  1. The light package on the trains looks amazing, nice touch I wasn't expecting. Maybe I missed it but do any other Intamin Blitz trains out there have lights on them? I can't recall. Too bad the park only stays open past dusk like 3 months a year, but for those 3 months this thing is going to look great at night lol.
  2. Something like this? Source That's actually exactly what they're doing at SeaWorld, I haven't been yet but atleast that's what the picture on the website for the event shows.
  3. I'm sure it has something to do with loose articles but it's just so strange looking with the blueish mesh, why not just make it full fledged tunnel like the one it comes out of just before crossing the bridge? Hell if anything you'd think they'd plaster an advertisement all over the thing. I always wondered if there was some kind of DOT requirement for visibility of the underpass or something along those lines. Either way super cool looking park and coaster, I'd love to get up there someday on a road trip between Knoebels and Cedar Point maybe.
  4. Raise the peak of the launch 10 or 15 feet, slap a lift hill on that bad boy, re-prolife the pre-drop and be done with it already. I know it's not that easy, bust seriously if they replaced the launch with a modified chain lift and all the sudden the ride was as reliable as any other RMC would anyone really care? The launch is awesome, but I feel like the ride would probably be just as good without.
  5. Never been to Waldameer but Ravine Flyer II has always been a really interesting coaster to. Funky layout, seems to mostly be well reviewed and rated, but I've always wondered what the story was for that blue looking netting on the bridge over the highway? I'm sure there's a reason but it's always just looked to strange to me.
  6. Ah, that makes sense. I kind of forgot about Red Force. Wonder if the reliability of the LSMs on that have been better than the launch system on Dragster/Ka. Thanks for the insights.
  7. Just curious but what's your take on Kingda Ka vs Dragster? I've only been on Dragster and I can't imagine the two experiences to be that much different but some people seem to really prefer one to the other, so just wondered where you stood on it.
  8. As far as SEAS acquiring new properties I'm sure there's no "real" info on what parks they are pursing but just curious what kind of places people here would be interested in if they were to be acquired and converted? Probably lots of smaller local water parks out there in desirable markets that could be re-branded into a Sesame Street park fairly easily. I've always thought it would interesting to see them acquire a zoo and convert it into a SEAS property. Not necessarily a Busch Gardens level of investment or anything, and I have no earthly idea how much a zoo costs, but I know I've been to plenty of zoos and thought "this is fun, but it would be more fun for my kids with a few rides and maybe a water play structure and a couple slides". Again I know nothing about the business side of the industry but I could see a zoo with some kind of a Sesame Street Safari concept working really well.
  9. I mean sounds like kind of an interesting event, I'd be interested in checking it out depending on crowd levels and all, assuming the'll still be limiting capacity to some extent. Night rides on all the coasters with some fog and fun atmosphere is enough for me.
  10. I've got a ton of these, a lot of the same ones you have, and looked into giving them away a few years ago as well. Never really found and takers so I started throwing them in with random Secret Santa and white elephant gifts every year for Christmas. Its good for a nice laugh and a wtf moment when someone who ins't into roller coasters at all gets a Spring 2004 edition featuring CoasterCon from Kings Dominion or something lol. A good laugh for me atleast, probably not as funny to whoever gets it.
  11. Weren't those two coaster at Tripsdill originally payed for another park then something happened so the project got moved to Tripsdill? I feel like I read that somewhere recently, which might explain the staggered themeing.
  12. That would be awesome, but it has to be an old school concrete trough slide, not one of these fancy new ones where your car is connected to the rails and it's actually safe. None of that nonsense, I want scraped elbows and the fear of actual bodily harm on my scenic slide down the mountain. (just kidding, mostly, an alpine coaster would be cool there)
  13. That’s been discussed and debated before and nobody except the executives with the parks probably know that info with 100% certainty but these companies publish pretty much these same figures in their annual financial reports for the SEC so because if that Ive always assumes there to be some legitimacy to it.
  14. My completely uneducated guess is that there are just a ton of economic variables that can affect that metric. General status of the Economy, price of fuel for travel, weather, pricing and promotional strategies by the parks, in the year 2019 international diplomacy lol. There's just a lot that to be factored in. I mean per this report in 2018 Steel Vengance only increased Cedar Point's attendance by like 70k so it's just hard to say.
