1 train on Fahrenheit?! Wow and I thought 2 trains running and the single rider line closed was bad when I went (especially when some trains went out with as many as 2 empty seats!) -

"Hello Great Bear, to bad you were running one train, with a huge line. " I am really getting fed up with Hershey and their bad operations. I witnessed horrible operations a month ago and almost every TR I have read since then mentions some major ride running 1 train with a long line. -
I wish parks near me would still be on daily operations, it looks like it was great with nobody in the park.

Your longest hiatus from riding a coaster?
YoshiFan replied to JDo217's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A little less than a year. Since becoming an enthusiast, from October 28th 2007 to April 12th 2008 so around 5 1/2 months (stupid offseason ) -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

The Dark Knight at Great Adventure last night. 15 minute wait. Longest wait of the day, even Kingda Ka was only 5 minutes. -
If you could get rid of one thing..

I would get rid of all pay to line cut systems -

That rule doesn't make sense, I don't think any of the other Zamperla Wild Mouse coasters have that rule. I know at Morey's, it isn't in effect. -

I agree, the park has removed way too much in the past 2 years. For 2007, the 2nd log flume and Stuntman's Freefall were removed. For 2008, The Chiller, Swings, Splashdown Boat, Looping Space Shuttle, Houidini/Haunted Swing (SBNO), Bumper Cars (SBNO), Music Express (SBNO) were removed. That is a ton of stuff removed in 2 seasons with only the Dark Knight being added. Not to mention there are basically no family rides, it's all kiddie rides and coasters with a few flats and even less with the rumor the round up is leaving at the end of this season. Still, I love the coaster collection and that's why I go to the park as much as I can especially since Dorney's coaster collection isn't as good but has a way better selection of non coaster rides. -

I agree, Epcot is my 2nd favorite WDW park but I have a lot of great memories from past trips and the old rides which are no longer there. I think if I had visited the park for the first time in the past few years I wouldn't like it as much. -

Dorney's Wild Mouse is one of the worst lines to wait in. Thanks to the added seatbelts and the rule of no more than 2 adults per car, even what appears to be a 5 minute wait can be 20 minutes (this was earlier this season when supposedly only 1800 people were in the park). Last year the wait was in the station and it was still 10 minutes. I wish they would ditch the seatbelts and let 4 adults in per car and it would probably have a short line like everything else at Dorney -

I remember always getting my feet caught in those nets as a kid. The park used to be almost all playground stuff like that and an obstacle course, suspension bridge, slides etc. and the water park stuff before they added all those rides. -
Best - Disney because it is free Worst - every other system where they charge, especially Six Flags because they allow way too many people to use the system at once. At Scream Machine on Tuesday, normally flashpass people get car 6, 4 seats out of 28 on the train. There were so many flashpss users that they were giving flashpass people almost the entire train. I don't want to get into the whole argument about Flashpass again like I did earlier this year in that other thread especially since it seemed like I was the only one who thinks they are one of the worst things to happen to parks in recent years so that's all I am going to say about it.

WDW's and Knoebels (the longer train ride). I like how at Knoebels it takes you into the woods and is around an 8 minute ride. Dorney's train ride used to be great. The circuit was over twice as long as it is now and had a stop at Wildwater Kingdom. They shortened the track and got rid of the station at Wildwater Kingdom when Talon was built since Talon is where a lot of the old track used to go,Now it is just a big circle.

HRP Labor day weekend special
YoshiFan replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hopefully it brings in a lot of people to show them that their admission is way too expensive. I was reading some reviews on trip advisor and every review mentions the park is overpriced (admission and food) -
Farenheit not open in October
YoshiFan replied to CTcoastin's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At the very least I'd like to see some coasters open for Christmas Candylane in December. If they can run them in 30 degree temperatures for Springtime In the Park, they can run them when it is 50 degrees out like it was when I went to Christmas Candylane last year. -
Costco is my favorite. $1.50 for a hot dog and soda, $1.00 for a churro and $1.99 for a slice of pizza. Plenty of food for 2 people for under $3 a person. My favorite sitdown restaurant is the Alamo at Knoebels. The prices would be cheap as it is for a regular restaurant, but for a park restaurant it was amazing. $3.25 for a tuna salad sandwich with a huge pile of potato chips. I hate expensive restaurants and would take a meal for under $5 over a fancy or expensive resaurant anyday.

SFGAdv Concert with Boys Like Girls...etc.
YoshiFan replied to John C.'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I expected the park to be packed since it was heavily advertised on the radio. Now every time I plan to go to the park I check the schedule to see if there was a concert going on. I went to the park on June 8th this year which was when Blondie was there. I didn't know about it but since it was 100 degrees out and it was a school night (Sunday), the park was dead. Even KK was a walk on later in the night and I got to ride Nitro 6 times in a row without leaving the train. The only wait was 30 minutes for the log flume. The arena looked maybe 1/3 full at the most. -
8/17 Hershey; Rapids Close - Fahrenheit
YoshiFan replied to CHILLERLC1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's bad enough they were running 2 trains on Friday, but 2 on a Sunday as well?! Was the single rider line open? 2 hours and 15 minutes is crazy and I thought 75 minutes that I waited on Friday was bad. I got my final rapids rides in and waited 15 and 30 minutes, I would have been very upset to see a 90 minute line but I guess that just shows how popular the ride is. They really need to either add some high capacity coasters or make sure all trains are running when needed because the crowds are getting larger and they can't handle it. -

That always seems to happen with Rolling Thunder, in June I remember the left side had the line and no one was at the right side. What I think happens is some people pick a side and everyone else follows them thinking that is the line not realizing there are 2 sides I also agree about GASM, other than the once in a while headbanging in the corkscrews I don't find it rough at all -
Everything on my first trip at Dorney to ride the coasters besides Thunderhawk in 2005 (I had been to Dorney many times before but never on the other coasters). I expected lines and everything was a walk on - 5 minute wait. I later found out that is the norm. Also Kingda Ka where it was a walk on in the middle of the day on a weekday in May and I walked right onto the front row

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
YoshiFan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah you are right, I'm just glad I was able to ride it twice on Friday. I just hope it helps make coaster lines shorter with even more people in the Boardwalk but it won't help if Hershey keeps up the horrible operations on Friday. 1 train on Storm Runner and SDL?! -
Your Favorite at SFGAdv
YoshiFan replied to Rousfv's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nitro, it's my favorite coaster at the park and my #2 steel coaster. I really like the horseshoe turn and the turn after the first hill and the helix before the MCBR. I like GASM and don't find it that rough at all (sometimes a little rough in the corkscrews but not too bad) so I don't think it deserves the bad reputation it has. -
Wooden coasters' mystique
YoshiFan replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm glad Dutch Wonderland went with a wooden coaster instead of a steel coaster. If they had gotten a steel coaster it probably would have been a generic small sized coaster like the Joust that they later got. Sky Princess (I refuse to call it Kingdom Coaster), is a fun medium sized coaster that is enjoyable even for older kids and adults. -

Trailblazer was closed all day today as well. I hope it reopens. It's a fun ride when there isn't a long line. I also am annoyed about the rapids leaving. That was the main reason we went to the park today, since the ride is closing on Sunday.
