  1. You'll definetly want to avoid Thunder Creek Mountain (the log flume) then. You get soaked on it and sometimes the log goes directly through a waterfall (it usually shuts off right before you get to it).
  2. Avoid a summer weekend and you won't deal with any lines on the amusement side (or minimal lines). I went to Dorney almost every week last season and never waited more than 15 minutes for any coaster except on a Sunday in August. There really isn't any order to follow but if you get there at opening, go to Wild Mouse first as it can have a long line because they have a rule of only 2 adults per car and have bad loading procedures (confusing to most people in line). The only coasters I would skip if you aren't into counting coasters and credits are Dragon Coaster and Woodstock's Express both kiddie coasters (Little Laser is 54" maximum). Everything else is worth riding once. For flats, I'd reccomend the Whip since it's a rare ride and a lot of fun. If you are into power riding you'll really enjoy the park since you can get tons of rides in on all the coasters, I usually average 6 rides an hour including walking through the park and through the empty queues (no re-rides allowed, no exceptions)
  3. Nice pictures, that night shot of Spaceship Earth is great.
  4. Eagles T-Shirt Cargo Shorts (yeah the wind chill is 16 degrees outside but my house is always hot so I change to jeans when going outside)
  5. Especially at parks that have a no more than 2 riders per seat rule (Dorney). You end up having groups of 3 that have to take 2 cars and with only 11 or 12 cars, it really doesn't allow that many people on the ride in 1 cycle.
  6. I don't know if they are still around but Rideworks Inc made a modern Whip for Hershey that was installed in 1997.
  7. And Kingda Ka especially at the end of the season. 2 trains running, 1 dedicated to Flashpass and I heard on the non Flashpass train, 2 rows of that train were reserved for people using the VIP program. So the ride was running at less than 1/4 capacity for non Flashpass and non VIP riders.
  8. Grand Theft Auto Vice City for PS2, I'm up to the final mission.
  9. The 2 main ones in my area are: Happy Tymes - An arcade, go karts, batting cages, a frog hopper, a space train, monster buckets (teacup ride), climbing wall and a bowling alley, mini golf. It's really for little kids as there are few video games and they are older games. Garden Golf And Go Karts - a small arcade, go karts, batting cages, mini golf I rarely go to either place except to Garden Golf and Go Karts to play Pump It Up once in a while.
  10. Poor Nickelodeon Studios Though the way it was running in at the end was bad with just the game lab and no looking at sets anymore (I guess becuase they stopped filming there?) I wonder what happened to the Slime Geyser.
  11. They are probably going to use the PS2 versions with the Cobalt Flux pad designed for use in schools and have multiple systems running at once. I think you could get 10 of those setups for a fraction of the price of a new Supernova machine (unless they bought a bootleg Extreme machine off of EBay)
  12. A place to take a wheelchair on a coaster? Even if it's a kiddie/family coaster it still seems strange they would allow that.
  13. I feel the same way, I love that air time on the hills after the MCBR and the long helix is great.
  14. "At over 2,600 feet long, Knightmare is one of the world’s longest roller-coasters." Are they joking? It's probably not even one of the top 200 longest coasters.
  15. Along with Dorney getting a new power line and the ongoing rumors of the demise of Laser... I'd be very upset if that happened. There were also rumors of Laser getting refurbished but as of a month ago, it didn't look like they did anything yet. I still want that rumored GCI wooden coaster before an impulse.
  16. I voted for middle ground. I think students should be able to wear what they what within reason, no low sagging pants on guys, no spaghetti strap shirts or short shorts for girls etc. One dress code rule I did not agree with in my high school was a hat rule. Guys couldn't wear hats but girls were. I think everyone should be able to wear a hat or have the school say no hats at all.
  17. Sony really has to do something to get PS3 sales to pick up because right now there is really no incentive to get one with the ridiculous price and not enough exclusives. After the launch hype and holidays have passed, I see PS3's at every store. I went to a Target that has close to 20 last week. I have yet to see a Wii in stock at any store and haven't seen a DS Lite in stock in any store in months. I think Nintendo is going to win this generation of console wars.
  18. Based on pictures, best - Black Mamba, Dueling Dragons worst - Scream, Medusa (SFMW)
  19. I was there in 2003 and the ride was gone so I guess it was removed in between the 2002 and 2003 seasons
  20. Sonic really needs to expand. I think that is the closest Sonic to me as well. They advertise on TV around here but they are none in the area. I don't like the new Sky Princess colors either and it's just another example of what I really don't like what Hershey has done to Dutch Wonderland since purchasing the park (what I hate the most is getting rid of the Old Engine 99 train ride). There were even rumors that they were going to change the name of the Sky Princess next year and I hope that doesn't happen either.
  21. Nice pictures, the castle night shots look great.
  22. Disney made modifications to the ride (braking system?), without Intamin's permission.
  23. ^ I agree, plus with all the discussion on GADV.com it really sounds like they are leaving for good.
  24. I have also noticed a lot of trash in the parking lot at Dorney even with all those trash cans. It also seems that with the 25 cent cotton candy this past season, you saw a lot of cotton candy and the plastic bags on the ground both in and out of the park.
  25. I think the park has been doing well. I drive by it a lot during the summer and even on weekdays, their overflow lot is being used often (I would guess daily attendance is well under 1,000 but it's a very small park). I would go once in a while even though it's geared towards little kids if the admission was less ($18 plus tax) especially since I need that credit (they were building it last time I was at the park)
