  1. Something I was thinking about with this movie was how did Ledger's death affect any of the post production. I never followed much about the movie after he died but I wonder if they had to re-do any of the ending as a result. I was previously under the impression that Two Face was to be in the third movie because the Joker actually disfigured him with some Acid or something, not the way it happened in the movie. Also while I was watching Dark Knight the whole ending just seemed kinda off a lil, just wierd I guess. Almost like they had to cut something somewhere or add something else in that wasn't originally intended as a result of Ledger's death. Anyone know anything about that?
  2. That sounds a bit too much like Mr. and Mrs. Smith haha, almost exactly the same plot as that movie I'd read a rumor somewhere that the Penguin was going to be the next villain played by Phillip Seymor Hoffman, that's be interesting
  3. The best 2 parks in the south? Come on now Scott your missing a few absolute gems like BeechBend, Kentucky Kingdom, The Alabama Visionland Adventure, and Wild Adventures which are in high contention for those top 2 spots. I love Dollywood and really need to get back to try out Mystery Mine. Never been to Lake Winnie, but I think I'm gonna hit it up on my way towards Orlando in September. Nice report so far, lookin forward to more pics from Dollywood including the mandatory pickle shot. And to the 3 Crimson Tiders in the report, you better get ready cause the Hilltoppers are rollin into Tuscaloosa Sept. 13! Well if the game isn't much of a game (probably won't be) then the sideline antics between Big Red and Big Al should at least make things a lil interesting.
  4. Black Label Society and........... !!!!!TOOL!!!!!! tool rocks, love em
  5. I guess I'll go ahead and be the one person to say I was a lil disappointed with the Dark Knight. I mean it was a good movie, a really good movie, but I thought it wasn't as good as Begins. I mean Heath Ledger's Joker dominated and was awesome but when he wasn't on screen it really kinda felt like it drug on a and got real slow and un-interesting at times. I think I just got over excited for it so much that it was a lil disappointing. I'd probably give it 7 or maybe 8 out of ten which is still really good, but I guess I was expecting a knockout awesome 15 or something and just got a lil let down. Was pretty damn good, but I guess I was just a lil too excited
  6. I'm no expert by any means but I think in Mt. Olympus' case it might be a design feature from CCI/Gravity Group for a possible future addition of a second train. If you notice there all 3 woodies @ Olympus have an extra air gate in the station which makes it look like they could add on another car to the trains. Also with 1 train the rides are fairly low capacity but the elevated brake run gives them the ability to add in a transfer track and a second train sometime in the future without have to have a major redesign of the ride itself. They could add the transfer right next to the current brake run or something I guess. When Holiday world put the second train on the Legend if anyone noticed they had to redo the station a little bit (I think) to make room for the transfer track and make the brake run a little bit longer. Raven also had to have a pretty decent amount of construction to add their second train. So my thoughts are the Mt. Olympus had the ride designed this way to make it easy to add a 2nd train in the future if they'd like.
  7. This thing is going to completely dominate the back half of the park, pretty much the entire park really. I'm really excited a B&M hyper of the magnitude that we all think this thing will be should really put KI back on the map as far as coasters go. This will be a great steel hyper, they've a few good woods ( a few not so good), a great indoor coaster, a good family mine train, a flyer, and a decent looper. Bring on the Invert for 2011 and we we got ourselves a pretty solid collection of coasters!
  8. I've never really kept up with my mile stones or total credits but i finally did a real count and..... Firehawk @ kings Island = 200!!!!! yeah!!!! isn't it funny how you tell your friends that you've been on 200 coasters and they think it's a big deal and that your some kind of coaster nut, but really there are people on here like Robb and Jeff Johnson and Big Mike n such whose counts make us look like beginners!!! Crazy
  9. I'm arriving September 3 for my college program, lookin forward to it quite a bit. I've been assigned to operations but don't know where yet, But I'm not picky. Any other TPRers gonna be workin there this fall?
  10. A new CGI coaster is always something so get excited about, can't wait whenever it may open
  11. I''m gonna be workin at Disney World in the college program begining sometime this summer. I'm supposped to arrive in September but I' m tryin to switch my date to earlier sometime. No idea where I'll be at until I get there. I'm holdin out for Jack Sparrow impersonator or Mr. Incredible but will probably end up getting stuck in Chester n Hesters Suck-O-Rama. We'll see I'll have a blast either way
  12. The coupon I had expired at the end of December so yeah this October year you should be good dude. It's an awesome show I loved it and would go see it again sometime for sure. It's so much fun. Yeah I'm just working the college program, but my intentions are to do that for 4 months or so then try to find a full time job of some sort after that. I graduated in may with a Mechanical engineering degree but am just doin the college program for fun and hopefully to get a foot in the door somewhat.
