  1. Any plans to bring back the details under the poster's name (such as date joined, location, age, gender, etc.)?
  2. Sandy's Blasting Bronco looks crazy. Glad to see it has finally opened!
  3. And keep in mind that the raft slides showing up on Google Maps have been removed. It is currently now a grass plot, as seen in my second photo. They have plenty of space to connect the ride to the main park, but it definitely is off the beaten path.
  4. Nope. Just a steel coaster going in and out of a giant mountain. That's about all we know! It appears to be similar to Wonder Mountain Guardian at CW, but much less dark ride and lots more coaster.
  5. I just visited yesterday (10/11). The crowds were very manageable. I didn't wait more than 5 minutes for anything, although it did get more crowded in the evening with Frightmares. However, my friend went the day before me on Saturday and said it was the busiest day he has ever been at the park. I think part of that is that Saturday had better weather. And because it's Saturday. I would recommend going Sunday for lighter crowds for sure. EDIT: Also thought I would add some photos of the new mystery coaster construction. We now have a lift hill and some green track installation to keep an eye on!
  6. Love the new update! I just uploaded my profile pic and profile header from my iPad's camera roll with ease. Wonderful! Thank you for all the time and effort you (and everyone else involved) put into the forum. I will admit I was starting to go a little crazy not checking TPR like it's the morning news for the past couple weeks. And let's admit, reading TPR is MUCH more pleasant than the news! Looking forward to posting again!
  7. I was also a little (pleasantly) surprised at the 6-car trains. It makes total sense, given Universal's capacity requirements, but I was expecting 4-to-5 car trains like most new Intamin launched coasters. That just means all the more whip in the back seat!
  8. I wonder if this is more substantial than trackwork or general maintenance. The fact that they said "receiving an upgrade" and "lightning strikes twice in 2021" seems like it is something more. I could see them give it RMC's second-gen trains that perhaps work better at such high speeds and sustained forces, as well as potentially installing I-box track on the high G sections. Who knows! I highly doubt they will change anything about the launch/lift though.
  9. Lightning Rod confirmed closed for the rest of the season. Perhaps a little teasing too? Photo credit goes to @sparky3528 on Instagram.
  10. Very happy to see an official name, and confirmation that it'll be opening next summer. Exciting stuff!
  11. I approve of the Skyrush praise. It is seriously one of the best coasters ever built. I waffle between it and I305 as my favorite coaster. Need to get back to Hershey ASAP!
  12. Thanks. I understood there were temperature minimums, I just didn't know if certain parts of the park were closed (like other holiday events) where some coasters definitely don't operate. Good to know it's all open, weather permitting.
  13. I apologize if this has been asked a million times before, but my family is potentially planning a trip to Dollywood around Christmastime this December. Are there any coasters that are definitely closed for the winter event? Or are they all completely weather dependent? I can post this same question in the SDC thread as well, because we are considering going there too. So if anyone wants to comment on both parks here, I'd appreciate it! I also recognize this year could be completely different than any other, but I'm just curious what their past events have looked like in terms of operating coasters.
  14. Yay! What a wonderful addition. It was really a matter of time before Silverwood got something from RMC. Love the name and theme too.
  15. I wonder if Silverwood was really affected much by the pandemic at all. The only lost like 2 or 3 weekends in May, otherwise a normal operating schedule all summer as far as I know. If they're building a new coaster next year, they're obviously not in a terrible place financially. The park is just in their own little world, away from everything! I have a feeling it's an RMC Raptor. If it's that or anything of similar size, scale, or thrill, I can guarantee I will finally make the trek up there from Utah next summer.
  16. Excellent news that it's a roller coaster! Can't wait for the announcement!
  17. Great report. I really miss Six Flags Great Adventure. I visited for the first time back in July 2016 and haven't been since. El Toro and Nitro are spectacular, and I enjoyed Kingda Ka much more than I anticipated. Fingers crossed I'll be able to visit next year!
  18. I am expecting some type of extreme flat ride (perhaps an elevated Zamperla Air Race like SFFT got this year), but here's to hoping it's a coaster of some sort. The park teased that the skyline will change, so it will have some height to it whatever it is.
  19. I can't wait to see hardcore enthusiasts start debating whether this is now a steel coaster or not. They should keep it half and half!
  20. Looks like fun. GCI makes excellent coasters. It's also cool that they were able to open it back in February so people can enjoy one of the few 2020 coasters to open.
  21. Nerdy thought, but I wonder if they will keep steel wheels on the train. If so, this thing is gonna ROAR. I also wonder if it's the whole coaster or just portions of the track. This will be interesting to follow!
  22. ^This. Our problems won't magically disappear on January 1, 2021. I can definitely see some protocols still in place for minimizing contact among people, and perhaps masks will still be required or recommended in places. But I can't see any park staying closed all season again. I think all parks that are expecting to open, will open at the very least. As for new investments, we will be getting all the kickass 2020 SeaWorld coasters... so that's good. Word on the street is an RMC Raptor at Kentucky Kingdom. And hopefully Velocicoaster too. I think, if anything, 2022 will be the very dull year. Since 2022 coasters would likely be purchased/planned this year in 2020, and of course nobody is investing into huge coasters right now.
  23. I believe those trains were all ready-to-go for this season. It's nice to see a part of Vortex live on.
  24. It was 100% gone when I visited in June 2019.
  25. ^That's what I was thinking as well. It's funny that Intimidator is getting repainted first, and it's the newest out of the trio. Behemoth looks alright, but Diamondback... yeah, that one needs it.
