  1. I'm genuinely curious as to why all of you who want Rocky Mountain to refurbish racing coasters only want them to do one side. What's the point?!? I've thought the same thing. You think both sides are bad now! Wait until one goes untouched by RMC!!!!!
  2. I voted for option 1. However, I don't think you can go wrong with either.
  3. An Intamin Launch coaster that was terrain based through heavy forest.
  4. Basically, it's a four way tie for me. Paul Bunyan Land (hey, it IS an amusement park), ComoTown, Valleyfair and Nick Universe.
  5. That is not true: SheiKra- $13,500,000 Griffon- $15,600,000 Krake- 12,000,000 euros or approximately $16,298,400 I stand corrected. I guess I was basing it off other recent B&M projects. I wasn't trying to be rude or anything, I just thought that your estimates were a little high. Any construction updates on the new rides? No worries, dude. No hard feelings. Not sure on the gliders, but a friend at Zamperla told me that both CF Disko's are scheduled for delivery late this month early next.
  6. Why would they turn Green Lantern into a floorless when they have Bizzarro? I was thinking of that layout, but it wouldn't have to be at SfGadv, it could be anywhere, like SfGam (hopefully). Oh I see, my apologies. Would probably be a pretty legit ride.

  9. A dive machine will be in the range of twenty five to thirty million. I wouldn't expect that aprge of an investment right after GateKeeper. If we do see a new coaster, expect a Gerstlauer spinning coaster or Mack a Wild Mouse before a great big dive coaster. As far as major coasters go, a Mean Streak redo or replacement could be done for under $15,000,000 I'd imagine.
  10. As much as I enjoy Looping Starship, let's remember that the ride is pushing 30 years old. Also, the removal of Looping Starship could leave a void in the park that would be filled nicely by a Huss Frisbee or Zamperla Hawk down the line.
  11. Great TR. I'll be down there next Thursday. I have a convention within a few miles of there Friday-Sunday, so once I check into the hotel Thursday afternoon, I'm taking the shuttle over there for a little bit of Eurofighter/Rainforest Cafe action! The light rail is neat, isn't it?
  12. PWE to Dinosaurs Alive - Sa-Wheat!
  13. X-Flight seems like the design and theming were built to be easily cloned. Can see a few popping up in the next several years.
  14. I think Freedom Flyer at Fun Spot looks stunning. The color scheme plus winding layout make it really pop. It helps that White Lighting has a pretty simple color scheme.
  15. Great choice! I would put SDC and SFMM together. With SDC's amazing management, employees, foods, theming and ride maintenance, SFMM can certainly get much better in the future. Silver Dollar City and Cedar Point. CP's collection of coasters plus SDC's attention to detail. Yup. That's heaven right there.
  16. With the removal of the IMAX theater I expect a water park expansion. The question I have is how big of an expansion? Will they just use the old IMAX area? Or will they go bigger, use the IMAX space and relocate the Looping Starship for more space? Will they use the adjacent Hydroblaster area as part of the expansion as well? Too bad they will not mark the anniversary with a new coaster, maybe 2016. I've heard Dave Frazier is a big fan of Looping Starship... Hydroblaster, not so much. Perhaps, but I'm not sure how much say a general manager (especially one who has not been there long term, yet) has on ride selection, expansion direction, etc.
  17. But at the same time, SFMM has a much different operating schedule than CF Parks. Yup! My thoughts exactly. Maybe we'll see a new coaster announced during the 40th Anniversary celebration.
  18. Kings Diminion opened in 1975. In 2014, they will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary. I'd expect Valleyfair to use the same logic
  19. I think this project is great. It will really breath new life into this section of the park. The refurbs of Scrambler and Tilt were good decisions. Plus the return of automobiles with a much more interesting track. A major new family ride is something that VF hasn't seen in quite some time. Disko seems like as best of choice as any. Not to mention, even though SV is by no means neglected down there, it will give guests a lot more reason to mosey out that direction. 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the park. What do you think we can expect?
  20. Giovanola also has a lot to do with Intamin. So 232 is the tallest non-Intamin coaster. Then I suddenly remembered that B&M used to work at Giovanola... Right but Giavanola isn't Intamin. So the tallest non-Intamin coaster is Titan.
  21. Please don't kill me. But why is everyone against second hand coasters? I mean take After Shock at Silverwood. It was Déjà Vu at SFGAM. Outside of the enthusiast community, I highly doubt many people, if anybody has visited both parks, let alone make a habit of doing so. So SFI sells them a GIB for what I'm sure was much less than the price of a new one. SFI then makes money and Silverwood saves money. Silverwood's customer base doesn't see it as a second hand coaster, they see it as the sweet new ride at Silverwood. As an enthusiast, I understand the desire for new coasters. But if the park only warrants used rides, at least be thankful they are making changes. Everyone wants that new hotness. But sometimes, most of the time....you don't get it. Again. Please don't kill me.
  22. I use YouTube and a Facebook daily. Occasionally Twitter and Vine.
  23. Okay, I think MiA needs something. A perfect candidate for a Eurofighter. I'd agree with SFSTL. Maybe if X-Flight gets the clone treatment, they'll get one. That'd be nice. Adventureland in IA could use an El Loco or a Eurofighter. Silverwood could use one. Maybe we will see the first all steel RMC there. Valleyfair and WOF could both use something, in due time. KD? It takes a long time for something massive live a giga to wear off. The additions for 2014 should keep guests happy. But I'd expect B&M to bring something in 2015. Probably not inverted, so I guess Dive machine is possible. Nick Universe hasn't got a new coaster in 2008. Love to see Orange Streak replaced with Vekoma SFC or an Intamin like that mall in Malaysia.
