  1. ^^Thats just... Weird. I just don't get why it's necessary. If it's legit though it's also really weird. Two new areas? An Aqua Twist played off as a kiddie ride? What's with the drop tower too large for young kids but too small for adults?
  2. WOW some of you guys seriously need to chill out. It's a new coaster, and most are saying it's a good one. I heard some (on other sites) complaining about the possibility of a 10-element model because it would be too nauseating, then complaining this version is too short. There's really no pleasing everyone, especially when it comes to Six Flags. Speaking of, this is totally sow thing I could see Six Flags doing. Personally I think it's real, whether or not it's the final version. The website is a bit sketch, but it did mention season dining passes for use at every SF park which pretty much makes up for this Anyways, if you don't like it, don't buy a ticket. Ride it before you complain and at LEAST wait for the official announcement. The theming does not matter because seriously when has Six Flags does theming well in the last decade? It might be a cheaper route, but I'd rather something unique and interesting than say an X-Flight clone. Ahh, and just because it's a clone (potentially) DOES NOT mean it isn't a unique ride for 99% of park visitors. Will you enjoy the ride less because there's the same ride in Texas? If so, find a new hobby and stop posting here.
  3. ^Never in my life have I understood that argument about airtime. It's not an opinion,it's been disproven on these threads so many times and people still don't believe it. What you're arguijg is that when you're stapled on a ride, the ride *suddenly* has no airtime. Take a ride like El Toro--NOBODY can dispute it is full of extreme ejector airtime, even though riders are constantly stapled because of this. You're arguing this ride has no airtime because you don't come off your seat. Airtime can be measured by accelerometers, not whiny enthusiasts saying "Nope my butt stayed on the seat, no airtime." Not trying to be ride here, it's just a ridiculous and unfair way to look at it.
  4. They do... It's called Intimidator 305. Yes I know they're a bit different styles but you absolute,y cannot argue they are very similar. I-305 is probably the most similar coaster to Skyrush.
  5. Just because it's the "longest" low gravity section doesn't mean it has strong airtime. In fact it's just the opposite. Since it attempts to sustain for so long, the hill is very shallow and drawn out, resulting in very weak airtime. I'll agree to disagree. I think the airtime is strong on the Wild Thing. I wasn't disagreeing with you. Ive never ridden Wild Thing, I was just explaining why just because the airtime hill is really long doesn't necessarily mean it has strong airtime, which can justify others arguing it has weak airtime.

  7. I would like to point out that any unfortunate death caused by a stupid guest getting hit by a moving coaster train should now be referred to as getting "Raptor'd." Creds to whomever coined that term a few weeks back on this thread, it's still part of my working vocabulary. By "working" I mean "would like to find a reasonable situation for use."
  8. ^I didn't mention that Riddlers third train was first shipped to Great Adventure in 2011. Otherwise what we've both said is correct. Anyone know why Chang only had two trains? It had to have three at some point, even if it only ran two.
  9. Mako will feature three trains of seven cars each when it opens. But yes, through 2015, that is correct. In 2011 (possibly 2012 as well), Green Lantern at Great Adventure ran three trains of seven cars each. The third train was shipped to Magic Mountain for use on Riddlers Revenge. I don't know how many trains it ran at Kentucky Kingdom.
  10. The problem is the ride is under 100 feet tall. Unless they added a solid chunk onto the lift, that hill would need to be much, much shorter than that because there is already a raised curve before the airtime hill. The best it could be with that in mind is a bunny hop (in terms of size) for ejector, but there are already multiple opportunities for bunny hills later in the course. I'm with you on wanting airtime (which I'm sure will be delivered regardless), but I think its almost too obvious that this might be the centerpiece inversion for the ride.
  11. I don't know, bruh. Google is your friend. The last two are your problem.
  12. I've said this before and it amazes me that people still think this is a false statement... Airtime does not necessitate you actually coming out of your seat. It is just the sensation of negative g-force or reduced positive g-force. To nail this point home, if you're stapled on El Toro, does the ride suddenly not have any airtime? No, and it's ridiculous to argue otherwise. I'm at a point on Nitro in which my last "click" hold me very firmly in my seat. I don't actually come up at all out of my seat, but there is an obvious three to four seconds on the larger camelbacks of negative g-force. That, in my opinion, is airtime. The only factor that distinguishes floater from ejector is the intensity of the airtime. You don't have to come out of your seat for ejector airtime either--if you did, then I suppose El Toro's RT hill is only a "quick pop of floater."
