  1. 2017 This is why this thread is so annoying. And why did you just change your age from 21 to 15?
  2. ...you just answered your own question. It's only out on select Haunt Saturdays, meaning only when the crowds justify a third train.
  3. For all intents and purposes, Pipe Scream serves the same purpose as a ride like Canyon Blaster. With that included, Magic Mountain has one more coaster than Cedar Point, with the extra being a kiddie coaster. So if you're an adult without children with you, you have the same number of coasters to choose from. Of course some will have different tastes which is totally cool, most would prefer Cedar Point's collection.
  4. At this point you're just listing weird things that parks (generally relating to Darien Lake) have done that confuse or annoy you. In what way is improperly relocating a coaster from a closing park a "ride downgrade"?
  5. No. One example is not a trend and the parks do not depend on each other for new coasters, they're individual parks and years of planning goes into building a new coaster, not just "a year after Cedar Point." Banshee one year after Gatekeeper is just how it happened, it's not even a coincidence.
  6. Looks like a four train transfer to me. I like it and the ride looks very cool. Edit: never mind there is cool too!
  7. I took the shortcut on multiple occasions this year, although it isn't open. It's annoying if you know it's there, but it's really not that big of a deal in the long run. In the back two rows (which is where you should be riding, especially if you're concerned about airtime), using basic physics principles, a slowdown of about 5 mph when the front of the train begins its descent results in the back of the ridiculously long trains traveling negligibly slower, and would essentially make zero difference whatsoever during the course. To be honest, El Toro's first drop is the best first drop on any coaster anywhere (that I've been on, which includes Maverick, MF, though not yet Skyrush), even with the "neutering," if you can really call it that. It was almost like they realized "you know what, its comes to a point where this ride is just stupid good, and that wouldn't change by slowing the cable a bit at the top."
  8. I'd like to point out that while I totally respect your opinion, and yes you've justified your opinion (although I disagree), this is not a popular opinion. Most that have ridden an RMC say they are much more extreme than their pre-modified counterparts. It's totally cool that you have a different opinion and I respect that, but for anyone not as familiar with RMC renovations, just know that this is not a common opinion of these rides.
  9. I really hope they don't advertise the marina entrance. I'm sure it will always be much quieter than the main entrance, but it's really nice to get a jump start with early entry with a shorter line to enter and have the chance to chat with some regulars/enthusiasts.
  10. ^I honestly think it was just a necessary change due to the design of the ride and intensity, and the ease of access was a by-product (possibly intentional) of the new restraint system.
  11. Anyone remember a couple years back (2013?) and some info from a higher-up at the park was released about the next five years, highlighting two new coasters? At the time the rumors were a Premier launch coaster of some sort and something else unknown. People were thinking a family coaster or RMC, IIRC. Anyways, is Fireball the second "coaster" in that count, or would 2016 be way too far in the future for SF to even begin considering such a ride in 2013 (that's almost sarcasm but I could totally see it)?
  12. I think they learned their lesson after the countless problems they've had with Mondial while watching Six Flags blow them out of the water with a similar ride. Not saying they're gonna buy a Starflyer, just saying that, if they're smart, they won't throw more money into the Mondial toilet. Oh Mr.Expert on everything, you are quite the funny face. You realize Adventureland built one too and hasn't had ANY issues with their ride, correct? Yeah, I figured you forgot about that installation This was a bit over the top. Sometimes I think you're just trying to start meaningless arguments and get people fired up for no reason. My advice to you--chill out.
  13. Are you talking Great Adventure? Yes. Just revisiting some older posts... Just curious, do you still feel the same way?
  14. ^I'd just like to point out how well that concept art summarizes four of the premier coaster manufacturers in America right now. You have a big, floaty B&M thats always been a *good* ride, seems to have always been there without changing all too much. You have a really unique Intamin launch coaster that made the best use of its space/restrictions possible and is a really cool ride (when it's operating). You have the shiny Premier launcher that's really short and packs a nice punch... And you have the ridiculous new RMC, displayed proudly in the center. That's a really cool image, IMO.
  15. Obviously nothing's confirmed yet but I'm sure it's staying. After removing Turnpike cars last winter there were some complaints of no notification of the ride's demise, so I doubt they'd make the same mistake twice, on the same ride (basically), two years in a row. Also, why would they remove one antique car ride a year early, and another right when construction kicks into gear? I don't see them removing any more rides for this coaster.
  16. Sorry, but never going to happen. The engineering of the layout that remained unchanged would be all off because the speed and forces would be impacted. It would cost so much more than it's worth in the end and might be impossible.
  17. When I brought my friend to Great Adventure (who wasn't very into coasters at the time) he commented "I can't even fart that long. That's like 4 seconds"
  18. Has "Superman: The Ride" been used for another SF park ever before? I swear I've heard that specific name before but I can't put my finger on it.
  19. ^I think the taller, slightly steeper lift is how they managed to keep most of the first drop on the same route as Roar's. It's a much steeper drop and tighter curve, but it behind its descent a tad later making the path about where it was. It's a smart way to work with the structure and the airtime in the back row on the drop looks absolutely ridiculous because the apex is so tight. Maybe it's just me but this looks like the most appealing of the smaller I-box conversions so far (the larger ones being the Texas projects).
  20. The first drop is reminiscent of Expediton GeForce, judging by the animation. From what I've heard, *anything* remotely similar to GeForce is a good thing!
  21. All the promo images were current photos of SFA's Superman. You can tell because of the 8-car trains and the airtime finale picture. Anyways, I hope they remove the on board audio and switch to audio from the lift itself, burin won't get my hopes up. Glad to see at least a new flat ride which goes against this parks' love for removing them. Not a bad announcement at all and a good follow up to Wicked Cyclone.
  22. It's totally a necessary addition and this park has been improving in leaps and bounds in the last 5-7 years. That said, after so many minor expansions they are constantly falling behind in terms of blockbuster attractions, so unfortunately I'll be spending my tile and money elsewhere next year (Kings Dominion) because this just doesn't appeal to me. There's only so long you can long you can "keep waiting" with strong hope. I can wait until 2017, but in the meantime I won't be waiting at SFA.
  23. This announcement is eerily similar to Canadas Wonderland's (Yes I know the primary portion is a different ride but the same idea).
  24. Stop complaining. I think sometimes people like to call out complainers as often as they can. I'm not complaining. I said it's a strange addition because it is unusual--when was the last time a SF park announced two new kiddie areas with rides like these? I just don't fully understand the reasoning behind it, and I was in no way complaining.
