Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Holy crap this might actually be true?!?! TALL PEOPLE REJOICE!!! -
It wasn't referencing the quoted section - only the applied to that. It was a general comment referencing the practice of people who do have internal sources or are privy to insider information are usually respectful of those sources and remain mum on the subject. Usually. I feel it's pretty applicable to the discussion over the last few pages.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I killed the boat. Shot it dead in the water. It's never coming back. I regret nothing. -
I followed his page (not knowing it was him) up until he posted the leaked video of Total Mayhem back in September and then gave Harry s**t for deleting the leaked video from GAH forums, citing it as "censorship" and proof that it's right, essentially proclaiming himself to be this incredible investigative journalist. He's nothing but a joke. It's really a great site. Phil gets some amazing photos of the NYC/NJ/PA/DE region. His photos of the Jersey shore before / after Sandy IMO are some of the best sources to illustrate how devastating the storm was to the region. Glad to turn you on to it!!

^ Those rides are great family attractions and would really fit into the park very well. -
100% correct. He's got no problem making wild, unsubstantiated claims and will argue to death with actually credible people about how he's "right". He's got no problem posting leaked footage early on his crappy FB page for the sake of being first. He's the British tabloid of coaster news. Read what he says for entertainment purposes only. I can't think of a stronger case of overcompensation. In ACTUAL news, Flyin' Phil posted photos from his latest flight this weekend, including four of SFGAdv. They give a nice overhead view of the construction but unfortunately don't clear up this dumb Chiller station debate.

The "too close to the public" argument is not the argument they should be leading with. If the primary argument is about the added expenditure of a "parking lot" system putting the designated budget past realistic levels, then they'd be more credible in my eye. It's accepted that solar-covered parking lots are by far the most expensive type of solar system to build, and most past projects are nowhere near the size of the park's parking lot. Unfortunately, preliminary research (aka a few quick Google searches) couldn't come up with any hard figures. Multiple sources continue to talk about how the costs associated with parking lot panel systems are the main thing preventing them from becoming more common, though. Having worked within or right outside the park for over a decade, not to mention having grown up within walking distance from the park, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that generally speaking, the park's customer base are pretty much morons. Stone cold idiots. I've got more stories than can fill up a NYTimes bestseller, and all it takes is one of those morons to mess up something and create pretty expensive repairs.

Damn, Boldikus beat me to it. I love that the park created a section of its website to house construction updates. I also love that some of the supports are still wrapped in the protective wrapping. It'd be hilarious if they leave that up, it reminds me of the plastic-wrapped furniture at my grandma's house.

I really like all the added signage / queue, and I definitely like these colors a lot better. It pops a lot more. Total Mayhem was alright, but if I want to go ride a coaster with a generic name and no themeing, I'll go to a Cedar Fair park. The themeing here may not be Disney-level, but it's not designed to be. I'm guessing this will be more popular with the GP, too. Still can't wait to ride it next year!
