  1. When I rode it during my visit in 2014 it was "meh" at best.
  2. I'm primarily on TPR content on my iPad - both social media accounts and the forums. I'll use my phone when I'm out and about, but that's a small fraction compared to iPad usage. TPR until recently was blocked by the servers at work, so my desktop time was limited, and it's going to stay that way as I'm only visiting sparingly in order to not raise any red flags and get the site blocked again.
  3. Yea, as Bill already said, it's a project handled by a state grant as a training opportunity for new apprentices. It's slated to take about three years. That said, I disagree with what Bill is implying ( ) and don't find anything really negative about it. In fact, my inner businessman cackles with glee every time I read about it, because it REALLY is an awesome business decision, despite what a few spoiled coaster enthusiasts may say. The parking lot was going to be a VERY expensive project (estimated by park officials in Q&A sessions to be upwards of $10 million) that wouldn't provide any ROI. Along comes an opportunity to complete the project IN FULL at a fraction of the initial estimated cost. Now that money can be used for other capital improvements instead. Six Flags would've been morons to pass up the chance. Look, Six Flags has certainly made some boneheaded business choices in the past, but not this one. I support and applaud this decision in full.
  4. God, I don't know what we would do without you, Bill. Please don't ever leave.
  5. It's nice to see that they extended the use of those tickets purchased for the closed days to not only the rest of Cedar Point's 2016 operating season but to Michigan's Adventure and King's Island, as well. That really helps cover a wide geographical region, allowing people who potentially can't make it back to CP the option to visit one of the other parks instead so the tickets don't completely go to waste.
  6. According to Coaster-Count, my rarest coaster is Jet Star at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights, NJ. No, not Star Jet, the coaster that infamously fell into the ocean after Superstorm Sandy, but Jet Star, the coaster that Star Jet replaced. It was removed back in 2000. rcdb.com/344.htm
  7. That's. The. Exact. Same. Video. SMH X 1000
  8. When I went to KI in 2013, Beast was one of the last rides I got on. It was an overcast night with both a light rain and some fog by that point. My decision to rdie in the front seat that night is one of the best things I did on that trip as I didn't know what to expect. OMFG it was soooo good. Almost like a religious experience. One of my best rides ever on a coaster.
  9. Afterburn was by far the best coaster when I visited in 2014, pre-Fury 325. I'd reconsider your list a bit (ESPECIALLY over Nighthawk and Hurler) lest you miss out on a really great coaster.
  10. Phantom's Revenge is definitely the anomaly among Morgan hypers. I had a blast riding it when I visited Kennywood in 2013; I especially liked the surprise double-down near the end of the ride. However, for me, the circumstances surrounding its creation keep it in an almost separate category away from other Morgan hypers, certainly away from snoozefests like Steel Force and Mamba. That said, I've heard Superman down in Mexico is pretty good.
  11. You DO realize by definition you are a millennial, correct? Technically millennials were born between 1980-2000. Maybe he's a self-hating millennial. Hell, I'm a millennial, and I pretty much hate them, too.
  12. Well, if the guy was a d**k about it, that sucks, but that's a separate issue.
  13. That's totally reasonable on his part. Maybe the guy wanted to get a good onride photo of him and his kids and didn't want a stranger in the picture. Single riders should always ask first before sitting. It's the appropriate thing to do.
  14. Overzealous park enthusiasts (or as most people call them, "enthusiasts". Teenagers, especially those who travel in herds. Overzealous teenage park enthusiasts (No need to worry about these traveling in herds, then seem to only be found in isolation).
  15. I don't know about y'all, but I have a new name for the log flume from now on!
  16. I wouldn't wait in a long line for El Diablo, but it's a lot of fun And fills the "Space Shuttle" void in the park. Plus, I love the way it helps light up the area at night. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a sucker for flashy neon.
  17. I'm at the park too, and yea it's pretty empty. However, that seems mostly due to the weather forecast. Sky is pretty dark but we're about ten miles north of any rain bands. There's a shorter line for Joker now than there was on Friday for Season Pass Preview Day.
  18. Trust me, it just seems small in photographs. It's much bigger in person. My brother made me laugh when he saw it and commented that it seemed a bit big - all I could think of were the "it's too small" comments online.
  19. I think Raven just gives better rides... period. QFT
  20. At the park now. Joker is operating just fine. Just finished riding it for the first time. OMG, this ride is nuts!! It really disoriented me and my brother. I'm not joking (pardon the pun) when I say that this is a truly unique ride experience that you have to try for yourself. Not saying it's a world-class, destination coaster like El Toro, but I'd reconsider dismissing it prematurely if I were you! It's really just a marketing term Arrow invented that stuck. Don't read too much into it.
  21. It was all over TPR's Facebook and Twitter accounts yesterday.
  22. Good thing I didn't decide to leave work early and make the drive up. Oh well, these things can happen with new rides. Doesn't sound like anything too major.
  23. Those lighting packages are really something.
