  1. Every ride I'm operating is the best ride in the park, as far as guests can tell. Be it a GIB or a Froghopper. And looping music isn't that bad...
  2. Silverwood's the only place you can reliably ride a GIB and 2 CCIs.
  3. It's interesting to see how the trains in storage don't rest on the road wheels here. When I was at RMC's shop while they were making the track for TC, they were currently working on "the most twisted piece of track [he'd] seen so far". Definitely looks like it!
  4. Well, really it's the mobile versions are terrible. And they constantly switch back to mobile when you're on your phone, going to the homepage, instead of whatever page you're looking for. But replacing them in the same style as the cedarfair.com site would mean the whole thing's responsive and works on mobile.
  5. Tremors hasn't had any need of replacement or refurbishment. It's still the smoothest part of the ride by far.
  6. Please roll this out to the parks sites. They're terrible!
  7. 'Course only a few people have actually ridden Thunderbird, so there's only so much discussion that can be had yet. Only how it looks, not what it's actually like (for most of us).
  8. Course capacity would suck... Interlocking hubless ferris wheel and super loop.
  9. Hence the "In the US" bit. I make no claim to know what goes on at some German fun fair.
  10. On some rides. Not many though. The industry as a whole is moving towards more and more automation for a variety of reasons. And most of those that you can control (in the U.S.) they're still ran the same every cycle. Standard Operating Procedures and all that fun stuff.
  11. Going through Guest Relations or asking to speak to a supervisor is a lot better way to handle it than trying to talk to the operator. If you said what you posted, it's likely that it would have been immediately dismissed (right or wrong, it happens) as it comes off really harsh. Especially when you turn around the phrase they're required to say to make your point. How would you take it if some stranger just started telling you you were bad at your job? Plus, if you go through management, they can work with all of the ops, across the park. Not just that one person at that one ride. 'Cause it takes everyone on the platform working quickly to keep things moving.
  12. re·pet·i·tive rəˈpedədiv/ adjective containing or characterized by repetition, especially when unnecessary or tiresome. "a repetitive task" synonyms: monotonous, tedious, boring, humdrum, mundane, dreary, tiresome
  13. Well not many considering to date no ride has been announced called Twisted Syclone.
  14. You should check in the Dollywood Discussion Thread. That's a pretty hot topic there.
  15. X is special because of the custom chain it uses that had to be made to order. Twisted Colossus (and probably Goliath) can likely use off the shelf parts that don't take as long to make, and are readily available.
  16. Silverwood actually pulls from a huge geographic area with little competition. All the way from Seattle to Montana, Oregon, Northern California even, as well as Canada. But there's not a lot of other things to do in the area.
  17. I'm pretty sure nearly all of them have stopped with people at/near the top. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WindSeeker#Problems
  18. GIB's are very difficult to get running in general. Its not really surprising at all that it didn't open with the park. And given the temperature requirements (about 65°) to even try and cycle, there's not really any reason to try and rush to get it open. They've got other things to deal with than try and get a finicky ride that is nearly guaranteed to not open for a while ready. Also apparently Vekoma has been a royal pain to work with on getting parts and that may have something to do with it as well.
  19. To be fair it's not like most places drain and refill their waterparks daily, so there wouldn't really be a reason the slides can't run. Course, no bathrooms might put a damper on things but most people don't think about all the small details.
  20. I didn't find them uncomfortable. In fact if anything, it might make it feel more intense since you (well at least me and I'm not incredibly tall) can't sit normally with your knees at a 90° angle to help 'brace' yourself. And unless you staple yourself into the seat you'll get a little bit of room to float in the seat.
  21. Any park who's contacted RMC can get coasters from them, Six Flags has just been keeping them busy enough that other parks haven't had much of a chance yet.
