  1. ^ Gee, that was really fast. I'm impressed with how fast this is moving along. I hope they can get that area cleaned up fast since the park will be open on Thursday night. I'm guessing that the volleyball courts will the next things to go.
  2. Looks like the old dining patio is now completely demolished. It's a little hard to see, but they have also demolished the games island near Hydroblaster Hill. That was quick.
  3. ^ Okay, maybe it could have been scenario #3 (it wasn't #1 because he came back after 20 minutes, and I can tell you that no one fell from the station), but I don't get why they couldn't have run the ride with the remaining three ride ops. I've seen similar coasters run with 3 ride ops. I don't understand why they had to wait for the other op to get back.
  4. If you look carefully at how he worded it, he might have been suggesting that Mr. Frazier's originally had plans for spilling more beans on 2016 to garyman6 when he last saw him, but he isn't allowed to now. However, that's just speculation and I'm probably wrong .
  5. Excalibur at Valleyfair had an airtime hill after the first drop during it's first season of operation, but it was removed the following offseason. I never rode it while it had the airtime hill, but based on what I've heard about it, I guess I'm lucky I didn't experience it. A part of the turnaround was also reprofiled in the early 2000s. The Legend at Arnold's Park in Iowa was reprofiled by GCI recently. I should get down there next year to check it out.
  6. In 2014, the first coaster I rode was Corkscrew at Valleyfair back in May. Next year it will likely be something at Nickelodeon Universe. Probably Spongebob.
  7. ^ Why so? Can you tell why 2016 will disappoint us?
  8. Wicked Cyclone. That ride looks mind-blowing. I think it could possibly become RMC's best creation. Every inch of the track looks action packed. All of that airtime looks really strong . I probably won't get to ride it anytime soon, but hopefully sometime in the future. I will be riding Rougarou next year, which doesn't look as great as WC, but I'm still looking forward to it.
  9. Why doesn't anyone like Intimidator? Although I get the backlash on adding a 2nd large B&M, the two at Canada's Wonderland really complement each other. Wow, I guess its true. It's impossible to please everybody but here it seems to be more prevalent than most discussion threads. You locals of Carowinds really need to be thankful for what you have and for what your getting. Fury 325 is going to be an amazing coaster and just about every other park including my own home park, Valleyfair, would give up their left nut to have a coaster like this in their park. Please don't complain about it or Intimidator. At Valleyfair, if Cedar Fair announced a coaster like Fury 325 you would literally be able to hear a shout of joy all the way down south from us Northern boys! Amen to that! It makes my blood boil when I see enthusiasts complaining about getting amazing coasters like Fury 325, or when enthusiasts complain about needing a new coaster when they got one 2 or 3 years ago. I would be ecstatic if Valleyfair received something even partially resembling Fury 325. I really can't believe f325 is bringing up this much whining. If Carowinds got something like an SLC or some other crappy coaster type, that would certainly be whine-worthy, but really, a B&M gigacoaster?
  10. The old dining patio is finally coming down. Yes!
  11. Patience children, Patience! HaHa! If you knew what I've heard you'd all be.................................._____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Is that supposed to be a hint in itself? The logical ending to this sentence would be "excited", or something along the lines of it. At this point, a new coaster or a thrilling flat ride are the only two thing that would make VF fans excited, so hopefully my assumption is correct in that garyman6's rumor is about a coaster or a flat ride.
  12. So far my only in-house-built coaster credit is Viper at SFGAm. I believe it was Six Flags' only in-house coaster, and they did a good job with it because it's a very fun coaster with lots of floater air. I guess it really depends on who and how it is made because Flying Turns at Knoebels took forever to get opened. I guess my opinion is that if they can make it a good ride, then I approve of it.
  13. ...when hearing the term "Hydra" during the Captain America movies, it made you think about Hydra at Dorney Park.
  14. Granted, but RMC makes Goudrix with Vekoma-style track and trains. I wish that Nickelodeon Universe had room for a new coaster.
  15. Comment from a YouTube video of Corkscrew at VF. sigh...
  16. Just checked the park website, and they officially have the webcam back up. I don't know what it's focused on because it's dark right now, but I guess we'll find out soon enough. I have a feeling that we could probably be seeing a similar construction timeline to that of Route 76, where most of the construction took place before the first major snowfall and after most of the snow melted. It should be interesting to see how things progress this offseason. Update: It is now apparent that the webcam is focused on the volleyball courts/soon-to-be Barefoot Beach. You can also see the Mad Mouse restroom, Games Island, and Dining Patio, so we can also see when those are officially gone.
  17. ^ Yes, a B&M invert and a HUSS Gaint Frisbee would really round out VF's thrill ride lineup. With those additions, the trill ride lineup still wouldn't be on par with that of parks like Carowinds, KI, or CW, but they would centrainly improve the park a great amount. I agree that it is starting to get frustrating waiting this long for a new coaster, but at least I have Renegade to hold myself over until then .
  18. ^^ Well, that's unfortunate. Not only will this make lines longer, but it might make the ride a tad less intense (it's my understanding that longer trains usually make the ride a bit more intense). Well, at least I haven't heard of them trimming it. Since it's a Six Flags park, this really doesn't surprise me.
  19. ^ Eh, it's only one trim brake, it can't neuter the ride that much, can it? Plus, this could possibly provide some hangtime in loop. I'm sure Rougarou will still be a great ride. I'm not a fan of trims, but I love how every other enthusiast interprets them as the end of the world.
  20. My home park is Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minnesota, which is also home to Canterbury Park, a horse racetrack with lots of horse racing (obviously) and concerts. Mystic Lake Casino is a pretty big casino a few miles south of the park in Prior Lake. Valleyfair/Shakopee is 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul, which has a lot more attractions such as Mall of America (which ironically also has a theme park), our professional sports teams (Vikings, Timberwolves, Twins, Wild), lots of parks with great nature, and much more.
  21. Wow. This picture that VF tweeted of the Ferris Wheel in the fog during Haunt tonight looks really awesome.
  22. ...looking at a cell phone or radio tower reminds you of a drop tower.
  23. ^ I think so, but I'm not completely sure. If it does, only Route 76, Enterprise, and the carousel open early. The rest of the park opens at opening time.