  13. ^Reading this thread absolutely blows my mind. There is so much stupidity in one place.
  14. After construction on the apparent 2001 project came to a standstill, park management was put in a tough position. How can you market a park without having the "latest and greatest" in the industry? This was something the park was not prepared for, though an effort was made. As planned, a new sit-down restaurant facility was built adjacent to BackFire. Additionally, a new film, "Storm Chasers 4D," replaced the old "The Final Frontier" playing in the Space Adventure Theater. Take a look around the park in the Spring of 2001 to see what else is happening around the park. As always, comments/criticism appreciated. Some white paint on Forest Flyer has faded, or perhaps chipped away The new Gateway Grille--an appreciated additional set of restrooms along with traditional food options "Storm Chasers 4D" is now featured. The remaining theming from "The Final Frontier" was removed Something of note, Tempest's queue was slightly modified, moving the entrance to the main midway Perhaps due to clearance issues or safety concerns, the restricted areas were merged and any impeding trees were removed If you can catch it operating, Renegade River is a very popular attraction, even in the rain. The same cannot be said for Delirium, whose cycle was modified to reduce stress.
  15. It's forceless; or, to be more precise, "Not as good as I-305."
  16. I recently pooped, yet I still eat food. No, you're totally fine. Unless you have a condition (or think you might--in which case you should talk to your doctor), it's really nothing to worry about. If you are unsure again I would check with your doctor to be safe if it's a common occurrence, though it doesn't sound like it from your description.
  17. ^The owner of Great Adventure History (Harry) has confirmed Fort Independence will be demolished in about two weeks. He is a trustworthy source and has connections with the park. The word is that there will be a coaster and new bleachers in some fashion for 2016.
  18. Kings Dominion had no new rides for their 40th. Just food for thought.
  19. I say send it to SFA. They could use some more relocations
  20. The thing is I don't know where they could put a b&m ride at... maybe a removal of blue ridge tollway? They could put the ride literally anywhere. Parks in general, and Kings Dominion specifically, are never "out of room." There are always things that can be done, area to expand, etc. If they have a few hundred square feet for a station, they have room for a coaster. People thought there wasn't enough room for a new coaster at Cedar Point after Mantis, and guess what... they built Millennium Force.
  21. The announcement is September 9 at 9am. (Credit to Robb in the CF dev. thread) Edit: And my bet is they absolutely are not changing the name. It was a stupid move by a guest that had an unfortunate result and the hype of the announcement will cover the perceived "issues" with the name. My take--if Kings Island can use the Banhee name, Cedar Point can use Valravn.
  22. I don't know man, KD really needs one though. even after these guys get a new coaster they'll be complaining a year after getting one and start speculating about a b&m invert or something. Actually that's quite rude coming in here and saying that considering no one was complaining nor talking about new coasters till last year when Skyrider was removed, in fact Kings Dominion fans are most known for being the complainers... Evidence points towards us getting a coaster with news articles quoting it and land clearing taking place... So just saying...We also do triple and this year quadruple the attendance the smaller parks including KD do with record attendance this season. The thing is we pay off coaster investments in one year. Not to get into this very heated discussion, but you just pulled that attendance number out of your behind. Kings Dominion does over 2 million per year while Wonerland does about 3.6 million or so. Granted that will increase to about 4 this year, but you're severely underestimating KD.
  23. They planted about six trees just far enough away from the path to Batwing that don't create any shade this year. Bathrooms by Batwing have been discussed before, and I think I remember a poster on here maybe a year ago mentioning a conversation he had (how reliable this may be is up for debate) with one of the higher-ups. The word is that they know Gotham City sucks and needs a bathroom, but they have other more pressing issues to work on first before they can tackle that problem. Also there may not be water lines by Batwing so it could be more than they're willing to spend until they get an attendance boost from new rides and other upgrades. The lack of shade is more easily addressed though, and it's weird because the rest of the park isn't that bad at all. A splash pad and 500 mature trees would be about the best thing the park could reasonably do next year.
  24. I'm hoping are missing something at this point for this park. After a Larson fireball this year, you'd think they would get more than just a new kiddie area/splash pad. Either a new slide complex, a new flat ride, or even the S&S... Though I think it's unlikely.
  25. The press release states "latest phase", not "final phase", but I can't say for certain what the reality is. That's exactly what I'm saying. "Kicked off with Fury 325" implies 2015 was phase one, not phase two as I originally was led to believe. Regardless it doesn't really matter which phase is which, I can barely remember what year it is anyway