  13. Hey CTU Agent , don't know if you remember me or not but I met you at Holiday World briefly a few weeks ago. Yeah as far as I know it does work for any student ID . I found a coupon on spring break in Daytona like 2 months earlier but just showed up with my college ID and got the discount. I'm gonna be workin at Disney in September and have those coupons still if you want one for October. Hell the show was awesome enough I'd see it again with ya!!
  14. Don't know if this is the correct location for this (sorry Mods if not), but The Blue Man Group Show at Universal Orlando offers a student priced ticket of 25 $ which is more than 50% off regular price. I used my student ID a few weeks ago and just showed it at the ticket gate the morning of the show and got the cheap tickets. Didn't know if anyone knew about this discount, but the show was great and I would highly recomend it to anyone visiting the awesomness of Universal Orlando sometime this year. Awesome show, cheap tickets for students, check it out
  15. Wow, that picture of the Hoff is priceless. Also did anyone else notice the FraggleRock character in the upper left of the same picture? haha awesome
  16. ^^ I think Raptor is by far my favorite B&M inverted, and most people tend to not rank it as high. I don't know I just think the zero-G roll right after the loop is ten time better than after it loses speed through a loop and an immelman. My dorky coaster opinion but yeah Raptor by far my favorite B&M invert. Plus Raptor's drop is prety damn good, all other B&M invert drops are just kinda meh, sort of like big turns to pick up speed before the first element rather than an actual element themselves. Except Raptor's, the little halfway way bank then straighten out is pretty sweet. Again my super dorky coaster opinion
  17. #22 got ranked a lil low I think, but the shot from a distance didn't do hjer much justice. Yeah I'm saying #2 is still the best. Fake sure but oh well
  18. I was definately expecting something different, and a lot more. I thought the ride vehicles would move more than they do, they just kind of coast through the building instead of really moving like MIB or SPiderman. But I guess this isn't MIB or Spiderman either so we'll see. I'll definately give it a few rides when I'm down in September but definately doesn't look as good as I though it would be. Or as good as a 70 Million dollar attraction should be. I'm still waiting for the Hollywood Studios Pixar SPinning coaster
  19. I wonder what Jim Hill would think of this site and this thread in particular? Maybe he'll write an article about our critisicism of his crisitsms of everyone elses critisisms of Imagineers.
  20. Yes I'm with Mcjaco here, the most recent stuff isn't that great (including everest in my opinion) but all in all give the complaints a rest. I mean I think a lot of the Disney classics are really starting to get a little dated and Jack Sparrow animatronic here and new scene or two there doesn't hurt a thing.
  21. Yeah definately not Hangman. I really enjoyed that park when I was yound and wish it would have stayed open. I go to school in Bowling Green KY and heard a radio interview a while back with someone new in upper managament with Gaylord Opryland and there was a question asked pf him concerning the old amusemet park. He said soemthing along the lines of why would the company remove an attraction that people come to visit from hundreds of miles away and stay for several days (Opryland Park) for an attraction that peple come from 20 miles away top stay for 3 or 4 hours (Opry Mills mall). Pretty interesting point.
  22. but those that truly know Opryland will notice something... I only visited Opryland one when I was really little long before they ever installed Hangman, but I'm pretty sure that video wasn't hangman, track colors were different and the surroundings were too bare
  23. Ah, the Gainsville Airport, got a cool memory there. Nothing like getting off the plane and being met on the runway by busses and about 10 state troopers to escort you to your hotel before a game in the Swamp. To bad we got smoked by the Gators, but it was a pretty awesome experience. Awesome trip report, Apollo gets no love, I love Apollo, great ride
  24. Nice report so far, I can't wait to get back there to try our Griffon, I loved Apollo, Wolf and Loch ness Monster. Did the log flume stil ahve the saw blade thingy right before the drop ? I remeber that was kinda cool whe nI was a kid
  25. Seems like every comapny is makin some kind of splash battle type ride these days and seems like a lot of parks are buying them too. I don' think they look all that exciting but maybe I just need to ride one. Never been a huge fan of getting soaked just for the sake of getting saoked. I wish they'd attach some watter guns to a log flume boat and make and interactive log ride now that's be a blast