  15. That's fair, I kind of forgot about that, but still a little surprising they didn't see any increase relatively compared to Studios. Will be really interesting to see how DCA performs after the new Avengers Campus opens, I would guess that park would have a much higher percentage increase in 2021 than Disneyland had in 2019. That's a pretty fair comparison, with the new Skyliner you could probably even lump in Caribbean Beach, Riviera and Art of Animation. Again it just blows my mind every year the sheer volume that the WDW resort handles. Another observation is that year after year attendance at Busch Gardens Tampa just doesn't ever really change. They reported had 4.1 million in 2009 and 4.3 million in 2006 vs 4.18 in 2019. I was hoping Iron Gwazi would be a big hit for them but given their history that may not really be the case whenever it may open.
  16. I love reading through this report every year when it's released. I guess the biggest thing that stands out to me is that Disneyland's attendance remand mostly the same even though Galaxy's Edge was open there for a solid 7 months where as Hollywood Studios had a pretty solid increase with GE being open for less time. I predicted that might happen because of the changes they made to passes and the fact that that park seems to be pretty near capacity all the time before GE opened anyways but it's still a little surprising. It's always interesting to compare Disney World to Universal Orlando, I know that the two properties are completely different but Magic Kingdom alone does almost as much attendance as both Universal Parks combined which is always shocking. Disney parks in Orlando did around 63 million and Universal's did around 23 million. I'm not trying to compare the two resorts or anything but the sheer volume that WDW processes in a year is just insane, that place is an absolute machine.
  17. 6 months for a shoulder surgery? That stinks, anyone on here got a good HGH guy to help this man out a bit? Good luck with the recovery though.
  18. ^Well yeah, that's why I said hopefully things get back to normal soon, but soon might be October or it might be next June, wtf knows anymore.
  19. There hasn't been anything done to the site since shortly after the park closed. Premier had barely started testing the switch track before the park closed (they were gone a couple days before the park closed, in fact), they never did a full test run before leaving. Some of the landscaping and queue work was still being done shortly after the park closed, but were all sent home soon after when the parks halted all construction. Thanks for the update, that's kind of what I had figured unfortunately. I'm assuming it's mostly the same situation with Iron Gwazi over in Tampa even though that project was a lot closer to completion. Hopefully things get back to normal soon and maybe both of those rides get a late summer or fall opening. I mean SeaWorld opened a new river rapids ride in October a few years ago so there's hope lol.
  20. I'll play just because I'm bored.... Raptor is my favorite invert, and Magnum has a bit of nostalgia and is still really fun. 1) Maverick 2) Steel Vag 3) Raptor 4) Dragster 5) Magnum 6) Millennium 7) Valravn 8) Rogarou 9) Gatekeeper 10) Wicked Twister 11) Iron Dragon 12) Gemini 13) Blue Streak 14) Mine Ride 15) Corkscrew
  21. Yeah I saw that lol, I mean it's not funny but at this point is nothing is surprising. Speaking of Seaworld I know Icebreaker isn't open yet and am aware of the lien issues etc., but for anyone that's been to the park is there any activity at all on the job site or is it just completely shut down like this thing might get pushed to open in 2021? As far as I was aware the track was complete and trains were on site, just curious if there's any landscaping or people working on/around the site currently.
  22. I'll say it.......... Fun Spot has better wooden roller coasters than Disney .
  23. My biggest beef with Dinoland is that the 48" height requirement on Primevil whirl is crazy for kids, and I wish there was just a little more there. The cheesy roadside attraction theme isn't my favorite but it works, and kids love it. The play ground is great, the Triceretops Spin is a solid and reliable attraction for kids, if there were another couple dino-themed flat rides, a carousel, maybe a version of Heimlich's Chew Chew train through some dinosaur stuff would be really cool, and again younger kids would love it.
  24. I'm kind of impartial on this news, I love Splash, probably my favorite ride on property, but I'm sure this re imagined version will be even better than the original so why not. I am curious to see how they integrate it into Magic Kingdom, Disneyland's makes sense with the attraction being right next to New Orleans square but in Florida the bayou right between Thunder mountain right next to frontier land might feel a little off. Then again Splash mountain is set in the south so it's pretty much the same thing lol. Maybe swampy re-theme of Thunder Mountain is in the works further down the line and that whole area goes New Orleans .
