  1. I didn't mean to imply that it hasn't, just that it's important to use critical thinking when considering the legitmacy of these rumors. Until Screamscape said it yesterday, it was nothing more than wishful thinking among GAdv fans on forums. The discussions came BEFORE he reported the rumor, not after. There have been plenty of times in the past when he reports on rumors first that BECOME discussions, but this isn't the case. Therefore, without anything else to substantiate the claims, I would take it all with several grains of salt. If you want to go ahead and believe that there's a legitimate rumor about it now with supporting evidence behind it based solely that it's on the site, that's fine, but then I've got a bridge to sell you. It happens in media outlets all the time. One source will negligently publish something incorrect (usually unintentionally, but still incorrect nonetheless) and it gets picked up by and reported on by other outlets as "SOURCE reports that..". If everyone then starts reporting it, it becomes more and more widely accepted as truth, even after attempts to correct the misinformation occur. It all goes back to the "Big Lie" German propaganda technique (albeit certainly without all the malice intent of purposefully misleading the public): “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."
  2. Screamscape. And I'll bet dollars to donuts that Screamscape got it from enthusiasts crossing their fingers and wishing. Yea I know the screamcape guy likes to make things up. I was just answering schotj's question. He doesn't make things up, at least not often (and when he does, he makes it known, ie. "What if..."). He posts rumors that are sent to him (and usually states this), which is what most of his readers would prefer, vs. him trying to decide which rumors to post and which not to. I had a big long post ready to go, then my computer conked out on me. Here's it condensed. Not saying he's making it up either (and not implying that you were perpetrating this either, Genx24), but that this is potential misrepresentation of facts. For example, we're speculating about a Wing coaster because of the survey equipment we're seeing. If he's just reporting our convo as the rumor, he then gives it an aura of legitimacy because of his site's reputation. We then go see him report that a rumor exists about it and start believing it even more, giving weight to something that didn't have anything more than speculation behind it to begin with. If he has OTHER info (an insider, etc) that can support it, great. I don't see anything about it in his post, though. Therefore, it's imperative that people recognize this is what it is, just speculation, and not give any extra weight to it simply because it's on Screamscape now, too.
  3. In ACTUAL news, Screamscape got a photo from a source of the new statue for themeing around El Diablo: Pretty bad ass to me!

  5. Obvious job is obvious? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Obvious+troll+is+obvious
  6. Scrape together the money to get FL+. It's totally worth it. It made such a difference when I visited in 2013.
  7. I'm just going to leave this here: When to Use Capital Letters
  8. I honestly don't forsee them reusing Chiller's station. I know that Fitzgerald hates it. I've got a feeling that once they do renovate over there they're going to raze it and start from the ground up.
  9. Agreed. The double down on Jack Rabbit at Kennywood is still one of my favorite elements on a coaster.
  10. When I saw this photo: I thought to myself, "This can't be SFMM, right?" Glad to see such a major step in the right direction.
  11. Haha yea. Once I saw that, I just promptly deleted the email and went on with my day.
  12. The email I got just said "select rides", too, nothing specific. I'd just print the voucher and get the wristband - no harm in being prepared, especially when we're talking about nearly zero effort here.
  13. Awesome trip report! For those in the United States that are interested, there's a Diggerland located within our borders. It's actually just a few miles down the street from me in West Berlin, NJ, not too far from the Cherry Hill area. I haven't been there yet, but I've heard great things. www.diggerlandusa.com/
  14. I visited KI on a Saturday in 2013 (granted it was July, not May, but still), and I really regret not getting FL/FLP. I was intending to save a little money, but in retrospect, it was a poor decision. I'd just go ahead and budget it in, it'll make the day much more enjoyable.
  15. I've only been walk-of-shamed a couple times (not counting the times I've had to use the fat seat), but that first time, man...it really gets you. I had really let myself go by that point, and when visiting Dorney Park in October 2012 by myself for the first time in years, I tried to ride Possessed but didn't make the cut. To add insult to injury, I got walk-of-shamed on the very next ride I tried, that spinning ride between Possessed and Steel Force. I was definitely a little depressed after that, so I made a vow to myself that I'd get back in shape and come back to Dorney to get the credit. The next year, after dropping about 30 pounds, I fit onto all rides with ease, even getting a couple extra clicks down, too! I know it sounds weird to be an enthusiast happy about tightening your restraints even more, but let me tell you, that felt gooooood.
  16. I ended up not being able to make it. I forgot my wallet at work and didn't realize until I was halfway home. I wouldn't have been there until after 8pm. Oh well, glad everyone had fun!!
  17. I'll be there, too, but probably won't get there until later. The main drawback for working in Delaware! (Aside from the fact that I have to be in, you know, Delaware)
  18. There's been plenty of coverage. I've got it all over my social media outlets from non-coaster-related sources. A shot of Santa on a roller coaster is a hard one to pass up. Most of the Indiana rhetoric has died down by this point anyway after they modified the language of the bill. Media coverage did what it always does: move on once the next story comes along fifteen minutes later. But enough of that. Yay Thunderbird and all it's glory! +1 awesome point for HW.
  19. Didn't want to make it seem like I was accusing you or anything, just trying to back up Ryan's post. I agree to an extent about your gripe on all new employees, but sometimes that's just the way it is. Nothing you can do if most, if not everyone, who worked it the previous year decide to not return to the park, though.
  20. One train operations were the norm during spring break but I can assure you the ride almost always runs with two trains now. As for the crew, they just need more time to get adjusted. Toro's crew this year is almost entirely new. I only have been there once so far, but when I was there, even though operations on El Toro were a little slow, you can tell it wasn't a result of laziness or sluggish employees. It was new employees working out kinks and getting used to the process in a real-time environment. Totally understandable in my book. You can have someone sit in a training class or run simulations all you want - there's no true substitution for the real thing, and there are always some growing pains. If it's like this a couple months from now, sure, there's room to gripe IMO, but until then, I'll reserve judgment.
  21. I still regularly see two, maybe only one on occasion when there's an extraneous circumstance (walk of shame, etc).
  22. ^When I used to live right by the park, I would occasionally visit on a Saturday during Fright Fest for a couple hours just to see how crazy it can get. It's interesting to see how the park functions when near capacity. I always make sure I leave with plenty of time, though; I've been stuck in enough late-night-end-of-season parking lot traffic for a lifetime, thank you very much.
