I have a few questions I'd like to ask if someone could help. I'm going to be heading to LA at the end of October/early November when the park is only open weekends, what kind of crowds should I expect (I think this is during Fright Fest)? I plan to spend a good few days at the park while I'm there and am probably going to get a season pass to save a bit on money. If I buy the pass now (while it's on sale), is there a cut off date for when I have to get it processed by, or will it last till I'm over there? Thanks

Download Festival this past weekend. Been going to this festival every year since 2011 and I absolutely love it. got to see about 27 bands, and my bands of the weekend were Five Finger Death Punch (they have never disappointed me live so far, and just have the audience in the palm of their hands whenever they play), Muse (absolutely blown away by these, especially since they played a heavier set just for Download) and Evil Scarecrow (went in not knowing a single thing about these, and left as one of my bands of the weekend, absolutely amazing live show).

The opening isn't really known right now, it's rumoured for either the end of 2016 or the start of 2017. As for the launch, the acceleration is around the same rate has the Intamin LSM coasters, though I'm not sure if LSM's are able to launch that fast. Could it be that they are going to use LSM's instead of a cable launch? -

Even though PA's marketing team is stupid and they don't want to acknowledge it as Europe's tallest coaster, yes it is. -

I'm happy with that. Switching out the free fall rides on the coaster tower for S&S towers would makes sense, if the tower is only going to be 367ft tall, the drop towers would end up being the more or less the same height as Hurakan Condor. -
The way the track twists is just unreal, it's seriously making me consider changing my plans for my trip to Orlando in November and going to LA instead. On the zero car, are those working headlights or just theming ornaments? I'm just curious because I love the idea of riding this in the dark with only those headlights lighting up the track in front of you.

This screenshot was posted on pktk a few days a go by an anonymous newly registered user, there isn't a source. It was posted on PA-Community (the site this facebook page got the article from) in an attempt to see if anyone knew where this article came from. If you try to Google the headline, nothing shows up (aside for these new articles showing up that are all sourcing this supposedly fake one). By the looks of things, this screenshot is fake. The true stats for the coaster will be posted on 7th of May. -
It's because the brake trigger for the second of the brake runs is set to early, so it's stopping the train before it fully exits the first brake run. Make sure the brake run is long enough for the whole train to fit on, open up the Brake section settings for the second brake run and click on "Center On Section", that way, the brakes on the won't trigger until the train is in the middle of the second brake run and will have hopefully cleared the first one, letting the other train go over the lift.

I haven't ever had to catch the train to PA since I usually fly straight into Reus, but I believe they have round trips to PortAventura advertised all around the station, so I'd assume they do have a combo ticket of sorts. As for how busy, it should be fine. Last week was Semana Santa and it wasn't busy at all, the longest the queues got was foran hour for Shambhala, but even then, it fluctuated a lot during the day. I'd expect this week to be even quieter since, as you mentioned, schools have started back up. Baco is the only coaster open at the start of the day, DK opens at 10:30, Shambhala at 11:00, Stampida and Hurakan Condor at 11:30 and El Diablo at 12:00. ----- I just spent the last week at PA, and Baco gave me probably some of my most memorable coaster experiences. I experienced 2 "false launches", since the launch sequence went out of sync with the pre show videos, making it launch a good bit sooner than it should have, and I got to experience a bird strike on the ride (almost straight to the face). Happens at 0:23 in the video. There were 2 birds sitting on the coaster track above the launch. They both got scared off as the train came up, one flew away while the other bumped the knee of a person in the front row (luckily not hurting other than giving them a slight bruise) knocking it over my head. As I ducked down it's wing grazed along my hair. -
I thought it would be better to piggyback on to this thread for this question instead of making a new thread. I'm currently thinking of making my first trip over to the Orlando area around early/mid November, is this a good time to go in terms of crowds at the parks or would there be a better time around this time to go? And are there any tips you could give for a first timer heading to the parks down there?

Bandit (name pending) An rmc coaster I've been working on for the past couple of weeks now. It is the world's first 200+ ft wooden coaster since SoB featuring a 210ft tall lift and a 215ft drop. The ride has 4 inversions (a 217º stall, a Cuban Eight element and a heartline roll). I'm pretty happy with the layout at the moment and have moved on to doing the support work An overview of the layout The twisty pre lift section The 210ft tall lift hill. The double up into the 217º stall The "Far end" part of the ride, showing off an outward banked airtime hill, and overbank and a wave turn The Cuban Eight element. The immelmanns are more akin to kind on B&M's more so than rmc, I didn't realise this at the time but I think it worked out for the better in the end, giving a kind of "shifty eye" look to the element The twisting double down out of the mcbr More airtime and overbanks The final overbank and heartline roll into the brakes

Oh those comments on the video. I can't really say I'm surprised though. -

For Stampida, they usually don't fully load trains when they know there isn't a big queue, I guess it's so they don't run through the queue too fast meaning they have to cycle empty trains once the queues empties. For Baco, It's currently undergoing extensive maintenance and is expected to be done for a couple more weeks. No one knows exactly what the maintenance is for, but it's something to do with the launch area. I think they are fixing the pre show. New POV by PA-Community showing off the newly retracked Stampida: You can really see the difference in the backwards pov bit, notice how little the camera was jumping around during the new retracked bit, and then again when it gets back on the old track. -
While those shows look tempting, I'm hoping they either get announced for Download as part of that tour or do a more extensive EU tour during fall (that includes Spain)

Last show was Slipknot, Korn and King 810 in Cardiff. Korn and Slipknot were phenomenal, King 810 was meh. Got Download Festival coming up in June. Aside for the, I haven't got any other shows planned, though I've got fingers crossed for a Babymetal EU tour around Oct/Nov.
