  1. Thanks everyone, I'm probably leanin more towards Universal Studios or MGM, although mission space, Soarin, and Test Track are hard to pass up.
  2. Hahaha real funny, real funny. Allow me to restate my question, I have one day to go to one park in Orlando, where should i go besides IOA because I have been there before.
  3. I'm goin to Orlando over Christmas and can't decide which park to visit. I've done IOA a few times in the past couple years. Besides that I havn't been to Universal Studios since the opening weekend in the Opening year!!! Havn't been anywhere in Disney since opening year of MGM studios, and have never been to Sea World. So where should I go. Not necessairly lookin for most coasters, but best park for a full fun day (but coasters and thrill rides are always nice ). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone
  4. The Second hill on the Beast, after the lift hehehe Fifth drop on the raven, you know the one, the one where people die from the airtime Second and third drops on Danis Beach Hurricane, I get great air there The doule up n down on Raven, great air there, yall know it I'm gonna go make a maragarita, and finish my beer
  5. yeah I guess, just coasters, that most people might not appreciate as much as you do
  6. We've all posted on threads about coasters that are overated, and underated, and that we don't get. Well what about coasters that we DO get. I mean rides that arn't really ranked highly or praised by enthusits, but rides that you really like and enjoy riding. Maybe an old favorite at your home park, or a defunct ride, or an old ride that doesn't rank anymroe that you still love. And let's keep this positive (no Vekoma/Arrow hatin!). Personally I love the Vortex at Kings Island. I't no B&M floorless, or Intain Rocket Coaster, but is still a lot of fun. It has a great pop of airtime on the first drop, good forces in the inversions, and a great capacity. There is hardley ever a long line even with a que out the midway. So what if it's a little rough, it still gives me one hell of a ride, is a lot of fun. Road Runner Express at Fiesta Texas is another. No mine train is gonna rank high, but riding that thing ( and a lot of other mine trains) is jsut flat out fun. Good setting, funny theming, good coaster.
  7. Coaster's I don't agree with are Magnum, Storm Runner, and Beast. I thought storm runner was great, albeit a bit short but still great. Powerful launch, lots of speed, quick change of direction, and a great pop of airtime before heading into the zero-g roll and snake dive. Lots of fun. The beast and Magnum I think are both in the same caetogry of being good coasters that arn't as good as they once were, but are still fun. They both have great setting (on the lakeside, and in the woods), they both are long rides. The Magnum has really good airtime on the return run, and the Beast still has a lot of power and intensity especially thought the final Helix and the back stretch of the ride before the second lift. Both coasters are older and not as good as more modern Hypers, but I think both rides still have a lot to offer and are worthy of their rannkings out of, being fun, long, re-ridable coasters. (The beast wouldd be fine if they'd remove the magnetic trims every hundred feet and let that baby really roar!)
  8. For a steel coaster, and I'll probably get shot for saying this, but Millennium Force just doesn't do it for me. I mean yeah it has a great drop, excellent first drop, but after that it just kinda flies around till it ends. I get no airtime out of the hills heading to the island, the overbanked turns are effectless, there is really hardley any variation of speed. The turn and buny hop parallell to the station is the only part after the drop looking for ward to. It's big and fast, but does nothing for me.
  9. The Kentucky RUmbler is just as far along as the Power Park coaster. I drive by Beech Bend about once a week and from my perspective almost all of the structure is up wit the exception of the station and surroundings, and they've started tracking on several sections. I'll try to get some pictures soon if I can, but take my word it looks amazing!
  10. Why don't they just lay down some pre-fab wood track on dragster so Cedar POint can take therecord for tallest wooden coaster haha. They could make shirts taht said 'I rode the worlds largest wood, gigiddy gigiddy gigiddy GOOO !!' haha
  11. These rides look prety cool but I've never been on one. It's wierd they biult a ride this similar to Max Air one year after they put up that thing. Who really gives a shit they still have Magnum Raptor and Millie, and whatever is replacing the flume wil have to kick ass.
  12. The Kentucky Rumbler is turing out to be great. I had a great time at the tour, nice pics Julie, it was really nice to meet all of you. Se ya in the future.
  13. 2 cases of beer for a day at the park? I like your style dude ! Nice TR
  14. I'll be there, 12:30. See everyone there!
  15. Sounds great, should be able to make it, might skip my differential equations class, but hey Math or Roller Coasters? yeah thats right. See everyone there!!!!
  16. If none of the coasters at Cedar Point are on your 'A' list, then what exactly constitutes your 'A' list out of curiosity? I know Magnum is getting old (but i still love it!) and Dragster is a one trick Pony, but Raptor is the best inverted I've ever been on (kicks the shit out of Montu and Alpengiest), and Millennium Force is a prety good ride not my favorite but that first drop rocks. So what is your A list?
  17. hey Robb, on the 28'th I'm there. We play our game that week on Thursday night the 27th instead of saturday on ESPN U. So the 28th or 29th I should be good to go fo whatever.Lookin forward to whatever it is. Maybe a little ERT on the unfinished ride hahaha.
  18. Hey Robb, I go to school in Bowling green, KY nad live about 5 minutes from the park. I'd love to be a part of this so please post the dates and any additonal information when possible. I'd also like to add that I drive out to Beech Bend to check out the new coaster every monday and this thing is really shaping up well. The first drop is going to be great, you enter with lots of speed so air time should be great, then the drop twists the opposite direction of the banking when entering so it should be lots of fun. Holiday World watch out.
  19. The unnamed Woodie at beech Bend. I go to school in Bowling Green and go out to check the construction on this thing and so far with only the first drop and a few banked turns it looks nasty. The first drop especially is going to be exceptionally good, just wait. Besides that Everest, and Goliath look the most impresive to me. Voyage not too shabby as well.
  20. I recent;y saw the move Lords of Dogtown about skatboarders in like the 70's or early 80's in SOuthern Clifornia , and in the movie they surf under a pier that has a closed down decaying wooden coaster on it. It looks like the same pier that housed the famous Cyclone Racer because the oil derrick looking tower is adjacent to the pier, I was wondering if anyone else has seen this move or knows if that is the coastdr in the movie. Great movie though, prety cool.
  21. yeah I actually got three rides in the front and there was some prety good ai time, a few ejectors and a floater after the high banked turn. The back was a litttle lackluster outside the themig and the helix.
  22. No it wasn't Siebert, it was a few younger girls, and I only ot headlights on a few of the rides because they were only operational on 1 or 2 of the trains, but those were a few really good rides, cool effect.
