TGE - SLC 06 (SFAWs)

Why would they do that? I understand about the Texas Cyclone but couldn't they just re-locate Greezed Lightning rather than scrap it. -
Shuttle Loops Or Boomerangs
YoshiFan replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not going to vote because I have only been on a Boomerang but I think Shuttle Loops look like a lot more fun. -
Here's a picture of Talon at Dorney with a full queue. I wouldn't have believed it without the picture because it's hard to imagine any coaster at Dorney with longer than a 10 minute wait, let a lone a full queue: http://www.dorneyonline.com/stuff/talon/fullqueue2.jpg

Roller Coaster Triva
YoshiFan replied to pagemaster_b's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That was from Wild & Crazy Kids on Nickelodeon. It was the first episode I saw of the show (I also remember one of the other events from that episode was kids jumping off a diving board trying to catch a football thrown by a NFL quarterback). The coaster was Colossus. It was funny because the hosts were acting like they were scared to ride it and then at the end of the show, I think it was Donnie Jeffcoat who they tricked into getting into the car and dispatched the train before he realized it. -
If Movies could do it... so could games?

There is a Pokemon park in Japan: http://www.rcdb.com/pd1218.htm http://www.pokepark.jp/ I think there was also a talk of XBox villages in some Six Flags parks -
With all the problems with Temple right now (at least that's the way I feel since I have had a ton of them since I have been here) I think Bill Cosby would understand. When I transferred there, they actually had him show up at the beginning of the year for everyone's "first course" Cosby 101. He basically just gave advice of how to act in college (with regards to studying and other things).

Roller Coaster Triva
YoshiFan replied to pagemaster_b's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Flip Flap Railway 2. Had too many G-Forces due to it being circular and people got Whiplash and other neck injuries. They tried to modify the seats but it didn't help. 3. Loop-the-Loop 4. It was eliptical shaped so the forces weren't as intense 5. Not sure but, they might have held people upside down for an extended period of time? -
Congrats, it looks like a cool place. I remember when I got a letter in my mailbox from Penn State (Abington campus), I was so nervous I could barely open it. I was so nervous that I didn't even notice on the front of the envelope it said congratulations.

A Bizarre Coaster Fact
YoshiFan replied to pagemaster_b's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think it did exist. I read about it in the book "The Great American Amusement Park" a while ago. -
HELP WANTED!!!!!!!!!
YoshiFan replied to Hilltopper39's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Agreed about the crowds at USF. I was there Christmas week 2003, everything was 90+ minutes (even Twister). Men In Black and Shrek 4D were 150 minutes each. I used Express passes but without them, I don't think I would have went. -
My school never closes for snow. Every school district in the area and all the other local colleges can close but my school hasn't yet in the 3 years I have been there. One of the teachers explained it's because they have the mentality that teachers should be able to get there and if they can get there, so can the students (nevermind the fact 90%+ of the school commutes and most people live 20+ minutes away).

Coaster rules that dont make sense
YoshiFan replied to waterviper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hate that rule, I was in line behind 1 group who took the front 2 rows (not that they had a choice) so I was going to choose the last seat but they made an announcement that you had to take the first available row. It doesn't make sense to me because if the line is long enough that the whole train will be filled (there were 40 - 50 people in line), then it shouldn't matter where you sit since the whole train will be filled anyway. Another rule I hate at Dorney is no re-rides even if no one is in the station and/or waiting for your row. I had to go through the exit and through the queue each time I wanted a re-ride on coasters even though the trains were maybe 1/3 - 1/2 full. -
Yeah the Guy Game is supposed to be horrible. XBN gave it a 0/10. Some stupid trivia questions and mini games and you barely get to see anything (and even then you are answering the same trivia questions over and over again). The only reason it got so much attention was because one of the girls in the game was underage (17) so stores were supposed to pull all copies of the game (which created the demand because people were afraid that it would be impossible to find) from the shelves but it's still for sale in most game stores.

Maybe the old Nintendo. I remember in the N64 days they made Interplay take out HoboCop, a drunk police officer from Clayfighter 63 1/3 or how all animals were removed from Crusin USA (in the arcade on the Iowa track, you could run into deers and they would splatter on the windshield). But on Gamecube with BMX XXX, surprisingly, Nintendo was the most lenient company. Sony made Acclaim remove all nudity from the PS2 version and Microsoft made it where you had to complete some almost impossible goals to unlock the videos but on Gamecube, all the videos were easy to access. So I think Nintnedo might allow this game.

Julie's Epic WDW Ongoing Trip Report!
YoshiFan replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I feel the same way. I would rather be going on rides than sitting around and watching a parade. Especially when people get there an hour or more early to reserve a spot so if you want a good view, you also have to get there early so it's even more time taken up. -
MAGNUM FORCE AND BULLET GONE!
YoshiFan replied to Chris Benvenuto's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah it would fit well in Cypress Gardens since they don't have any coasters with inversions and it seems like a coaster with only 1 (or is it 2 since you go through the loop twice?) loop would be a good choice for the park. -

YoshiFan replied to FlyerACE1's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I wish they would run at least 1 or 2 coasters for the event (maybe Trailblazer since it's probably the slowest coaster they have?). I went twice to Christmas Candylane with the last visit being I think 6 years ago but I don't feel like taking the 2 hour drive for just a few flats. Yeah, it's a shame there are very few video game companies on the east coast. I really wanted to get a job in the games industry but I don't want to re-locate so that basically kills any chance I have of working in the industry -

Nice photos, other than the entrance to the ride, it looks like It's A Small World is very similar (if not any different at all) to the way it was before the re-hab. That's not a bad thing IMO but I thought they were changing a lot of it (like getting new audio animatronics like the Disneyland version etc.) -

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
YoshiFan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They look like fun rides but I don't think I would want to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes for it. Maybe if they had 4 or 5 tracks running at once it would increase capacity but of course, that would get expensive and something probably most parks wouldn't want to do.
