  1. Yeah that'skind of what I figured. For a while, wasn't California's performing better? One theory I've seen is that there's an A-team for maintenance, but that's all speculation based on one coast's ride seemingly having a stretch of good days while the opposite coast's seemingly has a stretch of bad days. Seems like at one point during construction before the delay was announced I stumbled on a reddit page or something saying that some of the issues they discovered in Cali they were able address earlier in the construction process in FL. I don't really believe anything online but it kind of lines up with how FL opened first even though Cali was under construction longer and makes me wonder if there are any significant differences in the two systems because of how the construction process went. Probably not but you never know (and we probably never will).
  2. Does anyone know how many people are in each boarding group?
  3. I'm old enough to remember when there actually was a Fun Spot (Park) in Indiana, so why not try it again!
  4. I didn't love Indiana Beach as much as everyone else on my visit back in 2008 or so but I still had a really good time so this really is a sad story for anyone that loved the park. Hopefully someone does something with it cause I cant imagine that land is worth much else in that location, but we'll see how it all unfolds.
  5. I'd say stick to your original plan of going in the fall for the colors but keep an eye on the Carowinds socials for sales late in the season. I don't remember if I follow Carowinds but I know Kings Island and Cedar Point have had specials in the past around October pushing annual pass sales for the next year that comes with a fastlane and the an admission or the current year or something. Depending on what your 2021 plans are you might be able pick up a Cedar Fair platinum pass and get a free 2020 admission and Fastlane out of it or something. If not like other have said 10-5 that time of year even without fast lane should be enough time to make it worth your while.
  6. Sounds like you had a similar experience in Mysterious Mansion as I did a few years ago, it was seriously one of the best haunts I've ever done. My wife and I went through it in the day time, and were the only guests in the house, pretty sure they only had 1 maybe two people working but they made us jump so many times by running ahead ahead of us and behind and jumping over balconies and railings, it was so much fun. We skipped Anakesta on our trip last spring break but I'd like to check it out next time we're in town. We were kinda short on time and took the kids to do the alpine slides at Ober that morning and didn't wanna drop another $100+ or whatever for Anakesta even though the rail runner looks really cool. Oh well, we took about 10 rides on the old school concrete trough alpine slides for the price of one ride on the rail runner so I'm not too upset.
  7. Other fan forums are already speculating of the entertainment-cut-a-pocalypse in a similar vein to what was going on while Shanghai Disneyland was being built. Yeah I read about the star wars stage show at Studios ending sometime in February but I kind of assumed that would happen at some point after Galaxy's Edge was fully operational anyways.
  8. That's a good point, I kind of forgot about the ownership split with the Chinese parks and just how much smaller those resorts are compared to WDW. Still an interesting development to follow.
  9. I'm sure they have a plan in place for this kind of thing I'm just curious if the affects of the plan will be noticeable to people outside of the executive levels of the company. It's not like they're gonna make an announcement "Hey since Hong Kong is closed for 3 months we're going to be offering a new line of limited merch to recoup the loss!", but it will be interesting to see if they do something different or out of the ordinary operationally over the next couple of months.
  10. I didn't know where to post this but with the report of both Hong Kong and Shanghai parks being closed for at least 2 months, I'm curious if Disney will do anything domestically to offset the loss of operating income from the international parks? I don't really know what they would do but losing 2 months of cash flow from two resorts has to be concerning. Maybe they ramp up marketing and offer some kind of a special ticket packages or promotions? Maybe an new after hours event or something? If they launched some kind of after hours Star Wars event at the Studios you know it would sell out in a heart beat. I really don't know if they would actively try to recoup that projected loss but it will be interesting to follow.
  11. The new sign looks great but the one 10 second video clip I saw man that thing was seizure inducing haha, I'm sure the sign has different speeds and stuff but the one clip was pretty dizzying to look at haha.
