  1. ^That's good to hear. I want to visit the park as a guest one more time before I begin working there in May. I'll just have to bite the bullet on a $60 ticket.
  2. Dang! That reverse cobra roll thing looks awesome. You basically get a regular drop and a barrel roll drop in one ride!
  3. Is anyone familiar with opening weekend crowds? It just so happens that the Sunday of opening weekend this year is also Easter Sunday. Is the park usually busy on Easter? Thanks in advance.
  4. That’s great to hear that Twisted Colossus is back up! I’m a little bummed since I went yesterday and missed it by just a day, but oh well, the park was absolutely dead so that makes up for the loss.
  5. Can I expect Six Flags Magic Mountain to be dead tomorrow, even though this whole week is Bring a Friend for Free? Does that have much of an effect on off-season weekday crowds? Thanks.
  6. I am also a huge fan of the paper cup drink plan for Cedar Fair. It’s SO nice not to carry around that refillable cup all the time. I also try my best to not be wasteful, so if I were to get two drinks in a row (when eating a meal), I always reuse the same cup. I really wish Six Flags would do the same.
  7. They look like regular Arrow trains to me... Am I missing something?
  8. Exactly my thoughts. That's why I think elements like the wave turn and the zero-G stall to be some of RMC's more innovative elements. They were unlike anything else out there.
  9. Love the trains! Can't wait for an opening day announcement.
  10. ^Wow, I never thought about that. Based on pictures, the magnets don’t appear to be retractable. But if so, that would provide awesome airtime in the back row!
  11. You'll notice though that it doesn't seem to be stopping at the top but just rolling down the ramp into the drop. Could be why it's going so fast. Wonder why they are doing that? I wonder how much that has an effect on the overall speed of the ride. Once the brake releases, it doesn’t completely fall after that. Part of the train is still in contact with the magnetic system, so part of me thinks whether they completely stop the train or not, the difference in speed is negligible or nonexistent. I’m happy with the speed it’s running at now. Everything after the overbank/cutback actually looks pretty forceful.
  12. Even though testing is in progress, I am a little surprised the park never did a "train reveal" like other Cedar Fair parks did (Railblazer, Twisted Timbers, soon Steel Vengeance). I want to see those seats and lap bars up close!
  13. I'll be the first to provide a ridiculous answer... I think it is a complete coincidence. Iron Rattler turns left to get to the lift hill. So do tons of other coasters like Ride of Steel at Darien Lake, Sky Rocket at Kennywood (even though it's a launch), Raptor and Valravn at Cedar Point, Patriot at CGA, Apocalypse at SFA, and tons and tons more that I haven't mentioned. I've thought about weird stuff like this too, such as "are counterclockwise or clockwise zero-g rolls more common," and questions like this are nothing more than a coincidence I think. There's no way that much thought goes into small stuff like this, but it's fun to think about anyway.
  14. This looks great. I'm really hoping this becomes the new Free Spin and gets cloned at a few more Six Flags parks (St. Louis and America come to mind as good candidates, maybe Harley Quinn themed).
  15. HangTime is cycling test runs right now with the webcams up! I’ve seen it go a couple times now, in the rain. Looks good.
  16. Exactly. This is why I feel some Arrows have many more years of life in them. I live down the street from the S&S facility, and when I last visited I saw an Arrow looping coaster train sitting in the yard (almost looked like Anaconda or Viper, it was green). Speaking of maintenance, what is it about B&M that is so low maintenance? Why do maintenance teams like them so much? Are they just really well engineered (but then again, shouldn't every roller coaster be so?). I've always wondered this.
  17. Put me in the camp of "I wouldn't care if they removed it" too. It would be nice to see them lower the height restriction, but this is Cedar Fair we're talking about... Remove CCMR and use that space plus what's left of the STR land and put in an awesome family/thrill GCI with a 42" height restriction. One can dream...
  18. That Fury one looks awesome! If I bought one, it would definitely be that. However, I may just wait for a Skyrush one if it is indeed coming...
  19. I guess that would be an advantage of operating that ride! Random rides throughout the day for single riders! I'm down.
  20. Interesting. In other words, I'm officially hired on Lagoon to be a ride op this summer! If I end up taking the job (this is my "plan B" job), catch me at Rocket, Air Race, Sky Ride, or Jet Star starting in May!
  21. Can't wait to see test runs on this thing. It's just so... weird.
  22. Can an LIM/LSM system even provide the necessary acceleration to achieve 82 mph, given the length of track?
  23. Webcams are back up, and the train(s) are nowhere to be seen anywhere (probably the transfer shed). They really wanna keep this a secret lol. We’ll see if the cams get turned off again tonight.
  24. Plus, Knott’s has been a destination park for a very long time, and even it is totally dead on weekdays this time of year.
