  1. While I don't close my eyes on any rides or coasters, I will admit that flying coasters are the only rides where my irrational fear of the restraints failing kicks in. Every time I ride Superman at SFGAdv, I always get afraid my fat ass will cause the restraints to pop open as we descend down the first drop.

  3. Why does anyone care about this? Because most of us feel like a park classifying a Larson Loop as a roller coaster is a bit ridiculous. It's as bad as parks who classify Disko rides as coasters. They are not coasters. They "thrill" rides, and as we all know. . . There's a big difference between a thrill ride and a roller coaster. Also, it's very misleading (to the GP at least) and it's a really cheap way for the park to falsely raise their coaster count. Meanwhile, the rest of us will continue on living our lives. Seriously, no one should care about this.
  4. I think it's a bit too early to comment on specific aesthetics of the new entrance since we're working off of some rustic concept art, but I appreciate the inclusion of the balloon as a focal point of the sign/plaza. Nice way to pay homage to your history.
  5. Nitro at SFGAdv. In the cold rain. My face is still recovering.
  6. Hey that orange car is mine! The place is a ghost town, so far I have 10 rides on Nitro, 10 rides on Batman, and 1 Skull Mountain. Thank you Great Adventure's re-ride policy! Haha, awesome! It was great to meet you and share a ride on Nitro! You prepared for the weather much better than I did, I was done after the one ride. Glad you had fun, get back safe!!
  7. Keep your mouth shut unless you are in need of protein. You beat me to it.
  8. Pretty nice collection of rides for a state fair! Looks like a blast.
  9. I visited the park for the first time this year on two separate occasions, once in March and once in November. Man, had I know the exemplary and compensating customer service I received both times was actually in fact pure s**t as a result of not being near Disney's "please, take our bath mats, too" level of service, I would be pissed. Then I could join in on the relentless bitching and whining on internet forums, too.
  10. I usually arrive at SFGAdv around early afternoon, so I usually just meander. Lately I've hit up Joker first now that it's just a straight walk back. In the past I usually walked back to Nitro.
  11. ??? You mean the twist like Kingda Ka and TTD? Yes it does.
  12. I really like the alternating color scheme they did on this version of the ride. Call me a comic book nerd, but it feels slightly more Joker-ish.
  13. Really glad to see you had a great time, Zach.
  14. Man, I'm bummed that I haven't been able to make it up for HITP yet this year. I have off on Monday, but I'm conflicted because Rikki and I are in the process of moving. The responsible, adult thing to do is to use the downtime to continue packing and moving things, but...coasters.
  15. Did you read the article right above your post? Yes I did but i want to know WHY someone would want to experience that. I guess living in the midwest area Im pretty cynical when it comes to winter time weather. I been to Florida during the winter too and i have to say i prefer Florida's winters 100 times over. I'm also not a sports person so i can care less about skiing and snowboarding and all that. Hey guess what I know it might be hard to comprehend but there are actually other people in this world with different interests and desires. x 1000
  16. Oh man, that's amazing. Holiday World got even cooler in my eyes. One of these days I'll make it out for HoliWood Nights, but it's not in the cards this year. I can't wait to make it back to this place!
  17. Man, 2016 has been a weird f**king year.
  18. How do they handle it? I haven't been in a few years, but I seem to remember cups getting thrown out like normal trash. Not trying to stir s**t for the sake of stirring s**t, I'm genuinely curious if they have a good solution. For me, I don't know enough either way, but I'd prefer supporting whichever method leaves a smaller ecological footprint, both from an energy consumption and landfill perspective. I'm tellin' ya, every goddamn year I make the same damn mistake at some point and end up with a Quasimodo cup.
  19. Here's the information from a non S**tbart-related-s**tty-excuse-for-a-s**tty-news-site location. Link.
  20. 100% agree. I don't hate it, but it's not really worth more than one obligatory ride when there are so many better options on which to spend quality coastering time.
  21. If you really want Famous Dave's that bad, we can hit up the one on 70 in Cherry Hill. Hop over, I'll pick you up, and we'll plow through several racks of St Louis ribs! I've only been fortunate enough to spend one day at the park back in 2013. If I didn't have Fastlane+ that day, it would've been a nightmare. That said, it all depends. If you're there for several days during a slower period, I can see going without, but it's best to save up funds now just in case. You can always use the funds for something else should you decide to not purchase them!
  22. Even though I ride SkyScreamer almost every time I visit SFGAdv, I still white-knuckle it on Star Flyers like it. I still can't get over the fact that it's just a bunch of thin chains keeping you suspended.
