This may be a dumb question but I bought my tickets and Express pass for a night at HHN this weekend and the Express pass is just a PDF with a bar code that says proceed to the entrance of each House/Attraction. Ticket also states that you have to show ID, but do you really have to show ID at each attraction to use the express pass? I haven't been in a few years but remember Express passes being like a lanyard, but mobile works for me if that's the case.

Don't forget the 'VR Showdown in Ghost Town attraction closed recently. That would be extremely disappointing if the attraction is in that small space. I don't know how small that space is but isn't there a new product from Mack/Trio-Tech that's an interactive darkride/flat ride specifically for a smaller space? I feel like I saw an ad or post for that recently on some kind of industry social media page, no idea if that's what this is but it looked like a fun concept.

You may wanna check the heights of your kids before the trip and just be aware that pretty much everything at Universal has a height restriction, even the dark rides like Cat in the Hat, ET and the kiddie coasters like Hippogriff/Woody Woodpecker and Seuss Trolley are 34'/36" so a 2.5 year old might be under that. I personally haven't taken my kids to Universal yet cause there's just not that much for them to do there yet. Same thing at Volcano Bay outside of the lazy rivers and kids sections. If you do express pass for yourself and just let the kids play in the playgrounds I'm sure you can still have a nice time, but actual rides for younger kids at those parks are pretty limited.

That's a pretty exciting announcement, I love the idea of stand alone water parks incorporating amusement park style rides. This type of park is absolutely perfect for my kids at the age they're at, if we lived in a market with this type of park we'd go all the time. I'm assuming there will a pass option available for this with Sea World so that's a pretty exciting option to have in that area.

What are your TOP TEN COASTERS
Hilltopper39 replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think I've done a proper Top 10 in a while but since I did revisit a few parks for some new credit this year/last fall here's one off the top of my head. The Beast and Space Mountain are total nostalgia picks but whatever, it's my list. 1. Maverick 2. Steel Vengeance 3. Lightning Rod $. Phoenix 5. The Beast 6. Kumba 7. Phantoms Revenge 8. Storm Runner 9. Raptor 10. Space Mountain -
Great report, looks like a really well put together event. I don't think I'm going to have a chance to make it this year but hopefully it sticks around in the future so I can make a trip. One question, the website mentioned there is no on-site parking and that you have to park remotely and use the complimentary shuttle, or use a ride share. Just curious if there were there any issues with that?

Still had the original trains, no vest style restraints. Maybe I just caught it on a good day but it was smooth enough to be enjoyable for a few rides. I've never disliked SLC's and Boomerangs as much as most people, I rode both at Darien lake last summer and thought those few also fine. Not gonna make any top 10's or anything but solid attractions for most parks. If Wild Adventures had one more decent coaster or RMC'd Cheetah I'd probably get a season pass and go 3 or 4 times a year. It's about as close to me as Orlando and a great value/experience for the kids, especially with the water park included in the summer. Also just a heads up to anyone in the area, they're running a special on their website for $13 tickets for this weekend ,Oct. 11-13th. That's steal, especially with the haunts going on. -

I don't think I saw that anywhere but I'd believe it. There was a good crowd there Saturday, lines weren't any longer that a train wait for just about anything but there were people all over the midways so it wasn't empty or anything. We left before the Halloween stuff started at night but felt like the parking lot was filling up around 7 when we left. -

I took my kids to Wild Adventures Saturday for my first visit to the park and had a great day. The kids Halloween offerings were pretty nice and the park looked great. I was really impressed with the Discovery Outpost section of the park, very clean and interactive with lots of attractions for the kids. Cheetah was uh....awful. Maybe the worst wooden coaster I've been on in a long time. I rode it 3 times throughout the day to see if it got any better but man it was just brutal, and I've got a pretty high tolerance for roughness on coasters so it was bad. It's unfortunate cause it's got a fun layout and a great setting with views of the animals, but man that thing needs some love or and RMC overhaul. One the plus side the Vekoma's were really good! Both the SLC and the boomerang were pretty smooth and really enjoyable. The Alapha Trail animal exhibit was really nice and relaxing. We also took in the gator show they had which was pretty fun. I was surprised to see the theater for the show had absolute no barriers between the audience and the stage with two probably 6-8 foot gators out interacting with the trainers. That was pretty wild and I kind of couldn't believe it but fun show. Overall a great visit, I'd love to see another decent coaster at the park but I'd go back next summer to check out the water park and spend anther day there. Who knew gators were so snuggly? -
I figured the Skyliner would be evac'd eventually and guessed that the media would go bonkers but so far it seems like I haven't seen as much coverage of this incident as I expected. Maybe a good thing that it happened at night when the resort wasn't as active. I fully anticipated seeing it shared on facebook by someone vowing to never go to Disney world again but hat hasn't happened......yet haha.

The website for the event mentioned a Friday The 13th themed 5D theater show, does anyone know if this attraction has been used at any other parks during a Halloween event? I'm not familiar with it from previous event but have been out of the loop a bit, but it sounds like an interesting concept. Most 3/4/5D theater rides are kinda cheesy since they're usually meant for kids, but if this one is more R-rated out the gate then it might be interesting.

At first I thought the Marry Poppins attraction was a "ride" but if it is a walk through of some sort that could potentially be really cool, and maybe even open much sooner that a full ride. Also with this and the Moana water walk through I love the idea of there being just more things to do at Epcot that don't require a fastpass or advanced planning. Not knocking the fastpass system but I love just spontaneously wandering around that park and now there are two actual attractions specifically designed just for that, so I love the idea.

Disney owns ESPN and ESPN does a lot of work with the NBA. So that part makes sense. And yes, that is Kareem! D-Wade, Mike Conley, one of the Lopez twins, Victor Olidipo, Aaron Gordon, and Adam SIlver were there as well from what I could tell in the pictures posted to various socials. Looked like a nice event.

Seems like this is getting a lot of hate online but honestly I think it looks pretty fun, especially as an alternative activity outside the parks if you're staying on property for an extended period of time. I'd love to check it out, might only do it once, but that's about the same number of times I went to Disney Quest honestly.

Wow, that's pretty impressive, my kids love water parks so I'm sure we'll be making a trip here sooner than later. I love the interactive nature and how they actually reward you for playing along, I mean a pretzel or a drink here in there can't be that big of cost but such a simple little "reward" for participating is pretty cool. Also, as silly as some of slide names seemed initially after seeing the whole package here it doesn't seem as bad as I initially thought. Love the look of that master blaster slide with the vertical wall finish section to, I've never seen, or experienced, one with that feature.

I had a chance to visit Darien Lake for the first time last summer and while Ride of Steel was down the entire day of my visit Predator was a huge surprise. I really liked the ride and thought it was running great, front back middle whatever, glad to hear it's still performing. I was pretty impressed with the park as a whole honestly and would love to get back sometime to try Ride of Steel. Great report as always, always fun to follow your adventures.
