  1. No, I sometimes feel a little nervous if I am going on something new like when I was on my first invert (which was a SLC) but I don't scream
  2. I got 3 rides on the Comet at Hersheypark. They were closing and we were the last train for the night and they said we could stay on for 2 extra rides if we wanted. At Dorney I should have been able to re-ride as much as I wanted because not only was my row empty 90% of the time on Hydra and Talon but most times the trains were less than 1/3 full. Unfortunately, they weren't allowing re-rides. I didn't blame the ops as they sounded like they wouldn't have cared but it sounded like it was a Dorney Park or Cedar Fair policy. Kind of annoying considering they were just sending out the rows empty anyway.
  3. I enjoyed the ride enough to go on 4 times when I was there 1 1/2 weeks ago. I haven't been on any other floorless coasters so I can't compare it to another floorless but I sort of liked the forcelessness of the ride. In the past month I started to try out more thrilling coasters (before August 2005, the most intense coaster I had been on was Loch Ness Monster). I don't think I would have liked it as much if it really had a lot of forces like the earlier B&M coasters supposedly have.
  4. That is cool, I hope more parks start selling them.
  5. I think it was mentioned on a Great Adventure site that the reason why it works better now is because the ride had to have some modification done to it and in NJ, something along the lines of the park not being able to make those modifications without the manufacturer's permission but that wasn't the case when it was moved so SFStl.
  6. Stores are still selling the uncensored version. I see it all the time at FYE. It's just behind the register and you have to show ID showing you are 18 or older to purchase it. I think EB also has it but you also have to specifically ask for it and show ID as well.
  7. That's exactly how I feel about PA. Other than the parks, it's a boring state (at least in the eastern part).
  8. Tron or Discs of Tron
  9. I agree. With some parks it doesn't matter if you just run through and get the credits while at others, it isn't the greatest. For example, I had no problem running through Wildwood in 3 hours, getting on all the coasters I was able to and a few dark rides (3 hours including walking between all 3 piers). There isn't much atmosphere there and after the wristband expired, I could walk the boardwalk. But at a park like Hershey, I would hate to have to rush through and just go on the coasters and leave.
  10. I think you really need a whole day at Hershey since there is a lot to do both in and out of the park. Besides all the rides in the park, there is also Chocolate World with the dark ride tour (free admission). I don't think you need a whole day at Dorney. I spent less than 5 hours at Dorney, got on all the major coasters except the Wild Mouse and got 4 rides each on Talon and Hydra. Plus I did some flats and other rides. The only reason to spend a whole day at Dorney is if you are going to Wildwater Kingdom as well.
  11. Yeah, Hydra never seemed to have much interest with anyone after it opened. I was at Dorney last Sunday and despite the fact that the park was dead with Talon and Hydra being walkons, there were times where there was less than 8 people on the entire train on Hydra. I realize that due to the lack of crowds, there wouldn't be any wait but for a brand new coaster that just opened up a little over 4 months ago (from when I visited), to have trains less than 1/3 full, really says something about how people feel about the ride.
  12. Probably no costume for me this year. I had the idea of dressing up as Rage (a character from DDR) for the past few years but I figured no one would know who it was so I didn't bother.
  13. Wasn't there also speculation that the track wasn't built wide enough to support enough weight for 2 people to ride? Would capacity really have been that bad if there were supposedly 52 (forget if that is the exact number or not) cars. 52 cars could probably allow 80 or so people on the ride at once (given that there would be some single riders) which seems like a much higher capacity than the Flyers even with the ride on McBean's being longer.
  14. Hercules at Dorney Park. It almost gave me a headache.
  15. I think Gemini is considered a steel coaster
  16. I don't blame the parks for getting rid of them. Since they have horrible capacity and are geared towards kids and families it seems like it was a bad combination from the start (considering most kids will get impatient in a long line). I think the concept is interesting but they need to add block brakes or something so more than 1 train can be on the main track at once. If they were left as is, I think they would do better in small parks that don't get huge crowds such as Storybook Land in NJ (they maybe have 300 - 500 people a day) or a sea shore park that rarely gets crowds.
  17. All for the Apple IIGS Reader Rabbit Marble Madness Zany Golf Number Munchers In 5th grade on the Apple IIGS we always used to play Oregon Trail. It was a really fun game for it's time. I always thought it was strange using the IIGS at that point though (1993) but then again even when I had a 486/66 system at home, we were still using the 5 1/2" disks in middle school and that was in the mid 1990's!
  18. It's supposedly coming out (I think it was on a release list in Nintendo Power) but I don't think there is any information on it.
  19. So much for the creater of the seires saying after We Love Katamari, there would be no new Katamari games (it was in an interview in Hardcore Gamer magazine). I'm glad he changed his mind though. I would hate for the series to end.
  20. That's horrible that it could be removed. Log Flume's are very popular and I think they are almost an essential part of any major park.
  21. Don't have access to a digitial camera right now but the most unusual system I have is probably the Neo Geo Pocket Color. It seems like it came and went without much interest (due to Gameboy Color) but I thought it was a fun little system and the Sonic game was great. I was originally going to say my Japanese PS2 but I didn't think it was that unusual other than the fact it is Japanese.
  22. GTA 3. I played the game 3 years ago, got fusturated at one mission and stopped playing. After finishing San Andreas, I decided to start GTA 3 over again. I remember last time I played the game, the city seemed huge. Now after playing San Andreas, the city seems really small and confined.
  23. It should even be less crowded next weekend. I heard that yesterday there was some corporate event so a lot of people had free tickets which made the park even more crowded than it would have been normally (if that is the case I don't see how it can even pay for them to stay open). If that event hadn't been going on, I think it might be possible that you could even get some rides on coasters without anyone else on the train (considering some rides on Hydra, there were less than 8 people total in the train). The only thing that is annoying is that even with no one waiting for your row, the ops weren't letting people stay on the train. Not that big of a deal considering I could exit the ride, go through the line and get back on the same train after it went around the track once more but it's still annoying.
