  1. You're going to end up needing a Flash Pass. I'd also get there as early as possible.
  2. This was already discussed, but I don't think KD overhyped this at all. I blame overeager enthusiasts and fanboys who read WAY too into most of it and extrapolated outrageous guesses based on minimal info. I get that the Hurler announcement is disappointing, but all the park did was announce it wouldn't open this year. They never once hyped up anything around its reopening. So you mean it's the first time since 2011 then? That's the perfect example of trying to manipulate data in order to support whatever argument you're trying to make.
  3. ^ For the longest time, my experience with B&M hypers was limited only to Nitro, so I never got it either. Once I began venturing out to new parks and riding other ones (I232, Diamondback, RB), nothing ever lived up to Nitro. I232 was ok, but DB and RB were both pretty weak in my eye. I get now how Nitro is more of an anomaly than anything.
  4. I've been on Joker several times by now and each ride has been a lot of fun, even the ones with fewer spins in them. I think it's been a very successful addition for them so far, even with the occasional spat of downtime.
  5. When you have a reputation for saying stupid s**t, no one is going to believe you when you suddenly try to pass off a comment as a half-assed attempt at a joke.
  6. PRINCE DESMOND HAS DECREED IT SO!
  7. We knew your post was a joke. The subsequent posts with honest speculation of whether or not Hydra was being removed because of an Instagram post is what we were harping on.
  8. Beat me to it. Man, now I want some Jim's.
  9. I've a feeling there's a lot of s**t stirring for the sole purpose of stirring s**t going on around here.
  10. It's built into the valley in the back corner of the park where Hercules was located. It was designed with this landscape specifically in mind. Even still, though us enthusiasts may crap on it, Hydra is one of the park's main marketing draws. There's no way it's being relocated either within the park or elsewhere. Where's Bill when you need him?
  11. ... ...Dorney is in no way shape or form going to remove Hydra in order to put in a picnic pavilion. No need to wait for any "source quote to get back to you. Common sense prevails.
  12. And that would be becuase the event will not open until Fall of 2017. True, but I didn't think you're 2016 pass expired until the end of the year. I've used a current year pass at Knotts in the past during December . You're right, it doesn't expire until the end of the year (12/31/2016). Your 2016 pass is irrelevant for an event not occurring until 2017.
  13. I'm going to ignore the Winterfest stuff because that doesn't appeal to me, but the County Fair addition looks really good to me. I love when parks do area-sized overhauls, and this one brings in some great flat rides the park's been missing. I even like the revamp of Carolina Cobra to integrate it into the section better. Between Fury, the water park expansion, and now this, Carowinds has really, really stepped up its game in the last three years.
  14. It's honestly not that hard considering that everything provided as evidence so far consists of wild speculation or significant extrapolation of facts. I have this issue sometimes when training new investigators at work. Some people seem to just lack the ability to apply rationale thought and reasoning to the facts available at hand in order to arrive at an educated, sensible conclusion. Want it boiled down to a two-word phrase? Fine. Common sense. Common sense tells me that a two-day gap in announcements does not equate to a potential hyper coaster. That's extrapolation at its finest. Simply put, there's no evidence yet that there's a hyper, and a hyper (as previously pointed out) would have created more hype behind the announcement by now. Hey look, a reasonable, rationale assessment based on available facts! And wrapped up with a healthy dose of sarcasm, too, my favorite kind! Want a job?
  15. They could put it on that grassy field across from Phoenix maybe. In all seriousness, though, I don't see it going anywhere besides the scrapyard. Say your goodbyes while you can!
  16. Hey, I grew up in Bumblef**k, NJ! Though to be fair, "bumblef**k" is a pretty accurate way to describe it. Don't forget to lament about Six Flags labeling carnival rides as roller coasters, bitch about the growing trend of no single riders on Ferris wheels, and discuss how great the park "used to be" while sanitizing history and filtering memories through rose-tinted glasses!
  17. In addition to the previously mentioned improvements to the Safari, the new version is a lot better / safer for the animals. Even though rules told them otherwise, people used to feed the animals all sorts of crap through their windows, including many items that clearly shouldn't be part of their diets. The park is now able to better control the guests' interactions with the animals and keep the animals on the appropriate diets, providing an overall better environment for them as a result. It's really win-win all around.
  18. What was Iceberg? EDIT: Ok, so I did what I always tell others to do and use the Google. Indoor PTC Cuddle-Up, whatever the f**k that is. Pictures seem like some sort of discount teacup ride, is that about right?
  19. There are a bunch of those plaques around the park, most of the older rides have them. Lost a few with recent removals (RT, GASM). Next time I'm at the park I'll take photos of them.
  20. I have a lot of experience with hiring international "J1 Visa" workers, both through a couple years inside SFGAdv (old "in-the-park" McDonalds) and several more at the one just outside the park. The park would typically hire students from southern Asia and eastern Europe. Each summer, some of the J1 Visa workers hired to work at the park would look for second jobs for some extra money on the side and would regularly come to our restaurant. By and large, they'd be some of the best workers we'd have all summer, not to mention being some really cool people. Rules are definitely rules, but it's a shame that so many have to leave over something so, for a lack of a better term, innocent.
  21. I never knew this was a thing but it's incredibly exciting.
