  1. You've got compression going on as well on a Hd camcorder that uses minidv tapes. and minidv tapes only hold 12gb of info. raptorcrew2002 is that $859 including tax? The reason why I ask is that Costco online has the same camera without warranty for $729.99. I find i prefer buying from Costco than Best Buy and I find that American Express will offer warranties on my purchases. I, myself, just bought the Canon HV30, not because I prefer minidv but because I have so many unused tapes that it would be a waste to switch to another recording format.
  2. I'm looking forward to riding this sometime in the next couple of weeks. Though something tells me it won't even come close the experience of riding Dragon's Fury at Chessington World of Adventures. At least they didn't just settle for the Zamperla spinning mouse.
  3. I would really like to go, it would be a great way to celebrate the end of finals week. I don't know if I can, would need to find someone to take care of my dogs for the weekend.
  4. I probably needs a bit more weight to the car to flip. I'd wait to see what it's like with a full load before passing judgment.
  5. The River Troy huh? I guess calling it the Scamander would have been just too intellectual.
  6. I remember reading an interesting thread on this site a year or two ago, about a couple who had arranged for their wedding to be at an Alton Towers hotel a year in advance and as a apart of the arrangement all of their guests would have access to the park after the wedding. Then Alton went and rented out the park on the same weekend to a Muslim organization. And then told the wedding people that it was too bad and if they wanted to have access to the park after the wedding. And the only way they would be admitted was if they followed all of the Muslim organization's dress codes and codes of conduct. I personally thought that in this particular instance Alton Towers was being unfair. Be it a Muslim or any other religious group I don't think Alton had to right to say that the wedding guests had to follow a code of conduct set by the organization that rented the park when the wedding had been booked first.
  7. Wonderful. Sunny, around 72f, no wind. They say it'll reach 85 on Saturday.
  8. Look in your manual. It will tell you what to press to do a hard reset. Just make sure the shuffle is plugged in and receiving power when you reset it.
  9. Well since I was born and raised in California my first Disney experience was at Disneyland. As to which one you should visit ask yourself a couple of questions first. If you have under a week of vacation time I'd say the one in LA might be better because you'll have more than enough to hit both the DLR, Universal studios, and maybe Knott's Berry Farm as well. If your vacation's longer go to Florida, you could easily spend two full weeks there and not do everything there is to do. Also keep in mind when your next vacation might be. If you don't think you'll be able to make down to either Florida or California in four years or so go to Florida first because you might want to wait till (I think) 2012 for the new remodel of California Adventure to be finished.
  10. Its hard to gage it's size. Star Wars figurines come in so many sizes that this model could be anywhere from 6ft to 6in. Do you intend this to be a working model?
  11. You should try one of the trips if your schedule doesn't get in the way. After 10 days with the same people up riding coasters from the crack of dawn till midnight. The sense of togetherness gets so strong that people cry when it's over and we have to leave.
  12. Fricken Amazing: The Cynic in me wants to scream hoax, but for the life of me I can't find anything wrong with the video. Even if someone could somehow train an elephant to paint this particular painting, it would take a long time and would not account for the fact that all the paintings are different.
  13. I assume so. Kind of cool I guess. The first time I heard that FireFall would have both fire and water effects I thought to myself that this might be one of the only flat rides in the world with a wash and dry cycle.
  14. Another problem is that this past week has been Spring Break for most schools and colleges, Which means an extra heaping of kids and young adults at DLR without their parents. Personally I try to notify cast members if I see one, though usually nothing comes of it. It is interesting how much of the General Public who don't line jump allow others to do it without saying anything to stop it.
  15. I haven't been to CGA for at least a couple of years even though it is technically my home park. I prefer SFDK at the moment. I'm probably not going to attend this year as well. There is just nothing there that is worth the price of admission. I am looking forward to the new coaster in 2009 but am still not convinced that Cedar Fair will treat CGA any different than Paramount did. Really I won't start believing in the park again until the whole 49er Santa Clara stadium thing is figured out. Until a definite decision is made I won't believe Cedar Fair has the parks wellbeing at heart. As it is right now the cynic in me says that all these minor improvements and additions are nothing but Cedar Fair trying to up the price of the park in order sell it to the stadium builders so that Cedar Fair can relieve some of the debt their company is in.
  16. I have no idea what might be wrong, I'm just curious as to where you got your screen replacement? I have a fist gen video iPod with a cracked screen (I ran over it with my car... Don't ask.), and I didn't even know you could buy a replacement LCD.
  17. These pics, for me, justify the purchase price. Great photos and now I'll be keeping my eye out for camera sales. Though I think I might still go with a Nikon, because I have an old 35mm Nikon and still want to use it's lenses.
  18. It is always frustrating when you encounter what seems to be an apathetic employee. It's inevitable at a place like SFMM, which employs so many, that not all of the staff is up to snuff at the end of their shifts. For two years I used to work at Borders Books and I'd usually hit my slump in the afternoon. It was hell some days, getting though the 3 to 5pm part of my 9 to 5 shift. I tried not to let it show and I think part of the reason why I got so tired is that I was stuck behind the registers all day. If they had moved me to the info desk, so I could walk around helping customers, I think I might have survived better. I just recently went back to the same store to buy a magazine and everyone seemed to be a whole lot more active than I remember in the afternoon. I took a peek at a the day's schedule where it was taped behind the info desk and discovered that they had eliminated all specialized positions. There were no more cashiers, info people, and cafe workers. Instead everyone was working in two hour blocks at different stations throughout the day. Does SFMM have similar shift change program, where employees are moved to different stations during the day? It might help with the apathy.
  19. I agree, but where else would they put it? The space was already prepped because of Zonga and they don't need to do any extensive amount of construction to install Tony Hawk. If you look at it's clone in BonBon-Land http://rcdb.com/ig3802.htm?picture=2 , you'll see that it is basically going to be a permanent version of one of those "parking lot" coasters that you might see in some traveling fairs.
  20. Did you get the three secret characters? once you beat the maze replay the Forest, Ruins, and Swamp levels and go through some new doors that appear.
  21. I'd also Try Your local wholesale warehouse stores such as Costco or Sam's club Though they do only sell the system in bundles their bundles are usually pretty good in price range (like $20 to $50 under the total price of all the item included). Most of those bundles come with a game and an extra controller. And remember some wholesale stores don't put a new shipment of Wii's out on the floor immediately. Ask a manager to check if they have any in the electronic merchandise pickup area. That is how I got my console.
  22. I've gone through and added everyone so far in this thread, So if you'd be so kind Add me and then you'll have another person to kick the A$$ of because I've always sucked a Smash Brothers but I love it anyway. My Friend code is : 5370-0136-3568
  23. I still think this park has a lot of potential. I think of it as being similar to Holiday World before they got the Raven (though truthfully I have no idea what Holiday world was like before 1995). Gilroy Gardens really can't afford any huge addition at the moment, but the rides I think it needs in order to really start brining in people are a flume, a small wooden coaster (something that wouldn't cost much but could bring in enthusiasts like the Raven did) and a water park. It is so hot in Gilroy that any water park would, I think, bring in a ton of locals.
  24. I really wish I could come but college makes it impossible, especially with a 9am class on the 10th (an all night drive is out of the question). I hope to see a bunch of Photo Trip Reports posted on Monday after I get out of class.[/i]
  25. I wonder if it would be more cost effective to build a steel structure wooden coaster in SoCal?
