  1. If she has a "really bad neck" as you put it, she shouldn't be on any coaster, let alone one that sells itself on disorientation. My mother's back has deteriorated over the last decade or so. In the past, she loved rides and would do them all with us, but now it's just not a smart move to try and risk it, even on seemingly mundane coasters. As much as I'd like her to experience some of the new stuff out there, it's much smarter to play it safe with your health, especially with neck and back injuries. Sucks, but c'est la vie. The nice thing about Hersheypark is there's plenty she'd still be able to do with you guys (transport rides, Zooamerica, Chocolate World, etc).
  2. It's Corporate America. No corporation plans past the five-year mark. Even if they say they do, things end up changing due to a variety of factors. Not excusing it, but it's far from surprising.
  3. QFT. Redoing that all back there would be a lot more expensive than I think most people would imagine. As much as some of us may want it, it's pretty clear the park has no intention of expanding back there. There's plenty of areas of the park that need to be rehabilitated before they even consider additional expansion.
  4. It's Sesame Place. No. Just no. Unless you have a child under the age of six with you, then no. Non. Nein. Nyet. Nei. Aon. Ne. Nie. Nej. If you do decide to go through with it, make sure you immediately post in this thread. I guarantee you will immediately become its king. Something more surprising than a coaster nerd trying to rationalize riding a kiddie coaster at a kiddie park: there's actually a Sesame Place thread?
  5. If you don't get Flash Pass, you're going to regret it. I spent a day and a half there back in July 2013 without Flash Pass and I barely got to experience everything with probably two re-rides all trip. I highly regret not purchasing Flash Pass while I was there.
  6. ^^ Yea, I would love the same package as well. It would really fit well, assuming that they reopen Old Country and retheme that and Movie Town to DC in some way.
  7. Count me in the "Talon > Great Bear" camp. I happen to like Talon's layout more. Great Bear is still a fun ride, but its second half is a bit too much of a dud for me.
  8. We ended up missing Mine of Lost Souls when we visited last year. Line was too long and didn't want to wait. Everything Larry said about Cannonball is 100% true. Rode it once because the line was too long and they were running one-train operation. Honestly, one ride is enough anyway. Untamed is fun for a few re-rides. PsychoDrome FTW.
  9. To take the topic back to the 2017 addition: I'm willing to bet that the park will install a drop tower ("Chocolate covers every side" could be multiple sides / views along the lines of most circular drop rides), but I'm not sold on a Kissing Tower conversion. Has any park ever actually done that before? Wouldn't it make more sense to just remove it and add the proper tower in its place?
  10. When I last rode Wild Mouse, they had none of the mid-course brakes turned on. It made it one of the better wild mouses I've been on, but at the end of the day, it's still just a wild mouse.
  11. Man, and just as I start to comfortably fit in the restraints again, too. Oh well, it'll be back up when it's ready. I'll live.
  12. ^^ I see it that way, too. I envision it ending with a group jump high-five where everyone stays frozen mid-air because they're magic like that.
  13. Neon. Can't really explain why, but I'm a sucker for awesome lighting packages. One of the main reasons why I'm a sucker for a great boardwalk. Parks that both install and take care of their various lighting packages go up a notch in my book.
  14. Is the yellow section where the former TOGO stand-up was located?
  15. Impulse @ Knoebels, on our way out from an awesome first-time trip!
  16. Oh... dear god. While I appreciate the attempt, who in their right mind thought that was a good idea?
  17. Goddamn right, especially in the back row. You don't get that on FoF because of the mid course, which slows the ride down to a crawl at that point.
  18. The lack of a mid-course brake and intense whip through the corkscrew is exactly why JJ is superior to FoF. I don't understand why anyone would want floater in a corkscrew. Screw that, give me intensity any day. It's the best part of the Batman clones. If the park ever decides to turn off that brake, then maybe I'll reconsider my position. Until then, JJ is vastly superior.
  19. I'm riding the flyers here for the first time and saw this. Uhhh, is this new? Or are y'all just a bunch of rule breakers?
  20. I legitimately used the map in order to seek them out. Scene of the crime.