  12. Just empty cars while everyone was running, just was cool to hear and see them go by especially when they didn't have to do it but it would have been awesome taking a quick ride on anything during the race, I would have totally done that lol I know a lot of people for the Disney full marathon make it a challenge to get to animal kingdom quick enough so they can go on expedition everest during the race lol Thanks for the clarification, still cool to have the rides cycling. When I worked a few race events at Everest I remember the ride being open after the race during the post race party but don't really remember people riding it during the race but it may be different for the marathon. Then again now that I think about it I guess there was no reason someone couldn't have gotten in line and just hung out instead of finishing the race haha. To any park running event operators reading this thread, if open a few rides and I promise to do your race in the future .
  13. So when you say they were cycling the rides for the race do you just mean that empty cars were cycling while you were running the course or were you actually able to ride? I'm just assuming it was empty cars but the idea of being able to hop of the course and take a quick ride on Hulk is pretty awesome, I'd 100% run one of these races in the future if that was the case.
  14. I feel like I came across a full pov for this sometime last year, really interesting project. Should be fun to see this thing in action just to get a better idea of what the Guardians ride system is capable of, obviously on a much MUCH larger scale. Guardians ride is going to be so cool, I might be more excited about that than I was for the new Star Wars stuff.
  15. Im gonna give it a few bonus points just for that sharks mouth tunnel.
  16. I love SeaWorld and if they add a B&M Wing coaster to their existing lineup for 2021 I can almost guarantee you that I'll renew my Annual Pass. We have so much fun at that park on every trip so I'll take any excuse to go back in the future. Also, adding an attraction in that area of the park is interesting, during the festivals SeaWorld hosts, which are pretty much year round at this point, that area is really nice but having a wing coaster in the area to interact with would really liven it up even more on a permanent basis. Pretty exciting project if it happens.
  17. I think another site that shall not be named (because I forgot what it was haha) mentioned a rumor for an S&S Screamin Swing, which would make sense considering BGW just recently installed one. I've only been on a few of those rides but they're always fun and would be an awesome addition to BGT, and in that are over near the Savannah I'm sure could have some cool themeing and views.
  18. This park is really interesting to me, I love mountain coasters but hate paying $15-$20 a pop to ride them once so having one included with a crazy looking drop tower and some other attractions on top of a mountain is a just a really cool concept. While this place isn't a must see destination for me or anything if I was ever in the area I'd love to spend a day there. As others have said great report, really enjoyed this.
  19. I'm also interested to hear how the lines were since I'm sailing there in June and I expect there to be two ships in port on our day at Coco Cay. Also just curious but did you buy your water park ticket in advance or on the ship, and did you notice if they sold half day tickets? I've read some conflicting reports online about the availability of half day tickets as well as price differences purchasing in advance or on the ship.
  20. This project kinda slipped under my radar earlier this year but after going on Infinity Falls at SeaWorld recently these newer generation rapids rides are a lot of fun and a huge draw, that thing had a decent line even on a fairly cold day in December. I realize this one isn't made by Intamin but it seems to be a similar product and designed within an existing park setting with plenty of views and interaction points similar to Infinity Falls which was really fun. Gone are the days of rapids ride being tucked away out of sight in the back corner of a park which I probably for the better. Looks like a great addition to SDC.
  21. Great report as always Adam. Ya know Tokyo Disney has been and still is #1 on my parks bucket list but I have to say Hong Kong is really creeping up there, the resort just looks fantastic. They already have some really unique attractions and with the new Castle, Frozen land, and the Avengers Campus coming soon I'm curious to see where this park eventually ends up on people's Disney parks rankings.
  22. I'll probably make a trip in January sometime so I'm excited to see the new show but honestly One Ocean was so unimpressive to me after Believe that I don't really care what they end up offering. As long as they have the whales do practically anything it'll be good enough for me to stop by once a trip.
  23. I can already hear the jokes people are going to make about the Pym Test Kitchen..... "they shrunk the pizza but still charge full price", something along those lines most likely.
  24. Kind of looks like the latter Well that answers that question haha, guess they'll just move Bingo to the pool deck.
  25. Wow, glad no one was hurt but out of curiosity does anyone here know what happens next for a ship where something like this occurs and there's damage? I'm assuming that ship is booked for another sailing as soon as this cruise ends so do they refund/reschedule everyone booked for that sailing? Would they close these areas/rooms for repair and continue as scheduled? Glad our next sailing is on RCCL.....
