  1. I feel like the Zamperla ones are a touch more intense and disorienting than the Maxairs at CP & KI. Delirium at KD is weaker than both. I definitely prefer the Discoveries and am glad to see them getting spread around. Thanks, that's kind of what I thought based on the sheer size of the things but good to hear. I'm defiantly looking forward to getting on one some day.
  2. Just out of curiosity but has anyone been on both the Zamperla Giant discovery rides and the Huss Giant Frisbee's like Delirium and MaxAir? Just curious how the two compare, anyone prefer one to the other? I'm not a huge flat ride guy but have always loved the giant frisbee's, so if the experience is similar I'm all for these things popping up all over the place.
  3. I liked Season 2 way more than season 1 and think it's a pretty fun show, maybe not as great a some think but still worth watching..... .....but these pictures look absolutely stunning. I really wasn't planning on going this year but might have to try to squeeze in one night to check out this maze.
  4. Okay this looks fantastic, Carowinds is a must visit for me now in 2019.
  5. I love how they've plused up Space Mountain and The Tea Cups for this year, super cool little additions. I've love to see more of that in the future, Thunder Mountain? Pirates maybe? A Haunted Jungle Cruise would be amazing.
  6. Dollywood, Kenywood sometimes, Cedar Point if there's a drop of rain or a stiff breeze......
  7. Sounds interesting, whatever it is. I guess it was only a matter of time before some kind of interactive "escape room"ish attraction made it's way into a park (if thsi does in fact have some of those aspects). This line from the webpage is interesting.... "physically active challenges", maybe some kind of ropes/obstacle course? I could see this being a lot of fun, should be interesting to follow.
  8. I was kind of thinking the same thing, I mean I am interested in the Stranger Things house because I like the show but other than that there's not much this year that seems like it's can't miss. If I do make it to a park Halloween event this year it'll probably be at Busch Gardens (which I prefer anyways).
  9. I know La Ronde gets crapped on all the time but my one trip there 5 or 6 years ago was pretty decent. It's not the greatest park in the world and could certainly use some TLC but I enjoyed my day there just fine and would gladly go back again. That bridge is pretty awesome, that same trip I was in town for business and had a free day and since I was up with a few hours to kill before the park opened I decided to just walk from downtown to La Ronde. I remember being alone inside that bridge trying to find my way out of the damn thing, it had a weird abandoned building feel inside of it that was pretty creepy even in the daylight. Pretty nice walk though, I'd do it again.
  10. The seatbelts on those Gerstlauer trains are kinda funky if they're the same as I experienced on Tantrum earlier this summer. I don't know if I ever got those things to open on my own haha. Great report, Knotts really is on my bucket list one of these days when I make it back out to SoCal, despite the superior coaster lineup I'd probably prefer a day there of SFMM honestly.
  11. ^That's hilarious! The only way I'm paying $5000 for a showing of Sinbad is if I get to use the rope swings and be the guy they light on fire and jump into the pool. (even then I'm probably not paying $5k)
  12. Yeah, I've got my fingers crossed for BOGO passes again this year but I doubt that deal will return since the park seems to be doing pretty well. I like the different multi-day ticket options they offer but once you factor in parking they really don't make any sense. $170 for unlimited visits over 14 days seem great but once you pay to park 4 times you've already bought a SWO+BGT+Aquatica pass. I guess you can always Uber on vacation but not as practical for locals.
  13. If you can wait a few months and can make the deal work for you the past couple of years they have had huge sales on "Blue" (Black) Friday. A few years back when I bought one it was BOGO annual passes and last year it was maybe buy 1 get one half off or something. Might not be the most practical discount if you're buying one for yourself only but if someone goes in on it with you might be a pretty decent savings. EDIT: here's a link to the Orlando Sentinel article about last years sale, there were BOGO single day tickets as well, which I'm guessing could have been used at both SWO and BGT. And the AP's were buy one get one half off but in years past they were buy one get one free so no telling what this year's promotion will be. www.orlandosentinel.com/travel/attractions/theme-park-rangers-blog/os-bz-seaworld-blue-friday-bogo-tickets-20171102-story.html#
  14. I agree, last time I was at Kings Island with my kids, as amazing as the kids section is, our entire day was spent either there together or the rest of the family there while I snuck away to try and grab a ride on something haha. An all ages attraction on the other side of the park will be great.
  15. Yup, and oh look the Sinbad show is closing, perfect spot for a potter hotel haha. Curious to see how long Poseidon's Fury lasts now, that takes up a lot of space between the building and the whole water area in front of it. Yeah, if I had I guess I'd say the whole Lost Continent section is nearing the end of it's life cycle (unfortunately) but then again with this rumored third gate and new resort area who knows what the future holds.
  16. Does anyone know if any of the themeing at this park is based on some sort of local IP? The park really looks great but some of the themeing is so random and specific that I'm just wondering if any of it's based on something I'm not familiar with. Good to hear the positive review of that Vekoma family suspended coaster, I really like the one at Fun Spot and this model looks like a longer more interactive layout. If this is the same model coming to Dollywood nest year I'm really looking forward to it. Those Vekoma junior boomerang coasters look like so much fun for kids/families that I'm surprised no parks in America have built one yet. I'd love to see one of those at every Six Flags/Cedar Fair park in America. No idea what one of those costs but it would be a great addition to any park, come on Cedar Fair, buy like 5 of them at once.
  17. Yup, and oh look the Sinbad show is closing, perfect spot for a potter hotel haha.
  18. Anyone remember the old antique cars when they transformed the ride into a haunt attraction during the Halloween event? I remember that being super cool with scareactors popping out along the path, banding on the roof of the car n stuff, super fun. I'd love to see them bring that back, especially if the ride path is through the wooded area where Dinosaurs used to be.
  19. I really don't think this mattes that much, there are plenty of examples of "similar" coasters at parks close to each other. I mean if that were the case Kings Island would have never built Banshee because Raptor was so close by.
  20. I love the drop into the tunnel, I don't think any of the other "big" dive coasters had the first drop into a tunnel like that. The layout after the first inversion kind of reminds me of a compact eurofighter, except it's compact for a gigantic 8 across dive coaster train. The vertical loop should be fun to experience on a train that large.
  21. This resort looks great, I've personally never stayed at a Universal Resort but from the way this report looks I might prefer Aventura to anything else on property. Interesting that so many places have bao buns these days, I remember getting bao buns and ramen in new York like 5 years ago (I realize these aren't new dishes or anything just the first time I'd really had them) and thinking man why don't more places outside big cities serve this stuff, and now they're everywhere haha.
  22. So how does Steel Dragon 2000 compare to other giga/hyper coasters? I've heard good things about the B&M train upgrades but have never really heard anyone compare the ride to something like Millenium Force/Fury/SROS/Steel Force/Magnum/Apollo's Chariot etc. I think it finished in the 40-50 range in the Coaster Poll so I'm guessing it's pretty good, just curious how it compares to some similar coasters.
  23. You are not alone......there are still a few of us out there. Yeah I love Raptor, for my trip in September I'm thinking about getting regular Fastlane for our shorter day at the park just to marathon Raptor, Magnum and Millenium Force like it's 2001 all over again.
