  1. Worlds of Fun started teasing in April and all they're probably getting is some used flats, a new front gate, and Winterfest.
  2. I could actually see one of those new Mack dive coasters going to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. That would actually be a really nice addition to that park. Regarding this arguement about Six Flags announcements being "boring", I'm guessing all of these people live next to Cedar Point or Carowinds. Every year, half of Cedar Fair's list consists of "Nothing new next year! But I'm sure (2 years from current year) is OUR year!" I mean, Valleyfair's been waiting for their big year for almost a decade now! You think they wouldn't want a 4D free spin over their off-the-shelf star flyer they're getting next year? Six Flags added that to their bottom parks 5 years ago! And don't get me started on the people that complain that Six Flags adds too many RMC'S to their parks. Twisted Colossus, Wicked Cyclone, Medusa, and Texas Giant are some of the best steel coasters on the planet. Even the bottom of the barrel, drunkenly-designed, drawn-on-a-McDonald's-napkin-at-3-am RMC's are still better than ANYTHING at my homepark.
  3. It's pretty much the same concept. they are the exact same but clearly voodoo at knott's would be better Why is that? Those that have been through both say Bayou is a better maze.
  4. Here are some pics from the inside of the WOF version to give you some perspective.
  5. If Bayou is as good at Dorney as it is at Worlds of Fun, you're in for a treat.
  6. At Coaster Mayhem (WOF's coaster enthusiast event), the GM told us that all of the parks signed 7 year contracts with options to renew afterwards.
  7. Dino's are actually a 7 year lease for the parks.
  8. It's a nice change of pace to not know exactly what is coming. As shocking as it is, we might actually be surprised by a park announcement *gasp*. When's the last time that's happened?
  9. I hope that one day my home park is so well off that people start b*tching and complaining about getting a new roller coaster because it's not the kind they wanted.
  10. There's nothing really new for HAUNT. Just relocated stuff and new costumes.
  11. But the top 3 leaders were KI, KD and Carowinds I'm pretty sure you can count on a Winterfest event next year at WOF.
  12. I really don't think they are going water park. I'm just gonna assume that the fourth announcement is for a winter event.
  13. The trees at the bottom are definitely throwing me off. It definitely looks like it is teasing a launch coaster. They're not blurred out, they are clearly blurred in one direction, simulating speed. I don't see them hinting towards a troika or a condor. I'm probably looking too far into this, but it just seems odd to hint at something speedy when talking about used flat rides. I always keep think of what the director of operations said earlier in the season when asked how many coasters the park has. "We've got six roller coasters, but we are always looking to expand about that. We love roller coasters just like everybody else does. So we're always looking to get out next new roller coaster here." I don't know. Again, I'm probably looking too far into nothing.
  14. Interesting... I'm guessing 2 new flats, new front gate, and a new holiday event.
  15. I'm guessing that the Condor will be located where Thunderhawk was formerly, so that guests can see it from the road as they enter the park. Speaking of which, a park, especially at WOF's size attendance-wise having three tower rides is pretty impressive (four if you count Detonator as two). I don't know where the Troika will go. I have a feeling that it will be located where Krazy Kars was located, but the space may be too small. The orange flags definitely point me towards that area, though.
  16. From what I believe, the age restriction was lifted, allowing all ages to ride as long as the hit the height requirement. I think I saw somebody quote it from the website in the first few pages of this thread.
  17. Talk about blowing things out of proportion. 1. SteelHawk does not get "stuck" every day. 2. SteelHawk did not get "stuck" on Sunday. 3. You say you've never been to Schlitterbahn - how can you comment on its "luster"? 4. Perhaps you shouldn't comment on things you really don't know about? 1. I never said it gets stuck every day, I said it gets stuck ALMOST every day, which is true. During July, it got stuck on every visit I made to the park and even twice in one day. 2. Yes it did, around 4 or so. I was at the park Sunday. 3. You have a point, but when every review I hear back from the place says it's a waste of time and money, why would I waste my time and money going out there? Look, if you like it, that's fine.
  18. Yes, and I corrected myself at the top of this page...
  19. Yeah... I'm aware. Worlds of Fun is doing 7 Skeleton Key rooms (each one new for 2016), so why is the industry leader doing 4?
  20. I'm more confused about why KD didn't decide to announce their 2017 addition on the 18th. I'm guessing that they wanted to do a formal announcement with park guests.
  21. Look at the slides in the park and tell me something stands out. It's mostly off-the-shelf slides you would find at a rec center. I guess I shouldn't judge until I go, but I'd be blown away if I found anything there to be thrilling to me, especially after all the "bleh" reviews the park receives all the time. To be honest, every time I drive by there, the park looks abandoned.
  22. The conference is the 18th, not the 8th. Look up. He admitted his mistake - first post this page. Sorry, didn't catch that.
  23. 2014 was a very weird year for Kansas City parks. First you had Steelhawk, a malfunctioning swing ride that gets stuck almost every day now (even got stuck today), and Verruckt, a prototype slide that has now killed a rider. Both of these attractions were heavily delayed (both opened in July), and now both are having terrible malfunctions (of course Verruckt being the worse of the two). I feel like it might be in the best interest to remove both of these attractions and start fresh with a new attraction for both parks that takes everyone's mind off the parks' past mistakes. Having said that, I really don't know if Schlitterbahn can survive an accident like this. To be honest, the park flat out sucks. Verruckt was really the only attraction at the park that I couldn't take a nap on. And especially having this be a fairly new park, with a death taking place on their newest attraction...ugh... As hard as it must be for the park, it must be equally hard for the families. Most Kansas City schools start tomorrow, so having this happen on what might have been their last family outing...devastating. Prayers go out to the family and anyone involved or at the park. I've never been to Schitterbahn KCK just because of how lackluster the park is. But I don't think I'll ever spend my money at this park in light of recent events. Call me crazy, but that's just how I feel.
