Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Is there any good scuttle about what type of coaster and where in the park they would put the new one? B&M Invert is my guess! -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
DanTheBooker replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So I thought the winter chill out would start this discussion, but I guess not. We know CP is working on their next big roller coaster. What do you think it will be? I think we're in for a wild mouse that is something special. Racing maybe, longest, etc. it'll be somewhere on the Blue Streak midway. Maybe replacing one of the car rides? Just some ideas. What do you think? -
The Next Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom?
DanTheBooker replied to CPSFMMCW's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Keep in mind. MiA has no entertainment. Which means they don't have to pay for wardrobe, cast, music, lighting, etc. it also means they can't use new shows in advertising each year. Even though MiA is part of a larger chain, it's not the size as even VF or WOF. So they don't need new attractions every year. Lastly, the water park is a huge draw there. Just sayin. -

Have patience. I'm asking who in the CF chain is getting a B&M for 2015. I'm pretty sure 16' is the year for VF -

The park closes at 6:00pm on weekdays? While I don't expect 12:00am close, 6:00pm does seem a bit early. -

Actually, the idea that they had to go searching for something, and wasn't something that everyone already knew about, could mean its something we've never seen before. It can go both ways! Or that they went to three states to see examples of whatever it is - that's what led people to RMC in the first place (Texas, Missouri, and Illinois). Or Ohio, Illinois and Tennessee. B&M Wing Rider. Just sayin' -

Who will break 500 feet?
DanTheBooker replied to coasterlover420's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd love to see a 500ft coaster from Intamin. Can you imagine the 540ft roller coaster that CP will build. It will be a lot like I305. One big drop and really really low to the ground after that.. Just dreaming. -

I'm just curious, but how can you tell it's the IAAPA car? I'm sure you would know. Like I said, just curious. -

I agree. With the clues in front of us, my guesses are RMC woodie or B&M Wing rider. -

Could the three states be Illinois, Ohio, and Tennesee? The long distant calls are to Switzerland to discuss the B&M wing rider coming in 2015. You're welcome! -

Route 76 is a great expansion concept. A new large scale family flat, plus two major flats getting refurbished. That's a waste of time? I don't think so. Often times to understand completely why parks do what they do, you have to wait a few yearso see the bigger picture. It's been said before, by me and others: We need two things badly at Valleyfair. Water Park expansion and new major roller coaster. I'm sure they are both coming down the pipeline! -

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Already FIVE years? Geez! Time past really fast! Yeah but wouldn't an invert have more support pieces? I don't think it's a big deal for B&M as their support design is always very simple. When it comes to other manufacturers, support pieces might slow down the construction for being complicated. For example, Volcano: the Blast, Spanish Tornado and Finnish Tornado. Agreed. Also, you have to make up the difference in height from Banshee to Diamondback. Diamondback's tallest support probably uses more steel than Banshee's tallest support. And Diamondback with 6 hills all over 100ft will use more steel supports than Banshee as well. Not to mention 29 and a half more sections of track to be hung. (Referring to Banshee TEENY TINY section right at the bottom of the lift hill after you turn up.) Of course. My bad. Thanks for the explanations. -
