  1. WinterFest looks really promising. Especially since it's coming to my home park next year. I really hope it's a success for all parks who try it, as as it could be a huge attendance booster for Cedar Fair.
  2. This is good news for Wild Thing. Any idea if it's happening to the other Cedar Fair Morgan Hypers? I do know Mamba is getting improvements this off season too, I'm just not sure what. I do know that it will have automatic lapbars in 2017.
  3. Santa Clause. . .? Tim Allen's going to be there? As long as he stays away from that damn snow globe.
  4. Adam House (of GCI) said in an IAAPA interview that it will be.
  5. Worlds of Fun: 1. Prowler 2. Mamba 3. Timber Wolf 4. Patriot 5. Spinning Dragons 6. Boomerang 7. Cosmic Coaster
  6. Interesting. It seems like it could go one of two ways. Either it will be a very big change that will push the park into more diverse territory with a bigger emphasis on competing with Silver Dollar City and SFSTL or it will be more of the same - incremental updates. So it will stay the same or change. That's a bold prediction Captain Obvious. I'd say Worlds of Fun is the most similar park to Kings Island in the Cedar Fair lineup (besides possibly Kings Dominion). Just look at their top three coasters: Mamba and Diamondback (both themed to snakes, ironically) Prowler and Beast (Prowler's theme is inspired by the Beast) Patriot and Banshee (nothing similar here. Color scheme kinda?) Also Kings Island takes place in a very wooded area, similar to Worlds of Fun. And I'd say Worlds of Fun and Kings Island have the two best kid's areas in the chain (Worlds of Fun has the most rides and Kings Island's kid's area is consistently voted the best). I do know that we've had a bunch of Kings Island employees transfer to Worlds of Fun this year (I talked to one of them opening day), so does this possibly mean there are bigger things to come? I hope so. Kings Island and Knott's Berry Farm are my 2 favorite Cedar Fair parks, so more KI at WOF is always a good thing in my book. We already got a little bit of Knott's in 2016, and I loved it. Look I grew up with WOF and could probably be labeled a fanboy, but even I can't pump that much sunshine Is it a crime to be a little overly-optimistic once in a while? In my book, Prowler kicks Beast's ass any day of the week in my book. I believe Mystic Timbers will be better, but the Beast doesn't even touch Prowler.

  8. DAMN!!! There's got to be some seriously epic stuff planned for this new gate.
  9. That's if Over Georgia doesn't steal the damn thing again!
  10. Giddy up for a NEW, high-flyin' adventure of a lifetime! For only a few bits, you and your pardner and crime will be climin' to the top of a canyon-sized mountain of steel overlookin' the wild, wild west. After pullin' the trigger, ya'll will be soarin' through the air like an eagle catchin' it's prey as fly over the midways of Frontier Trail. What do you say, pal? Are you ready to face your fears like an outlaw, or are ya too chicken? Old-Timey on-ride photos will be located in the gift shop.
  11. If you're going to Dorney, make sure to get Fast Lane. Lines usually build up to around 30 or so minutes even on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. 2 hour waits on Saturdays.
  12. This is such a fun bet between the two parks. It probably doesn't matter which team wins, it's free advertising for both parks. It's fun to think of what the name changes might be. TTD changed to "No longer the tallest - The ride" MF changed to Millennium Forceless Raging Bull to Sedated Bull Or the winning park will make a poll and Coaster McCoasterface will get chosen. Rename Magnum to Titanic because it's sinking.
  13. I can't believe you skipped this one. I think it's their best one this year. They are using scents, noisemakers, and I even saw someone with night vision goggles entering the last time. They even tickle you with something that probably don't want to know what it is! I really hate these "BlackOut" mazes that keep popping up everywhere. Especially when they replace an existing maze. It's cool for a Skeleton Key room possibly, but why would anyone wait more than 10 minutes to walk through complete darkness? It's so uninspired and boring. Oh, you're gonna blast me with air on my feet? SPOOKY! When I see "BlackOut" I think "BudgetCut".
  14. Bet between Six Flags Great America and Cedar Point I'm in Ohio and know someone who plays for Cleveland, yet I think it would be hilarious if SFGAm renamed one of CP's coasters for opening weekend! I wonder to what extent they will carry out the bet? Put temporary signage over the ride sign and change the maps just for the weekend? I swear to God, if they rename Millennium Force, Valravn, or GateKeeper, I'm gonna lose it.
  15. Windseekers. As much as they don't really provide much thrill, they are one of my favorite flat rides. I prefer them to Star Flyers, even. The view, lighting package, and soundtrack are all top notch.
  16. I don't really have an order. Outlaw Run (Favorite Wood Coaster) American Thunder Prowler Screamin' Eagle New Texas Giant Shockwave (SFOT) (Favorite Steel Coaster) Batman: The Ride (SFSTL) Pepsi Orange Streak Wildfire (SDC) Thunderation (SDC)
  17. It took me a minute too. I think he means that he fixed his initial post. Yep.
  18. New for 2020 (For Cedar Point's 150th anniversary)- VibrationHawk 205, the world's first RMC Boomerang coaster.
  19. There's not even a layout to discuss at the moment. They've literally removed maybe 50 ft. of track and people are already discussing how much better or worse a pre-lift section would make the ride. WTF?
  20. HAUNT is a very popular event, that's for sure. Parking in the grass is not too uncommon for WOF's event. Most of the time, it's to be expected. And it only gets worse from here...
  21. Well, that was a big investment for Michigan's Adventure.
  22. Sorry to be talking about next year's HAUNT already, but from what I've heard, Ed Alonzo may be headlining in 2017.
  23. If true, this information is not being reflected on the website It probably won't until it opens next weekend.
  24. So Asylum Island is staying, but the name has been changed to "Urgent Scare". EDIT: Everyone in "Urgent Scare" is being fitted for new costumes. I think we have a retheme.
