Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Legend? Na. I think you would have to go to the complete other side of Splashin' Safari before you reach the The Legend. I'm thinking the box in the lower right is a tunnel cover for The Voyage. Fixed it. Dunno how that happen...lol -

Great find... I think you're on to something, but I think the site will farther South. The box in lower right hand corner I think is one of the Voyage's Tunnel covers. -

Just going off the clues, I'm wondering if it's not a launched family ride. I'm thinking that an outside top hat is likely. Maybe like a launched hyper family thing? With a barrel roll and a Splashdown? WTF?! Lol -

Would HW really be that interested in a wing coaster? I mean they are kinda smack dab in the middle of all three US B&M wing coasters... They are within 400 miles of SFGAM, DW and CP.... I'd think they'd want something that'd set them apart more. I could very well be wrong. -

I don't think this new attraction will be themed to a sailing ship. If that was the case, why would they have JUST added a new attraction called "MayFlower"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but there isn't any other ships related to the Pilgrim's voyage. While I think water based is still possible, I'm hesitant to jump on that bandwagon because the park has stated that they'll be moving focus back to the ride side of things. Maybe the 66 days at sea is significant of the fact that this is coming from a European manufacturer. If this races or duels with the Voyage, maybe they stick with that name only add: Reborn or II to the name. -
Guess this Coaster! (By the Layout)

From the pictures RCJunkie texted me. Everything looks awesome! My favorite part is seeing the little details put into ROUTE 76. Definitely excited to see this park this summer! Hey, my 200th post! -

You're welcome! What was your favorite part? ... and did you take note we had not one - but two - types of gravy on the buffet? Wood gravy and steel gravy. I'm calling it.... It's steel! -

So of you that think wood is possible.... Do you think there is any chance it's a Gravity Group woodie? If it's RMC, then I'd definitely look for it to invert. Of course, GG Or even GCI could invert too. -

"As 2015 rolls closer" Totally a new coaster for sure. I'm wondering if a B&M dive machine isn't out of the question? -

Definitely relevant. A few thoughts. First, if this is the announcement for a new attraction, expect it to be big. So big that it'll be too big to hide this summer. Also, it must be big if they are announcing in May. The Voyage wasn't announced until July. However on the flip side, I would have expected more teasing from HW leading upto this point if they intend to announce something major in less than a week... Edit: after looking at that screenshot again, those are blocks of wood I believe. Could we be seeing yet a fourth wooden coaster at Holiday World? That would be unexpected. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. After reading the price tag for a Chance Hyperlite, I thought briefly that it was a possibility. Of course, I quickly remembered proximity of the parks and I firmly believe, if it's steel, it's looping. If you want hills, turns, etc. there's wood for that. RMC hybrid anyone? -
I normally agree with this sentiment when people post things about safety or structural integrity of a ride but I don't think there's anything wrong with coming to the reasonable conclusion that a record breaking permanent coaster can't go from the state it's in now (the lift hill isn't done, most of the first drop isn't there and the signature barrel roll element isn't there) to being open with riders in 2 weeks. We've all seen coasters progress greatly in just a day. I think this thing could be completely tracked by the weekend. Testing mid week next week. A week or so of testing... This is assuming they have everything done. It's safe to assume that trains will be put on any day now,if they haven't been already But I think we would have seen that. Unless I missed it. The chain could be coiled at the bottom and ready to be fed up. The sensors, brakes, etc could all be done and all that's left is the grunt work of topping off and finishing track work. I think the park would have already announced that this coaster won't be ready by medi day if they thought that was the case. They'd want to give members of the press ample time to not only cancel their travel arrangements but also to reschedule for a new date. The fact that they haven't, makes me believe this coaster is still on schedule to open as originally scheduled. "Believe in Fred and Hank" Falcon's Fury? Granted that is from a different manufacturer and different theme park chain but they were supposed to open 14 days ago. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't BGT acknowledged that? And didn't they prior to the original opening day? And you're right. Different ride type too. A prototype as well.

Can't say that for certain, Hershey could very well ask for the same design now as they did then and B&M would deliver av wry similar product. -

If we are taking bets, I'll put money on Gerstlauer or RMC. Totally a random thought but, I'm feeling an S&S Free Fly. I don't know why. -
