I say get rid of the ambulance, as it is offensive to those who have ridden in an ambulance. -

I think there is a better chance of them removing Mamba this weekend than removing Asylum. It's constantly ranked one of the best haunted houses at ANY park year after year. Hell, they've won Attraction of the Night 2 times already, and we've been open for 3 nights... -

I'd love a nice train show for WinterFest. SDC's, as religious as it was, was one of the most unforgettable theme park experiences I have ever had. Riding through the dark, chilly Ozark mountains with an enchanting conductor and crew was phenomenal. Almost like a genuine Polar Express. I really hope this event brings new opportunities to Worlds of Fun. I could definitely see WOF top Kings Dominion next year attendance wise with six weeks added to the season. It just depends on how popular the event is. I will argue any day that Kansas City is one of the best places to spend the holidays. Gorgeous city in the winter. Worlds of Fun will have some competition between Crown Center, the Ice Terrace and the Plaza. -
2017 Worst Year for new coasters in U.S. ?

*Two giant frisbees and you forgot the Mondial Inferno coming at CW and Spinsanity at SFStL La Ronde and CW aren't in the U.S. -
If you're this much of a p*ssy, don't go to a Halloween event. Halloween events have taken such a soft turn since the early 2010's. "Oh, you don't want to be scared? Buy this No-Boo necklace." "Oh, you only want to ride rides? Okay, we'll tuck the scarezones into small, discrete areas of the park." Oh, the shows are too racy for you? We'll cover up the dancers and lighten up the jokes." The biggest problem is the parks catering to whiny, sensitive people. It's an adult atmosphere. I don't care if you're 6 or 36. If you can't handle a Halloween event, save us all the hassle and don't f*cking go!

2017 Worst Year for new coasters in U.S. ?
WOFanatic replied to nhman93's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
2017 may not be great for new coasters, but I feel that what we lack in coasters, we gained in flat rides. We're getting 3 troikas, a top scan, a condor, a wave swinger, a giant Frisbee, 2 star flyers, and 3 S&S Shot Towers. -

From what I've seen, the whole park will have stuff going on throughout the entire park. Perhaps only some parts of the park will not have rides running. I've heard a bunch of odd rumors, from the inclusion of sliding elf characters (similar to sliders at HAUNT) to a activities extending out to even Oceans of Fun. It really sounds like the park will be going all out. I bet the new International Plaza will look gorgeous as well during Winterfest. I hope the front gate has giant monitors like Cedar Point to add a special holiday touch. -

Based on this information I would bet that the path will be cut off at the walkway under the train bridge (by the BBQ place) and somewhere on that path by Octopus (maybe a little further down, maybe up near the restrooms. That way you can easily cut the paths and you have those 2 coasters, the kids area and a bunch of flats. They also have the train if they want it and Timber Wolf if they want it (doubtful). The kids area was a given so you had to know that all of the paths leading back to it would be open. This sounds pretty sensible to me. Sounds right to me. I hope they extend it into Europa a bit, cause they have plenty of rides that can run great in cold weather (Le Taxi Tour, Autobahn, and Flying Dutchman) plus Falcon's Flight, the park's new Condor ride. Also Europa would work very well as it is surrounded by trees without a coaster in sight. Very Christmas-like atmosphere. I honestly think I'm more excited about Winterfest than a new coaster. -

According to WOF's newest live video on Facebook, Patriot and Spinning Dragons will be open during Winterfest. Steelhawk will not, as it will be turned into a 300 ft. Christmas tree. Prowler will not be open -

I wish the U.S. had more parks like Liseberg... -
Who they hung this year was seriously disappointing. Like, I almost thought it was a joke. At first, I thought there was a second celebrity waiting to be hung in the wings. Never really been a fan of Elvira either, but I know most people love her. Just not my taste. Other than that, Scary Farm looks fantastic this year. Really glad they nailed Dead of Winter.

The thing that sucks about CarnEvil is that the actors are so talented and they are given so little to work with. Some of them are so funny, and they work very well. But there's not really anything to scare with. (I would know. I'm in it ) -

Not trying to start a war but I personally feel WOF's is the gold standard for the chain I see what you mean about that. Im just kinda bored about the overlord thing. I think VF's is unique in the very least WOF's is still my favorite but I do commend Valleyfair for trying something new. I think every Halloween event deserves an awesome opening ceremony. I couldn't imagine WOF's Haunt starting out with anything but Overlord's Awakening. -

1. Pretty busy. Definitely busier on Saturday than Friday. It depends on how long you plan on staying. I'd definitely plan on staying opening-close to experience everything. I'd actually go with Fright Lane if haunted houses are your thing, cause WOF sends small groups through their mazes at a time. But I wouldn't delay...I know a good number of nights last year were sold out. You should be fine hitting all of the rides during the daytime, but a Prowler night ride is mandatory. If you plan on going only at night, Fast Lane is your friend. 2. No, but on Saturdays most of the park's flat rides close at midnight. Fury of the Nile closes at 7. 3. No Additionally, I'd recommend setting some time aside for Overlord's Awakening and Ed Alonzo's FunHouse, two of the best HAUNT shows in the Cedar Fair chain. Arrive about 30 min. early to both as Overlord has pre-scare ceremonies and FunHouse occasionally will hit capacity. -

I've been to both Howl O Scream and HHN. Howl O Scream is really good. To be honest, I wasn't really thinking of them when I made that post, but I'd say they definitely have a better event than some of the smaller parks like Dorney or CGA. As for HHN, it is probably one of the most overrated events I've ever been to. Great set design, and that's about it. The mazes rely too heavily on jump scares than actual actors, while pushing you through conga-line style so that any scare you would've gotten is thrown away. Not to mention the park is littered with buzzed man-children who can't follow simple park rules and make the sober people miserable. I'd rather go Dorney Park's subpar event than conga-line through another boring Walking Dead house with a bunch of intoxicated man children. -

My thoughts are that Cedar Fair paid them to write it. But TBH, those probably are the 10 best events. CF does Halloween best. -

What else could it be though. I'm not saying it is, i'm just curious now. Sure. Two flat rides, a new front entrance, and a new coaster, and extending the operating season by two months, all in the same year, for a park with annual attendance of just over a million. Let's think long and hard about that idea. Okay, that should have been long enough to realize why that isn't happening. They also added Patriot and Prowler within tree years of each other. And with SFSL and SDC in the area why not try to make WOF the destination park in the midwest. Worlds of Fun will never match Silver Dollar City for me. Even if they were adding a giga coaster next year on top of everything else, SDC would still be the obvious winner. I don't get it though. Never been to SDC, but have been to WOF and SFSL. What's so special about SDC? I remember going in December one year for my birthday, while it was less than 30 degrees. We only rode Outlaw Run and Giant Barn Swing before everything closed for weather. Even then, when weather was unbearable and painful, I had a better night than I had ever had at Six Flags or Worlds of Fun. The cave tour, atmosphere, flooded mine, Fire in the Hole, and Grandfather's Mansion alone make this park one of the best in the world. Not to mention that it features my favorite wood coaster (Outlaw Run) and my favorite Mine Train of any park in the US.
