  1. Machine head and Darkest Hour last month in Barcelona. Got to meet the band beforehand and got my ticket signed. Also caught a guitar pick at the end of the show. Really enjoyed it, and I've never really seen a band enjoy playing a show as much as Machine Head that day.
  2. The blue kamikaze at the now defunct Aqualand Magaluf. There was dried cracked paint all along the bottom of the slide (was like this), the pain was like nothing you could imagine. When I got the bottom, I had marks all up my back borderline bleeding.
  3. Admittedly, it's been almost half a year since I rode them, so my memory might not be the best, but here we go. Dragon khan used to have a mild rattle to it, but it has since improved when the new trains were introduced, now it's more of a light rattle. Shambhala has a very light rattle to it, but it's practically non-existant. Generally, as long as you don't think about the rattle, you wouldn't feel it.
  4. Sunny without a cloud in the sky. It's odd because it's pretty warm here at the moment, and by this time of year, the temperature has usually dropped to 10 - 12C, but it's still around 25-27C.
  5. In Comes The Flood - Machine Head The intro to this song is amazing, I love the almost haunting atmosphere it has.
  6. B&M really seemed to have taken a liking for the inline twists, first on the wing coasters, then on Banshee, now they are putting one on a dive coaster.
  7. If that 6g claim is to be believed, then it would be one of the most intense rides in general, let alone water slide.
  8. I'm genuinely confused how a slide can have a vertical drop (and not just that, a vertical drop without a trap door) without the riders coming up off the slide
  9. Most lift hills are a tad bit crooked, you never notice unless you are looking straight up or straight down the hill.
  10. ^The top 2 I would say don't belong here.
  11. With Dave McClain of Machine Head on Friday.
  12. it's not just the corkscrew, what's up with those loops.
  13. Only one I can think of off the top of my head is that I've been on all Arrow coasters in Europe...all 5 of them.
  14. Wicked Cyclone Personally I loved to compactness of Medusa this year, and WC looks to be more of the same but better. I'm also curious about that Intamin hyper in china since we don't seem to know anything about it yet.
  15. The thing I've noticed about the Stand-ups is that Riddlers and Scorcher seem to get the reputation of being the smoothest ones, and they were the last ones built which kind of shows B&M were improving on them, but the fad just kind of ended.
  16. I've never been to either, so I'm really torn. I guess I'd go with Cedar Point, Since it's got a great selection of amazing thrill rides. VF15 said it best above, I go to a park for the thrills not so much the theming.
  17. But surely that can be said about any B&M, aside for the stand-ups.
  18. Keine Lust - Rammstein The day this band breaks up will probably be the worst day of my life
  19. 1992 The year that Rattler, Drachen Fire and Flashback opened... doesn't seem like that great a year.
  20. If that's true, I can see these chinese knockoff's being a really bad thing for the amusement industry. If that had happened while riders were on it, and news got over to the west, it would probably scare many people from going to a theme park again.
  21. It seems to look like the last imversion on the smiler. Though I more curious of that Star flyer in the background.
  22. There's supposedly one coming to PortAventura in 2016 (I say supposedly because the height hasn't been confirmed yet, but it looks to be a strata). But yeah, I think it's generally money that stops parks from getting them, since it seems that as a coaster gets higher, the price of the ride exponentially grows, and that's not taking into account maintenance.
  23. Because European park knew better. It's curious when you think about it, Riddlers and Scorcher seem to have the reputation of being the smoothest stand-ups, and they were the last ones built. Did everyone just stop caring for stand-ups when B&M started getting it right?
  24. Unless there's a sudden stand-up boom again, no.
