  1. If Rikki is working I might swing up during that time, too. I really need to take advantage of this extra time we have with the park, because I know if I don't, I'll really regret it once the off-season hits, even if it is shorter this year.
  2. Windjammer Surf Racers and Son of Beast are two of the biggest that come to mind.
  3. ^ My guess would be wishful thinking, nothing more.
  4. He said that he photshopped the picture to show how much room Talon takes up to show it is possible to fit a coaster in that area. +1 reading comprehension points I'd like a good GCI, too, but I'd bet they'd receive a smaller coaster like a Premier Sky Loop.
  5. Even if you don't remove Dinosaurs Alive, I think you could still make it work if you relocate Revolution. Here's what I was thinking. Granted it's skinny, but you could always have higher turns extend over the creek. I also included Talon in the shot in order to illustrate size, and how you can still get a good coaster in a tighter spot. Shaded section = potential spot
  6. If it were to happen, I could see them removing the antique cars and putting something there, especially if they relocate Revolution to Hang Time's old pad.
  7. Freeze was a lot of fun when I visited SFStL in 2013. It brought back a lot of "Chiller" memories from SFGAdv. I definitely wish that SFGAdv had added a copy of Mr Freeze instead of the Chiller back in the late 90s. Chiller was fun, but even with their initial hiccups, both Freeze coasters haven't had NEARLY as many tech issues as the Chiller did. Makes me wonder if they went with a third Freeze clone instead of trying something different, would we still have it there today? Most likely.
  8. Jesus, people, it's a friggin' amusement park. When exactly did this thread turn into the Kings Dominion forums? We get it, it's not the size of the boat, but the motion in the ocean. No need to feel insecure about size.
  9. I've been to Dorney Park several times over the last couple of years, and the only time I've ever waited in anything I would call a line (wait time > 5 minutes) was one Friday night during Haunt 2013. Even then, they were very manageable, the longest being 25 minutes for Steel Force. Even rides that did have a line when I first got there (Talon, 15 minutes) were walk-ons after a couple hours into the event.
  10. I don't know exactly how much theming there is on Boomarang, but I definitely agree with the park making the best out of the situation. I enjoy the color scheme, and they did a great job integrating the coaster into that section of the park
  11. Having ridden both (with PLENTY of experience with Nitro), I can tell you that Nitro is more intense. If you can marathon Nitro, you can definitely handle Diamondback.
  12. I agree with this point, and I think it's the most important factor to consider. I haven't seen too much of it here, but I've noticed others elsewhere equating short lines / walk-ons to light crowds and assuming therefore the event isn't successful. However, I've been three times so far, and even though lines for coasters have been short (if not non-existent), the midways have always been packed, primarily once it starts to get dark. Everywhere you look are families taking pictures, taking part in the various HITP additions, filling up the Adventure Theater for Jack Frost, etc. Heck, I've been noticed longer lines for all the "family" rides than the coasters. It's still too early to determine if this event is a true success or not, but there's enough evidence to show that traditional measurements of success like long lines on coasters aren't what should be primarily considered.
  13. And definitely spoken by a conservative. The other side of the aisle would be falling all over themselves helping this family take down an evil capitalist Kulak wrecker while encouraging the idiots of the world to keep breeding more and bigger idiots. If a lawsuit goes through over this, society is doomed. Wrong. I personally am a "bleeding-heart" liberal and like Robb have zero sympathy for the kid / family. Anytime rider error is involved in one of these cases, primarily rider error caused by egregious rule violation or the industry term "acting like a dumbass", it's nothing but Darwinism at its finest. The ONLY time a park should be held liable is if the park was negligent in some way (see: Mt Olympus, Alton Towers). Other than that, it's one more way to help weed out the idiots. I'm sure there are people on "my side of the aisle" who would jump to help the family here, just as I'm sure there are people from YOUR side as well. Let's not generalize here. It's what helps separate us from the idiots, like the idiots who decide it's a smart idea to try and jump out of a moving log flume from 30 feet in the air.
  14. Oh. Dear. God. Lap bars... Only lap bars... This went from me thinking this would be a fun ride straight to OMG THIS LOOKS TERRIFYING. Signed. This HAS to get built.
  15. I very much like the second corkscrew and the descent into it, as well.
  16. MF > Superman, for no other reason than the abysmal train design on Superman. Always and forever, until SFNE reverts the trains to their original design. When the trains are fixed, then and only then would I consider changing my opinion.
  17. Post some pics afterwards! I'd love to see how other parks do it this year now that I've seen it firsthand at SFGAdv.
