  1. I will admit that I was *interested* to see Intamin take on several concepts that other manufacturers have tackled. It looks like their version of a single rail, a PowerSplash, and a Sky Rocket II. That Gigasplash looks wild though. But I will never complain about more competition in the industry. Intamin just usually goes off on their own path and inspires other manufacturers, not vice versa. I still love and worship Intamin and look forward to any of these getting built! Probably Energylandia.
  2. For steel coasters, I have to go with Apolcaypse/Firebird. Rode it as Apocalypse in 2016 and hated it. Rode it again in 2019 in hopes it improved as a floorless, and it was somehow worse. For wooden coasters, Mean Streak was bad. But I also think Beast and any of those 3 bench woodies from the '70s are pretty bad, especially in a wheel seat.
  3. This is exactly how I feel about Rougarou. I wonder how long they will hold onto that coaster. It doesn't even compare to the park's other three B&Ms in terms of ridership. It sits on some nice land that, when combined with the former STR plot, could be some prime real estate for the park. But I also imagine it's relatively easy to maintain (when compared to the park's Intamins), and it's not a terrible ride either. It's just SO easy to ignore when it's literally across the midway from one of the world's greatest and most iconic coasters. It definitely is in an awkward phase of life right now.
  4. That's a nice surprise to see that SFFT's new addition will open this year. Good for them!
  5. Update... Ended up staying home in California all summer due to Ms. Rona. Next park will still be Lagoon, at the end of August. Although I will be riding my first alpine coaster next week, if that counts?
  6. ^Chicken Dinner Restaurant! This is a great move for them. It's a way to bring in a little revenue while the park is closed and somewhat make up for the lack of a Boysenberry Festival this year. I hope they continue this more than just two weekends. Maybe they're testing the waters to see if it's worth it or not.
  7. I am interested to see the theme for this ride. Usually I wouldn't say that about a Cedar Fair park, but given their recent work with Copperhead Strike and Orion, I think it's safe to expect a cool theme and story with the ride, rather than just plopping it on concrete and slapping a Joker face on it like at the Six Flags parks.
  8. Everyone was joking about SFMM and Frontier City strategically being excluded from the 2020 announcement video... welp, looks like everyone is in the same boat now. In all seriousness, I can see most parks advertising their unopened 2020 rides for 2021 (Jersey Devil, Aquaman, many of the flats and water park attractions), but I could still possibly see SFMM announce their 2021 raptor still since they had nothing coming this year anyway (kinda interesting how the timing worked out for that). But I also wouldn't be surprised if that got pushed to 2022 or later. Overall I am expecting this announcement season to be pretty dry, like it was when 2017 attractions were announced.
  9. I really enjoy the Free Spins and think they are a great addition to any park. I have never understood the hate for them. Who cares if it's a clone? These will be great additions to Adventureland and Kings Dominion next year.
  10. I know I will probably receive some flak for this, but I actually think Skyrush's restraints are its best feature. I know, edgy. Yeah, the restraints are tight, but they make you feel so free, open, and vulnerable, and that's what makes the coaster so utterly terrifying and amazing. It would NOT be the same with the Maverick/I305/Storm Runner/Fahrenheit restraints. With that being said, I definitely would not complain if they somehow retrofitted the new Intamin restraints (like on Pantheon, Red Force, Taron, etc.) onto Skyrush since I have heard they are way more comfortable and equally "freeing." I am very glad the park has Candymonium now. Two coasters with very similar stats but vastly different experiences, and somebody who doesn't like one can go to the other and get an almost opposite experience. Kinda cool!
  11. Add Vortex and Volcano to this list. Vortex I don't mind so much, good riddance. But Volcano
  12. I am glad to see someone else appreciate Banshee's intensity. I really like the ride a lot. When I went in 2017, it was actually my favorite coaster in the park.
  13. This just goes to show the vast differences in opinion us enthusiasts have. I thought Wildcat was a prime RMC candidate since the day I rode it in 2016 - especially since there are literally 2 more GCIs (technically) in the same park that are better in every way.
  14. My thoughts exactly. I love Skyrush more than most people, but I can see how somebody would strongly dislike that ride. There is something to be said for a fun, comfortable, re-rideable B&M Hyper. Despite having similar stats, Skyrush and Candy are literally polar opposite coasters and I think this is a great addition to the park. Hersheypark already had one of the best coaster collections in the country, and Candy honestly makes it even better. They have a coaster for every person's taste. I haven't been since 2016 but I loved the park. Hoping to visit in 2021!
  15. Can we please create a new word filter that corrects Orion to Onion? This is amazing.
  16. Wow, cool! That's a great touch that I'm sure most people weren't expecting. Very fitting for the theme too.
  17. I like the idea of virtual queues for all major/popular attractions. That sounds fantastic. But I agree Bert, having some smaller or less popular rides to ride while waiting is also nice. Having every ride in the park on virtual queue would be extremely irritating.
  18. Bummer to hear that Storm Runner will be closed all season, but at least ya'll have a shiny new B&M Hyper to help make up for it. Can't wait to see the POV and hear people's thoughts.
  19. I noticed the same thing, but didn't post anything because I figured I'd be the only one who noticed or cared! Hahaha. But yes, it looks like they installed a magnetic strip alongside the antirollbacks like Intamin did on their early hypers to help reduce noise. I believe this lift is faster too, or it at least looks like it.
  20. Looks awesome. The big wave turn and speed hill appear to be some of the highlight moments IMO. The color scheme is also eye candy. One day I'll get back to Kings Island and ride this... or any coaster... at any park... eventually!
  21. ^That's a positive way to look at things. I feel the same way about my local 2020 coaster (Emperor). It's nice to see that Orion and Candymonium will be opening this season (next week!), but I think it is safe to expect that the major Six Flags additions (Jersey Devil, Aquaman) and the SEAS coasters (Iron Gwazi, Pantheon, Emperor, Ice Breaker) will all get pushed to 2021. Although I suppose a winter opening is possible for some of those coasters given the parks they're located in.
  22. I am thinking the same thing. At least according to both POVs, there doesn't seem to be much train interaction when the trains depart at opposite ends of the station. They seem to cross/interact only 1 or 2 times. But this can of course be different in real life, because I will say that watching POVs of West Coast Racers or Twisted Colossus does not give an accurate representation of interaction with the other train (since the POV cameras are fixed). So riding it is probably different. It still looks like a wonderful pair of family coasters. It's funny that the relative lack of theming (for Efteling) is drawing criticism for this ride, but if this exact pair of coasters and theming were at a Six Flags or Cedar Fair park in America, it would be above and beyond! Just goes to show the differences between European and American parks. And yeah, the capacity looks phenomenal.
  23. Thanks for the update. I really like how Aquaman fits in the area. I visited in December when construction walls were up and was a little interested to see how they would squeeze the ride in, but it looks nice. The color scheme is also excellent. Hopefully it can open... this year?
  24. Thank you A.J.! I was seeing this all over social media and wasn't sure what to think or who to believe. That makes sense. With the exception of Stingray (since it already opened in Feb), I can easily see the other 4 major coaster projects in SeaWorld parks be pushed to next summer. But then again, 3 of those coasters are at year-round parks, so maybe we could be looking at some winter openings for those? Is the same issue happening at BGW for Pantheon? I have heard absolutely no information about that ride's current state. I almost kinda forgot about it.
