blood Rush...

I have low blood pressure and after a long day at a theme park the more intense inverted coasters (such as Nemisis and Batman: the Ride clones) are really painful on my feet. I think this is pretty normal and can be avoided if I just stiffen the muscles in my feet during the ride. After any long day of walking you feet will be swollen which makes the nerve endings in them a little more sensitive to g forces, personally I don't think it is anything to be worried about unless the pain is unbearable. -

I just did a screen shot because of my browser's pop up blocker. They didn't offer a body type with wide shoulders and a gut, so just imagine a small gut in there as well. I also really wanted to put in a five O'clock shadow, but the only one they offered didn't match my chin type. My chin is massive by the way, though not quite the size of Jay Leno or Quentin Tarantino.

I prefer OSX, it is just less tedious for me to navigate in. I switched because I wanted to learn Final Cut Pro.

RCT4?
darklingscribe replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I would like it be able to take your RCT1,2&3 park files and translate them in to its new engine. so you can play any scenario from any expansion pack, and also see how all of your old parks look in detail with a better engine and less slowdown. -
Greatest coaster? Depends on how you look at it. If you consider greatest as "most influential to the industry" We have a whole different argument. There is the first one ever built called the Switchback Railway in the late 1800s at Coney Island. Then there is the Coney Island Cyclone which is the most copied wooden coaster design that I know of. The Beast is often cited as one of the most influential by coaster designers. The Matterhorn at Disneyland was the first to use steel tube track. Then there is the Revolution at Magic Mountain which was the first modern coaster to have a vertical loop.
