  1. Two pictures I found of Valleyfair in the snow (these aren't mine, just found them online)... Park entrance. Planet Snoopy.
  2. ^ I wouldn't be against flyers coming to Valleyfair, but if they were to be the only thing VF gets in 2016 (like it is this year at Dorney), then I'd be disappointed. Valleyfair needs more than just flyers for a new ride (I would say we need a new coaster, but then I'll get yelled at since VF apparently needs tons of general improvements). Nope, I'm stumped. Are you sure you can't give just one hint?
  3. I don't think I have to explain this one...
  4. Just checked the webcam and it looks like they're doing something in the construction area. The large pile of dirt where the dining patio used to be looks different than it has been. Hopefully they can get some of the slide tower construction done before winter comes.
  5. ^ I checked the webcam earlier today and nothing has changed. It has looked this way for a while. They're probably just waiting until the park closes for the year to get on with construction.
  6. This is a shirt I bought last year at VF. This shirt is perfect for me since it sums up my personality.
  7. ...you have ever gone on a long-distance trip just to get one kiddie coaster credit.
  8. I really liked Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando. The theming is pretty cheesy, but it's decent. I personally prefer the first drop on JTA to the drops on Manta and Kraken. I also like how the smallest drop on the ride gets you the wettest. I wish it had a slightly longer coaster section (like on San Diego's version), but I think it's still a pretty good water ride.
  9. facepalm...All of this arguing is starting to get pointless. I think we get it now that Valleyfair needs a few more general improvements to prepare for a big capital expenditure (all of these Improvements can probably be done within the next few years). Could we please move on to talking about something else?
  10. Without a doubt, Cedar Point. I've been to Walt Disney World, and it is not a bad place at all, but I'm a thrills-over-theming kind of person, and Cedar Point has many more thrills than Disney World. Disney does a phenomenal job with theming and no one beats them in that area, hands down, but theming isn't what brings me to a park, it's rides. As long as a park has some thrilling coasters and flats, that should make me the happiest, and Cedar Point caters to that preference much better than Disney World.
  11. ^ Thank you. These arguments we've been having on the past few pages are pretty dumb. Most of these problems listed can be found in many other parks and they've done just fine, so why is Valleyfair instantly the one big exception? Also, to those of you that said that Valleyfair doesn't need a coaster, isn't saying that we don't need one at all a bit extreme, especially considering that VF has been waiting for a thrilling coaster longer than any other CF park (this includes relocated coasters)?
  12. Valleyfair - Excalibur. It will probably be staying for several more years, but once they do need to scrap a coaster, Excalibur will be it.
  13. ^^ Sorry, should've been more clear. I meant that those general improvements could probably get done over the next few offseasons (all of them happening in one offseason would be unrealistic). Adding another restaurant could probably happen without much hassle, and the only area of the park that is unused and should be torn down is the amphitheater. Better efficiency in food services just comes down to how they're trained, so if that's really a problem, it's up to the park on that one. I'm also pretty sure that a new flat and waterpark expansion #2 are somewhere on the agenda.
  14. ^ Most of those are just general improvements that aren't huge and could be made over the offseason, so the park could potentially have most of those ready by the time VF gets it's next coaster in a few years. Also, I don't get why everyone says we need better restrooms because I've never had a problem with them. Could someone clarify this for me?
  15. They actually are doing some work to that area. The restrooms just southwest of Mad Mouse have been demolished, and hopefully they don't have any replacement for it because that will help that "hideous" path near it. Also, almost all of the buildings across the midway from Mad Mouse and it's adjacent games station have been demolished for the 2015 waterpark expansion. They also removed Hydroblaster (those black waterslides) for the expansion. This should hopefully provide a little extra room for people on that walkway. I'm glad they're finally giving some attention to this walkway.
  16. Where did ValleyFair get a coaster in 2011? Yeah, we got a coaster in 2011: A 19-year-old relocated kiddie coaster that's pretty lame even by kiddie coaster standards.
  17. I recently had to do a problem in a math class involving The Beast at Kings Island, but the book got the height and drop stats wrong. It said The Beast has a height of 52 feet and a drop of 70 feet when it actually has a height of 110 feet and a drop of 141 feet. Usually I'm not that angry when I hear incorrect statistics, but when you are putting them in a place where a bunch of people can see them like a math textbook, you should at least get the facts correct. Also, not as big a deal as above, but the book also got the name of the park slightly wrong: King Island's.
  18. Same here. They look like decent fun, but nothing too special and not worth going to unless you are in the area. Even though these parks don't have much competition, you're expected to innovate in today's amusement park industry and the CNL parks just don't do that.
  19. If what you say is so, then I guess that pretty much tells us all we need to know.
  20. I'm aware that it's only a rumor because he has said that multiple times. The offseason is coming and we're running out of things to speculate about, so this is just something to have fun with for now. I don't really care if Gary is right or not, as long as we end up getting something good.
  21. I understand that CW is most likely getting a new coaster in 2015. They pull the most guest in a year every season. Its understandable. People saying that the park is neglected and NEEDS something is getting crazy. But I do agree there deserving giving the parks performance, and they really need a good looper I agree that a lot of parks are due for a new coaster. That is why I was disappointed when Carowinds got Fury325 instead of any other neglected Cedar Fair park. It seems that the only parks Cedar Fair cares about is Canada's Wonderland, Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Kings Islande and of course Cedar Point. I think the reason why Michigan's Adventure is so neglected is because Cedar Point is close to Michigan's Adventure and Cedar Fair wants more people to go to Cedar Point than Michigan's Adventure. I wish Cedar Fair would sell Michigan's Adventure to someone who is interested in making it better. It was only Paramount that was neglecting Canada's Wonderland, as soon as Cedar Fair bought it they completely turned this park around. I don't think MiA being close to CP is the reason why they are neglected because KI is actually slightly closer to CP than MiA, but Cedar Fair has made some significant investments in KI with Diamondback and Banshee.
  22. If it helps, these are the letters we have to work with in alphabetical order...
  23. Oh, gosh. That's a tough one. I think I'll be able to figure this one out, but it'll certainly take a while. So far, I've noticed that there are four numbers in the puzzle: 2, 4, 0, and 1, which logically hints at 2014 being in the final unscrambled sentence.
