  1. This may be a bit sacrilegious, too, but roast pork sandwich > cheesesteak. If you really want to do the Philly experience, get the superior sandwich. Looking at your list, I don't feel as if you've properly factored in travel time between your stops. For example, you want to to the Mummers Museum AND drive to Great Adventure in the same day, THEN drive the three hours to Knoebels? Are you only planning on doing a couple hours at Great Adventure and driving through the night, or driving out the next day and losing some time at Knoebels? If you've factored the time already and are okay with the distances, fine, but want to make sure you're considering it. It's the Northeast - make sure you factor in traffic time as well, especially if you do any driving around rush hour.
  2. Before we know it, it'll be rolling off of our tongues like any other name. I'm not worried.
  3. Looks like the world got another credit!!
  4. Earlier on in the 2014 season. I visited the park in late July on a business trip and the clearing had started several weeks before that.
  5. The only model I've been on so far has been Tempesto, but I remember it being a lot of fun. Sure, these models are probably not going to crack anyone's top 10 lists, but I personally love how these can deliver a fun, thrilling ride for people while taking up barely any real estate. Colors pop, too!
  6. My default has become the National Weather Service website. No ads, no distractions, just straight-up weather. Also, everything Boldikus and Bill have mentioned is 100% accurate, at least based off of trends from the last couple years' operations.
  7. Man, it sure looks like there's going to be a lot of airtime on this thing!
  8. Wow, it already looks so different from what we're used to. Can't wait to see the finished product next year!
  9. One of the acceptable definitions of prevailing is "current". So technically, he's using it correctly.
  10. This is the best advice. Though I feel I'd agree with your political sentiments and feel a lot needs to be done to address the growing inequality, at the end of it, you have to control what you're able to and learn to let go what you can't. I've cut back in areas of my budget that aren't that important to me (various subscription services, cable, movies / other entertainment, etc) in order to budget for trips that I want to take and for splurge things like fast passes. Companies aren't going to stop offering these upselling opportunities - they'd be terrible businessmen if they did.
  11. ^ Anyone who knows Bill knows that was a VERY legitimate response.
  12. It extends to other interstates as well. I'm exit 10 off of 295 and/or exit 2 off of the Turnpike! Also, unpopular opinion: Turnpike > Parkway.
  13. Didn't get a chance to go today as planned, but I've been seeing all the photos from opening day highlighting all of the refurbishment projects going on around the park. Really glad to see so much TLC being done!
  14. We're going to try have have our venture grated for a few hours tomorrow, but we have family obligations that evening.
  15. Yea I like it, just took me by surprise. I forgot that the other coasters got repainted that way as well.
  16. Hmmm, going straight red instead of leaving the yellow rails. Interesting choice.
  17. This question inevitably gets asked every year and the answer is always the same: anything before mid-May just isn't going to happen. The park hasn't opened anything sooner than that since Wiggles World in 2007.
  18. Looks like you had a great time! Still bummed that I missed out on Wonder Woman by about a week, but just an excuse to come back at some point. Just got to come up with some other excuse to travel for work!
  19. Do they still do the assigned rows on some, if not all, rides for Fast Lane? To me, that's always been the biggest drawback, but I can't remember if that's been done away with recently.
  20. Would you prefer something like this beauty? (from GAHistory): They're for theme parks, not Rand McNally. Sure, it could always be better, but they're far from "ugly". Ahh, glad to see the ambient sounds of a construction site have returned. Joking aside, I'm glad to see it, the park has definitely done a lot more this offseason to spotlight progress and overall improvements than they have in recent years. I somehow always forget how quickly flats like this go up. That said, what's the over/under until we get our first post wondering if this means it'll be open before Memorial Day weekend?
  21. My brother, sister, aunt, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law all still actively play that game. It's not the cultural craze it was when it was first released, but it's still got a huge-enough following to still be relevant.
